Dirty condition. Faulty heating & cooling. Our room stay at 77-78 degrees. Cob webs on ceiling, reddish blood like stains on carpet in front of bed, heavy dust on bed board frame. Weak water pressure.
The staff tried (in a hurry) to fix all of the above. The maintenance swiftly tried to repair the temperature control, compression.
The Manager was very kind and tried to make it right,
I will NOT be able to sleep tonight!

My hotel king bed, two-room suite was fabulous. The 2nd room had a queen or king pull-out sofa bed. A 55" flat-screen tv in both rooms. There was a fridge and microwave hidden behind a closed-cabinet door. Also coffee and bottled water. A clean, spacious bathroom that came with enough towels, body lotion and soap, shampoo/conditioner, and blow dryer. No shower cap. Also bedroom closet came with a safe, iron and board. There was a choice of in-room or restaurant dining. The stay had a home-away-from home feel to it. My next stay in Detroit, will definitely be at the Doubletree Hotel. Forgot to mention the 2 big warm, chocolate-chip cookies they give their guests upon arrival. Mmmm, mmmm good.

The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel was clean, and my room was spacious. They cleaned my room every day. The Starbucks inside the hotel was an added bonus. Overall, my stay was a truly wonderful experience. Again, hats off to the staff! I will be back to Beautiful city of Detroit...and I will stay at Fort Shelby. Thank you :) If you visit...hop on Scooter and explore the city! Best experience ever.
