The nozzle in the room is bad and can't hang, and the big nozzles are all iron pillars. There is nothing for breakfast for 38 people, especially fooling things. A little dish. Too satisfied, I heard that I came with my husband in Beijing, and I specially upgraded a suite for free. The room was large and the stay was very comfortable! Dinner was eaten at the hotel, there is a separate restaurant, the price is very affordable, the food is very delicious, especially recommended pot meat, it is recommended! Breakfast is very hygienic and delicious

The door face is not big, there is no elevator, walk up the second floor.
The boss is a young couple, with a male child, their family is very friendly. Smiling, like the guests at home.
Datong tap water is not good, the young couple provides free buckets of water for guests.
The rooms are clean and have a generous table, which is very convenient for self-driving tours (more things).
Next time I go to Datong, I still live in Xiayang Hotel. It is not to run wrong, Datong has two ”Xiayang”, this is the mining area.

The servixe staffs at the hotel is very helpful in attending to our queries. It provides laundry services which make it very convenient. The only setback is that there is only 2 lifts so if you are staying in high floor, will need to wait for longer time to take the lift.

Pipa old Inn is located in Datong Ancient City which is surrounded by four walls. It is about 50m from Bell Tower. Stop at Bell Tower and walk 50m to Pipa Old Inn.

GGuest UserExcellent. Done in the traditional hotel style but with very modern in-room amenities. Bathroom is clean and private, with nice shower including good quality—free flow—shampoo and bodywash, clean toilet and a proper door (no glass bathrooms here!). It’s so hard to find a hotel room like this these days. Most importantly, all the staff were totally amazing, and the manager is so friendly and keen to help and can speak some English which makes things all the easier. There are quite a few shaokao and noodle places around the hotel, and importantly, the snowman drink place (蜜雪冰城) is not too far away! The hotel is just a couple of Ks south of the most popular entrance to the amazing ancient wall (大同古城), and in the other direction, about five hundred metres to another nice park called Mingtan Park where I flew my new drone for the first time ever while a local man practiced perfectly his Taoist meditation completely undeterred by the annoying whirring sound of the drone! My only regret is not planning more than a single night here. There’s so much more to Datong than just the Yungang Grottoes and the Hengshan Hanging Temple (though they are both totally spectacular!), so stay a couple of nights at least if you can.

Fantastic service, friendly, helpful, very clean and spacious rooms, really nice view over the river and at night with all of the lights. Breakfast is good, the facilities are clean and presentable. The room was quiet and the window can be opened if you want fresh air or to cool down the room a bit, the ac works too to cool it down in winter but that’s recirculated air with some people smoking in non-smoking rooms (typical). Our room did not smell which was great and although we had neighbours we could not hear them, so good for light sleepers. Only downside is the bed is firm. Quick 10 minute didi to the ancient city, malls, delicious lunch and food places. The hotel organised a driver to take us to the hanging temple, yungang grottoes and then to a delicious local restaurant very affordable, helpful, reliable and kind driver (WeChat: 永恒). Also recommend going to the art gallery and museum only 10 mins away. It’s a good location.

From the moment you step into the hotel lobby, you can feel the warm service attitude of the hotel staff. Whether it's the polite reception by the bellman or the meticulous attention to detail at the front desk, every detail reveals the hotel's respect and care for its guests. This kind of enthusiasm is not limited to the front desk. The floor attendants and lobby managers also make people feel at home: the temperature is cooling down today and the wind is very windy outside. When we arrived, the doorman took the initiative to help arrange parking spaces. Knowing that we had a lot of luggage, he helped push the luggage trolley. I discovered that another helpful gentleman was the lobby manager. Mr. Yang, who came over all the way, learned that we were traveling to Datong and enthusiastically told us that if we went to see the ancient capital lantern festival, the hotel had a free round-trip line; as soon as we checked in at the lobby, we watched the warm Tea and hand towels; special thanks to Mr. Yang Wenyuan, the lobby manager
There were even more surprises in the room. All toiletries are from the L'Occitane brand, providing guests with a high-quality experience. In addition, the hotel has also carefully prepared children's dental kits and slippers, fully considering the needs of families with children. There are also small lucky bags placed in the room, which are full of the charm of traditional Chinese culture, allowing people to feel the strong festive atmosphere during the journey.
Standing in front of the window, the beautiful scenery outside the window is even more refreshing. Datong Yungang Hotel is not only a place to stay, but also a leisure place where people can relax and enjoy life.
So far, the only drawback is the placement and privacy of the bathtub in the room. It is not convenient for the whole family to travel together.

The boss also gave me a fruit plate and a set of small tea sets. The next day, the aunt at the front desk wanted to give it to me, but I said it had already been given to me. It was so warm. QQingchengxianshengDatong has four days and three nights, and I stayed in a hotel every day. This is the first one. I stayed in this hotel many years ago. It seemed to be a Holiday Inn brand before, but now it has changed to this name. The hotel is located next to the main road, with convenient transportation and close to the ancient city. Compared with the previous stay, it feels a lot different, especially the service. I feel like I can't afford to offend them.
Facilities: Maybe it's a few years old, the facilities and equipment are relatively old, the sound insulation in the room is not particularly good, and you can hear the sound of plugging and unplugging appliances next door when you sit at the table.
Hygiene: The overall hygiene is okay, but some details need attention
Environment: Although it is away from the main road, it is relatively quiet.
Service: I have to complain about this. The room service is very reluctant, especially asking for things. I wanted to put the beds together in the twin room I booked, but they said directly that we can't do it. I have stayed in so many hotels, and I can put the beds together, but I am not happy here. I can only put the beds together by myself, and then restore them to their original state when I leave, for fear of being criticized.

GGuest UserThis hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

VVSTWe enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍
This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14.
Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about ½ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan.

SSuishichuzouAlthough the room is not big, the bathroom is very convenient in the room. The lady boss is super nice and handles all problems immediately. If there are mosquitoes, they will provide electronic mosquito coils immediately, and if you need a hair dryer, they will be provided immediately!
In Datong Ancient Town, it is very convenient to go to many attractions. The ancient city itself does not charge extra fees. Only the larger attractions will charge additional tickets. It is very convenient to eat/shopping. However, you cannot rent bicycles in the ancient city. It’s particularly interesting to communicate with other bedmates and get first-hand information.
In particular, there is a shaved noodle shop on the second floor that is particularly delicious! The first floor is a Hanfu rental shop!
