It was past 10 o'clock when we arrived in Dunhuang in the evening. The hotel we booked before was canceled because the smell in the room was too strong and we were traveling with elderly people and children. We temporarily booked a nearby Yunjing Hotel on Ctrip. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. She showed us the room and upgraded us to a parent-child room after seeing that we were bringing elderly children with us. The brothers that own the place are extremely friendly and helped drive us around to everything from the sights to their food recommendations that were all delicious. Not to mention beer, fruit and other drinks are all included at the hotel free of charge! It’s also walking distance to the oasis. To any foreigner wanting to travel here, these guys make it so easy and stress free, it’s worth it for them, plus there’s a place to swim amongst the heat and great air conditioning. You can see the dunes from the roof of the hotel too, where there’s tables and chairs to relax for a drink. Would come again in a heart beat.
