The guest room was in great shape, but what stood out was the breakfast service and especially Helen. She was incredibly helpful, communicative, friendly and worked very hard to make everyone feel welcome. On Sunday morning the crew were down a staff member and Helen and her colleague were running all around to keep everyone satisfied in a very busy morning breakfast. Thank you.

I understand that the property had been renovated. The room looked okay, I found dried crusty blood stains on the bedsheets. The room walls are thin, needless to say everyone screaming at each other in the room next door (probably high on **** and alcohol) at 1 am in the morning is my nightly entertainment? Only 2 sets of towels and this new eco-friendly policy means you don't get any new towels unless you ask and then nobody shows up. The toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken, I had to flush the toilet a couple of times for it to work. The shower is nice and spacious. The cleaning crew must have been understaffed, because there was mold in between the shower tiles. There is no functioning ventilation in the bathroom. The air conditioning, when and if it works, is super loud. Upon arrival it was set to 72, I tried changing it to 68, but it jumped back to 72. TV was working, unlike the remote, some keys were just dead. The room smelled musty. No microwave, the fridge was not cooling either. I thought maybe the ice machine on the 5th floor could cool my water down a little. Come to find out that the ice machine wasn't working and from the looks of it, it never has! Also, the ice machine room looks like World War 2 has left its mark. The ceiling is about to fall down and it's dirty. The hallway has nice carpet but again, the cleaning crew might not be fully staffed and dirty fries were left all over the hallway (5th floor). I see that the hotel has a non-smoking policy. This may apparently only apply to cigarettes. Floor 5 and 12 reek of ********* so badly, it creeps into the rooms and makes a good night sleep close to impossible. It's not a whiff you get from someone who has recently smoked walking by, it comes from the rooms. It is utterly disgusting and Hilton should be ashamed. The staff at the front desk is jaded and rude, I'd be too if I had to deal with what's coming through that hotel. Breakfast doesn't open until 7am which didn't work for us because we came for a business trip and had to leave the hotel by 7am. Also, breakfast is not included in the $700 for 2 nights. Instead you choose from 3 or 4 overpriced omelets from a menu. $40 for 2 mini omelets and a cup of coffee. It didn't taste too bad but that price is not justified. Also, the breakfast room is way too dark. I could barely see the food in front of me. Parking is an insult to be honest. Philly is not a safe city and for $700 for 2 nights I would have expected parking at the hotel or at least covered parking that is being monitored at no extra charge. Instead, you can drive 1500 yards down the road to an open parking lot that will cost you $13 a night ($15 if you use a valet). It is not monitored, no security and any random person can walk in there and wreak havoc. Shameful. Overall, not a Hilton experience, for the price I paid I would have expected service which I didn't get. Never again and I am hoping other Hilton properties aren't so shameful.

Excellent customer service experience with front desk even when having issues went above and beyond to accommodate would definitely love to come back.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you have a car and don’t want to worry about parking. Parking does cost $14 a day however. It’s conveniently located next to a Target and their is a supermarket about a 5 min drive away. The gym facilities were very nice. If you want to use the pool you have to reserve an hour time slot. There’s no complimentary breakfast but there were granola bars to grab as snacks. Overall I enjoyed my stay

Booked this for a friend. I highly appreciate the great communication with the manager. We initially booked for 2 nights, but because my friend lost his flight connection, only managed to arrive for the second night. We were given a refund for the night that my friend did not spend there because of the flight change. From what my friend said, I understood that he enjoyed his stay at Goodseed Suites. He mentioned that it is very clean and comfortable. So we're very happy and would definitely book again and we highly recommend Goodseed Suites in Philadelphia.

Good for university, pretty easy to get other places too. Room was nice and clean and comfy Staff were beautiful and polite Hotel was all clean and nice, elevators to lobby and upper floors were sometimes slow.

Okay, get ready for some considerable praise, but first, let me provide some background. My girlfriend and I occasionally come to Philadelphia and prefer to stay at mid-tier (3-star) hotels such as Best Western, Hampton Inn, or a boutique near the historic area of the city. This time out we were looking for a mid-tier hotel close to the museum and Eastern Penitentiary for their Halloween event. It was easy to find The Maj Hotel through an online search as it had received an abundance of positive reviews. This was one of the best-rated mid-range hotels in the city. It soon became obvious to us why. In short, our stay at the Maj Hotel was spectacular. I'll give you some tips to make your stay even more worthwhile... We booked our stay online. The hotel did an excellent job of sending us text messages to remind us of our stay. This included the ability to check in online, I believe the day before the stay. You fill out your personal information, take a photo of your driver's license, and submit it. The idea behind this is to skip the check-in at the desk and go straight to your room where your phone gets used as a digital key. It did not exactly work out that way, however. For some reason, we still had to go to the front desk, show our license, and were given key cards to the room. Not a big deal, but it made me wonder why we had to do the process twice. There have been some reviews complaining digital keys via phone did not work so perhaps this was a workaround until the system was fixed. In any event, backtracking a bit, we arrived at the hotel early in the morning, hours before check-in to drop off our luggage. The front door of the hotel is always locked, which is odd. You need to ring a bell and someone will open the door for you. It was at that moment we met Esmeralda, the front desk clerk, who was happy to store our bags for the day so we could go sightseeing. We couldn't understand why a hotel would lock its front door, but as we walked around the city, we saw a good amount of homeless people and it occurred to us the hotel was taking necessary security measures. There are a few a la carte upgrades you can do through the app, one of which is to select an earlier check-in, which we opted to do. Check-in is at 4 pm. We paid $20 to do a 3 pm check-in. That money was refunded the next day by Esmeralda who explained that if the room is ready an hour before check-in, they will waive the extra fee and allow their guests to check-in early. Kudos to the hotel for doing that and the generosity was greatly appreciated. Being the huge tech guy that I am, I was quite pleased with the room, which is filled with modernized gadgets. The shades and lights are controlled by buttons. The thermostat is modernized and easy to adjust. The shower has wide heads and hand-held extensions. We’re so glad we found a comfortable and friendly hotel in Philly when visiting our kids who attend a nearby college. Our last stay was fantastic, thanks to hotel manager Nicole and her excellent team, who really made us feel at home. Our room was perfect and it was so nice that they were able to accommodate our request for a certain floor and view. We were even welcomed back with a handwritten note in our room. We are most likely forgetting some of the wonderful team members here, but Montrose, Alesha, Sheyenne, and Daoud were really helpful and very friendly at the front desk and concierge desk. Also great were Jackie, Teresa, and others in the club lounge. Service in the club lounge was excellent, even when things got busy, and the food was good, too, with a number of options to choose from. Between the friendly staff, personal attention, and proximity to both university city and center city, we know we will be back!

Excellent stay from beginning to end! Property was ideally located right outside the city and adjacent to the University of Penn. I really appreciated the adequate supply of good restaurants and the youthful vibe. Deno at the front desk was professional, personable, affable, knowledgeable and accommodating. I came in earlier than check in time due to a red eye flight that I had taken. He gave me a room that just happened to be cleaned and available. Thanks that allowed me to catch up on a couple hours of sleep which really helped make a difference in my trip👍👍 Breakfast was excellent! I will definitely return and this is from a 13 year former head-waiter at a Ritz Carlton in California who knows what service is about. Great job again for exceeding my expectations!!👍👍👍
