Hotels near Fitneszpark, Budapest

I was supposed to stay for three nights at the MP Hostel in Budapest; but left a couple of hours after I checked in. I arrived in the hostel before the check-in time; thus requested to leave my suitcase while awaiting check-in. Receptionist David just told me, ”You can put it in the storage room.” He did not even show me where the storage room is. I had to find the room myself. Mind you, David was not busy at that time. He was just chatting with a friend in the reception area. When I finally checked in the hostel late afternoon and went to my room, I noticed that the room was very cold. I opened the heater knob; and waited for more than an hour. No changes; it was still very cold. I then went to the reception; and informed receptionist David about this. He was in the reception, indeed, just talking to another hostel staff Daniel who is apparently the hostel F&B manager. He casually told me, ”Open the heater valve.” To which I replied, ”I did that more than an hour ago; but it's still very cold. Perhaps you can accompany me to the room; and we can both check the heater.” David answered, ”It's not my job. I'm the receptionist; not the technician... and the technician is not here. Wait for your room to get warm.” I said, ”It's been more than an hour since I opened the heater; but the room never got warm at all. If it's not your job to address the heater problem, then who can help me fix this? Can you at least transfer me to another room with a working heating system?” After David called up someone and checked the available rooms, he finally agreed to move me to another room. While I was at the reception waiting for my new room to be ready, I was talking to a friend on the phone to express my disappointment. When David said that my room was ready, I hung my phone up right away; and was surprised when he said, ”I”M A F*CKING RECEPTIONIST. THE HOSTEL MANAGEMENT PLACED ME HERE BECAUSE I SPEAK ENGLISH. CHECKING THE ROOM OR THE HEATER IS NOT MY JOB.” I replied, ” Where did the 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' words come from? To be clear, I never addressed you a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' ” I said these sentences at least twice, to reiterate my point. Without knowing the context of the conversation because he (Daniel) was playing a video game on his phone, F&B manager Daniel suddenly charged at me, kept on pointing his right index finger at me, and raised his voice, ”Don't you dare disrespect my friend and call him 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' OR ELSE...” I then said, ”I didn't even call David a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' Go ask him.” When David agreed that I did not call him that, I then went inside my new room which was still very cold. Heater in the new room was not working. Again. After all the negative experience at MP Hostel Budapest, I decided to leave right away; and found another private room in a hostel nearby. Zero customer service. Aggressive. Threatening. I hope the hostel will improve on its customer service, and value its guests.

Stayed 5 nights for a conference with 3 other colleagues. Quaint hotel that looks its age. Had very friendly and helpful staff handling check in/out. Had taken a suite, but it was rather small. Main door opened into an anteroom with 2 internal doors - 1 of which led into bedroom (just enough space for a double bed with 2 small side tables). The other door led into a small living room (space for dressing table, couch, TV, and a small round table with a chair). Bathroom is a little dim. Breakfast buffet had standard ham and cheese cuts, scrambled eggs, breads, cereals, fruits - repeated daily. Noticed the staff change the cutlery after each dinner, but the placemats on the table is not changed. Location is excellent with nearby train and bus station leading to all major attractions. Also have supermarkets nearby.

Apartment central. Room was nice. Reception staff not the most friendliest. The beds in the apartment are 2 single beds on wheels not ideal for married couples who are having a weekend away and wanna cuddle up at night. Glasses provided and there was another guests crisps in cupboard. These should be binned as open and unhygienic eating crisps someone has had their hands in. Rooms cleaned daily. A few times maids came in when we were in our single beds. Took towel and never replaced them, had to get out shower to go down and get new towels. It is quite noisy as apartment is on main road. There is blinds on the windows. There is brown curtains but they don’t fit the window so the sun shines in and wakes you up. No chance of a long lie. Beware of street taxis - they will try rip you off when you have been drinking alcohol. I’d download bolt - just like Uber. Kebab shop a few doors down - lovely food Spar straight across the road. Close to some fab bars. Unsure if we would stay here again.

The hotel is very beautiful and modern and the staff very welcoming. not knowing the city, they do not hesitate to advise me on places to visit and explain to me how to get around with public transport. The room was very comfortable and modern corresponding to all my expectations. The only small negative point that I could cite is the restricted opening hours of the restaurant and the bar. Taking into account the neighborhood (8th arrondissement), I would have preferred to eat at the hotel than to have to go out or order. In summary, a great stay and can't wait to come back!

Having read the reviews i was very apprehensive about our stay here, but we were pleasantly surprised. We checked in around 9pm, had a warm welcome and a quick check in. We had to put a code in to access the lift, then the key card to take us to room. All very secure. Our room was clean and warm. It had a fridge and a decent tv. Going out that night it was pouring with rain and the receptionist gave us his umbrella to borrow...total gent! Throughout our stay we were not disturbed or bothered by other guests. We felt happy and secure We checked out on the Monday, but had a few hours before heading to the airport. We were able to keep our luggage at the hotel free of charge in a locked luggage room. We had a great stay and would stay again. Its an old building like alot of others in Budapest, and there are some other flats and residents who stay in the building, but it was all very secure, the building is operated by motion lights, so it seems dark but the lights come on as you walk along. if you are looking for something 4 or 5 star this isnt you place, but a comfy bed, warm shower and great location for exploring!

I liked the hotel, for such a price I was even pleasantly surprised! The room is clean and has everything you need, the renovation is quite fresh and modern. The only thing is that the towels turned out to be old, it’s good that you brought your own. It’s convenient that check-in is done using a code, but due to booking through trip.com, I didn’t receive a letter with check-in information, so I called the hotel directly. The center can be reached in 15-20 minutes by bus without transfers. The hotel has a coffee shop where you can have breakfast or drink coffee.

The room was neatly tidy, wonderful bed, neat bathroom, in short, in tiptop order. The various pools and hot tub were clean and beautiful so very enjoyable. The breakfast was very extensive so that even picky people like my wife and I could get something tasty and healthy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This showed, among other things, that my wife had become unwell due to something we had eaten in the city, so I asked for some fruit late in the evening and a later checkout the next day, which we again offered free of charge. got. If I had to mention something, it is that this beautiful hotel is a bit older, so the luxury is no longer completely up to date, for us that was no problem at all and I would even say that we saw it as a plus. The price is not expensive. It is cheaper than in China. It is very convenient to take a taxi to other attractions. It is friendly. The service attitude of Hungarians is far from that of Western Europe. The breakfast is rich. It is recommended to go early. There is a long-distance bus station opposite. It is very convenient to buy tickets online to Austria and Slovakia. Budapest is very safe during the day. I will choose it next time

Very-very calm! The sound isolated room was just what I needed. No slamming doors, no traffic noise at all - despite being next to a very busy road. This newly built hotel is just two steps away from metro station Népliget and also Tram Nr 1. They have an eye on every detail, to make you feel comfortable. The interieur design is sober, modern and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and competent. The restaurant offers quality food and there is space for everybody. They adapt well to the different flux of guests and the breakast was not a hectic experience, despite an exceptionally busy morning on Sunday. Bravo!
