Ok, I've read the reviews of the quirky room at the top and that's what I stayed in. Firstly height is only going to be a problem if your dumb and are trying to pick fault as the room is at an angle where you can stand up straight or be retarded and squeeze into the corner. The room is a so called basic room which is crazy as the cleanliness is 100%. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is spot on with a full English or continental. What I liked which is maybe weird was the fact that the room walls are clean and not all marked up and dirty looking. There is a lift so no idea why people say there is not, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in and I've been to Bucharest six times. I would take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt as there expectations are 7 stars Dubai.

Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. This hotel gives you a clean no frills room with a great location in the Old Town at a price I found significantly lower than other hotels in the area. The rooms do not have a safe, do not have complementary in-room coffee or water, they don't even have a closet. But, they are very clean and have a large sharp TV. For the savings, it is a trade off I am willing to make and I would stay at this hotel again if I was in Bucharest.

Hotel location is wonderful - middle of the old city. Rooms are spacious enough but some of them are located over a street with a night club and are very noisy all night (especially lower floors) - this has to be mentioned at check in to relevant customers. Staff is very friendly and helpful - especially at reception. Rooms cleaning needs some improvement as some negligence showed and called for our intervention. Breakfast is great, large choice and comfortable dining room including outdoor seating Fitness center is quite small and at basement - could have been located on an upper floor facing the old city - would be wonderful

I stayed here as part of a tour and while the room was comfortable, I think two nights was enough. I managed to flood the bathroom while taking a shower and I have no idea how as the shower panel was in place, it seems like maybe they were expecting that as their is a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor. Unfortunately I did not foresee this and ended up getting my towels and clothes which I had left on the floor soaked. I stuck to the bath after that! Breakfast also wasn't great, the food was okay, pretty standard but they clearly could not cope with the amount of guests that were staying in the hotel. It was really difficult both mornings to either find somewhere to sit or find clean plates, cups etc. The bed was comfortable and I did sleep well. The wi-fi was good. This was also the first hotel I'd stayed in with a kettle. Tea bags & coffee were provided but no milk. However there is a fridge in the room, so you could buy your own and store it there. The location of this hotel is about a 30 min walk to old town. Overall pretty standard accommodation.

This hotel is aesthetically beautiful, the rooms are decorated to a high standard with nothing to fault. Staff were helpful. Our only let down would be location is out of city centre a good 45 minute walk, or rely on Uber and the continental breakfast was a little underwhelming and lacked choice and variety. Coffee not served at breakfast is an extra charge which I’ve never found elsewhere during travels especially when there is no drink making facilities in the room. Beautiful hotel, location more suited for business not a city break and things like breakfast and drink making aren’t great. On a positive note the neighbours dog who visits the front door is lovely and friendly.

A fantastic hotel in a superb location close to restaurants and bars. We unfortunately had an incident on arrival when our bag was stolen from the Bolt cab and I just want to say The Hotel manager and all his staff were very supportive and helped us through this.. we stayed extra nights whilst our passports got sorted as we felt very safe in this hotel..it’s clean, friendly staff,well maintained and within walking distance to all amenities .. please do not let our incident put you off travelling to Bucharest.. we will definitely come again and recommend to others.

The hotel is situated a few metres from the Gara de Nord railways station and underground station, so it is very easy to reach. The check-in procedure was fast, room clean with a large bed, toilet, shower, TV set, hairdryer etc. The door is card-operated, mine unfortunately didn´t work properly, so I had to go to the reception desk twice but the girl was really helpful. Breakfast is served in the adjacent building from 7 .00 to 10.30, quite a good range of things to choose from. Wi-fi connection strong and stable. Next time in Bucharest I will definitely try to get a room here again.

Hotel My Continental Gara De Nord provided a solid base for our four days of exploring Bucharest. A very convenient location, regarding the metro and railway station; and within a walkable distance (around 20 min) to the centre. The hotel was clean and safe; our room offered everything we needed and general ambience was pleasant. What deserves a special mention, is the restaurant staff at breakfast times (good-humoured and very professional) as well as breakfast on offer – plentiful, fresh and tasty. Also, a nice vibe there in the evenings with an attentive and lovely gentleman at the bar. Thank you for a positive experience, looking forward to coming back …

I had cancelled my initial reservation and they still charged full price. I contacted them and they said it’s not them it’s Booking com (who said it’s not them of course…) Poor customer service and no reimbursement (lost 100% of money reservation) in between this hotel and *********** site. Will not return or recommend to friends/families. Be careful or better avoid this hotel altogher. Also double check your Booking com reservations to avoid possible issue (booking com was really terrible svs as well).
