Although it is called a hostel, you get your own room with a shared bathroom. I was sharing this with one other room. It is very clean, has friendly staff and is very central to amenities and railway station. I would recommend staying here if you are on a budget.

Very clean, friendly staff. Good location. Nice furniture. Highly recommend. Staff very helpfull. Good breakfast. Quiet. Very near to the coastline. John Muir way can be walked from here. Good food, nice fish and chips shop at the end of highstreet

As always, it was a great stay, friendly staff, clean comfortable room and it's so nice that you always get chatting to people in the kitchen/ dining area. This is the fourth time we have stayed here and it's always been a great experience. We will undoubtedly return and I would thoroughly recommend this independent hostel as a place to stay.

Amazing cool vintage place with great decor, our room was beautiful with views and happy yellow walls and a record player. Dining room and kitchen wonderful with vintage things, lots of love put in this place. Clean, bright and welcoming with a feeling of home.

The Dolphin Inn is an excellent place to stay. The friendly staff catered thoughtfully for our large group and the facilities surpassed our expections. Highly recommended and a great stop-off point for people walking the John Muir Way or visiting Dunbar for any other purpose.

Had an overnight stay recently with our 8 year old. It's a brilliant hostel, very stylish and cool. There are lots of amazing details around the whole place and in the rooms. We were in the family suite, which is huge and can sleep 8. Brilliant to have a record player with a small record collection in the room. We absolutely loved staying here. It's in a fantastic location very close to the train station. We would have liked to have used the courtyard, but the weather was unfortunately not great while we were there. 100% recommend this place, it's fantastic and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent facilities. Close to train station. Great base for going into Edinburgh or exploring the coast. Breakfast and tea/coffee included was a lovely touch. Loved the decorations and extra touches like record players in your room. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A family-friendly hostel. Staff take time to help out and there are good facilities for breakfast. Think of Rivendell in the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings and you have the Dolphin Inn: it is a place of peace where you are surrounded by other peaceful guests. I have 9 children and they all loved it. I particularly liked the space downstairs which allowed a large family to sustain itself.

Spotlessly clean, basic but attractive, and very comfortable. Friendly other guests. Five minute walk from station. Good relations with other tourism businesses locally. Coffee on tap :-) Landlady couldn’t have been more helpful with luggage, bike storage and other special requests. (Lockable bike cabinets available.) Extra special treats just because we’d been in a tent for a week before arriving ＜3
