Me and my friend stayed at mad monkey for 5 days which was far too long but we didn’t know when we booked that there wasn’t much to do. When we arrived we didn’t get the most friendly welcome from reception we didn’t get told about any events going on in the hostel or any trips that the hostel were offering We found the room was quite dirty and very loud on the road side. The air con made the loudest noises and half the time it was hot. The room smelt very mouldy and damp. The floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned for months especially looking under the beds. The walls were cracked and the paints hanging of the walls. No one cleaned the room in 5 days but we did get toilet roll delivery’s. We found it quite hard to chill near the pool as there wasn’t any comfy chairs and it was a greenhouse in there and soo hot we couldn’t sit there for long. It’s all enclosed and we was told on a very occasions that they couldn’t turn on the aircon. We was pretty disappointed with the food prices(the food was nice) although the pizza doughs were a bit undercooked they were so expensive to say it’s a hostel with backpackers on a budget staying there. For 2 meals it cost us £15. And we spent £3 getting a can of red bull which would cost less in England. We wanted to join in on the beer pong one night and we was told we wasn’t aloud to play if we didn’t buy a bucket of beer which was a big of a money making scheme really so we didn’t end up playing and we didn’t want to drink that night to save on money. Everyone should be able to play as some people don’t drink alcohol. We enjoyed to music quiz we found that was a good laugh. The music was very good in the bar and the dj was great. We also found out you couldn’t buy bottled water which was disappointing so we went to the shop to get bottles. They only have one water dispenser in the full building which is very inconvenient and should have one on every floor. we thought the monkey punch was great and did get you drunk with the free shots. Our only recommendation is that you do this promotion later as 7-8 is still quite early if you don’t go out till 12. Overall wasn’t the best and wouldn’t recommend for backpackers on a budget.

I had a good time with Bunks Hostel, the place is quiet. I think the only problem is the turning on and off of the pc. Keeper has to get in just to turn it off and on other than that everything was very well.

The hotel is 250 pesos from the airport, there are many Korean restaurants around, there are barber shops, pizzerias, bakeries, rooms are large, there is a treatment room on the second floor, not a massage, it is a physical pain, the wireless network is great, decoration The style has the heavy sense of the industrial workshop, and the waiters are very enthusiastic,

The room is decent but could be better. Positive side: The airconditioner is cooling well; The shower heats fast; The wifi is fast; TV has ample channels to choose from; Place is considerably peaceful. On the other hand, they could improve on the cleanliness of the place. There are roaches in the room. Linens looked unwashed. But overall, it is a good deal for its price. P.S. One thing I do not understand though is their decision to separate the toilet bowl area from the shower area which are just beside each other anyway. You have to go out after you pee or poo, and enter the shower room next door to take a bath. There is this big partition in the middle occupying a lot of space which could have just been removed so the entire bathroom would be somewhat spacious.

My boyfriend and I come to this hotel very often and we love it! The owner is really helpful, friendly and speaks great English. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are a decent size and well kept. Location is by mango spuare so lots of bars and restaurants and it's about 10minutes to ayala mall. Highly recommend!

Booked through Agoda. Review is based on a P800 plus discounted rate/night. Stayed 9 nights. Negatives: the room was not in a proper state when we moved in. Sink didn't drain. One (1) coat hanger in the closet. No top sheets in the beds (only a blanket.) The hot water is at best lukewarm. Few cable channels. Positives: The room is small but adequate. Clean and well appointed. Shower pressure good. The staff are nice, friendly and helpful. We like the location on Lloriente Street. Easy access to Fuente Osmena through a walkway and Mango area walking in the opposite direction. Good alternatives are Apple Tree Suites and Fuente Pension House on the same street.

I made a booking with agoda and received no confirmation so I contacted the hotel directly they furnished me with a copy of the confirmation but no QR code I don't know what this is but apparently you need it on arrival. The person on reception paid me scant regard and just kept telling me to contact agoda which I couldn't do as ”my booking reference does not exist”.The contact us page offers 4 telephone numbers not one of them had the courtesy to reply to my messages. The person on reception who's name was REY was terribly unhelpful and poorly versed in English to the point I didn't understand his answers or indeed which question he/she was answering.We requested 2 single beds as we are father and son but apparently this a special request and this hotel does not entertain special requests I think this REY guy had the temerity to suggest book a further 2 rooms one for me one for my son such was his bad English it was difficult to determine what he meant and he was loathe to clarify which. So shortly we will leave home with no QR CODE to stay in an hotel that obviously cares nothing for its customers,our vacation is in tatters to start with I suggested they make up a bed on the floor but even that seems troublesome for them
