Amazing
GGuest UserThe room was spacious, and the balcony was also very large with a nice view. The open-air onsen was amazing! The service was excellent. They even had massage devices for body and face. The matcha tea bags were delicious too. I felt a lot of thought went into everything.
GGuest UserThis is definitely one of the most value-for-money hotels we've ever stayed at in Japan! 🔥
Highlights:
* The front desk staff were incredibly warm, polite, and provided excellent service 👍
* Complimentary drinks and snacks are available until 10 PM, a truly thoughtful gesture 🍶
* The room was very spacious, making for a super comfortable stay.
* It features a sauna, as well as indoor and outdoor hot springs, perfect for complete relaxation ♨️
* There's a shuttle stop right at the entrance, making pick-up and drop-off very convenient 🚗
A minor downside:
* It rained during our visit. If the weather had been good, we could have sunbathed on the lawn, which would have made the experience even more perfect ☀️

Great
AAnonymous UserThe room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view.
GGuest UserVery satisfied with our stay. Room is abit small as the room was constructed out of a container but they still managed to pack everything nicely into the room. Location may not be ideal for travellers relying on public transport but no issue if you’re driving as there are parking lots available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. Love the amenities provided (full range of Pola products and Refa hair dryer!) They even provide a Balmuda kettle. As hotel is located within a park, there is no security fencing. There is a main gate where hotel guests need to scan their card to enter hotel premise but public can easily walk over the slightly raised flower bed to enter the hotel premise even without the need to enter via the main gate. Such setup is only possible in Japan where security is not a major issue and known for being a safe country but we’ll be concerned if this is in another country. There is also no shelter from hotel rooms to the parking area so managing luggage during rainy days will be challenging. But overall we love our stay at this hotel.
Kkyon007The hotel was exceptionally clean. Although the room was a bit small, it felt new, and a great perk was being able to pick up amenities from the lobby entrance after check-in. They offered a wide variety, including makeup remover, toner, coffee, and tea, which was incredibly helpful! Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were already provided in the room. The hotel also featured a natural hot spring bath (onsen) with free-flowing water and a sauna, which left my skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. While the buffet selection wasn't extensive, the food was delicious. We chose this hotel to enjoy the Hit Parade show, and because it was so clean and convenient, I'd definitely like to stay here again.
MM231559****This Hoshino Kai hotel meets the usual high standards of the chain, and its direct ocean view is a big plus. The food, however, was just okay—nothing special compared to other Kaiseki meals I've had elsewhere. My mom even said she wasn't full. The small ice cream was delicious though! The staff's English was pretty good, and they were very enthusiastic when communicating.
ZZiyoulaiqudeliulangzheWhen I booked, it only showed the room, not that it was in an annex building. We ended up being placed in the building next door, which had much simpler facilities and was significantly smaller. I'm not sure what the reasoning was. To take a bath, I had to carry a basket out and go to the main building. The slippers provided were also very slippery. It was very inconvenient, especially in the cold weather. It would be much more reasonable if the booking page clearly stated this upfront.
温温泉ラバーひーちゃんGreat value for money, and the location in the city center is perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep. The ryokan itself was spacious, and the room and bath were also very nice.
CClean_MartinI've stayed here before, and this time I brought a friend and booked a larger room. It's a historic inn, but the building and decor don't feel old at all. The Japanese-style room has a really nice vibe, and the smell of the tatami mats is so soothing. The room itself is incredibly spacious; I honestly think three or four people could comfortably stay in that one large tatami room. On the top floor, there's a hot spring with one indoor bath, a small outdoor bath, and a small sauna, all using natural hot spring water. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but all the dishes are local specialties or popular items from Oita Prefecture, so you'll definitely eat well and feel full. The downstairs parking used to be free, but now it costs 700 yen per night.
GGuest UserThe hotel location is excellent, right next to Beppu Station – just cross the road from the exit. It has its own hot spring, which is a bit small, but guests can use the hot springs at two other nearby hotels for free. Breakfast is also served at one of those other hotels. The room rate is very affordable for Beppu, offering great value for money.
