Our stay was rather good, with a few minor observations. The hotel is an older property, though fairly well maintained. It appears they are working to modernize and maintain. The hotel is located in a great location with easy access to transit and downtown. Our room was clean and pleasant! I want to say it is a little dated, but I absolutely love it. The bed was super comfortable too. The room had limited outlet access for charging our many devices, especially near the bed. Not a big deal though. The other thing that I could have easily had them take care of, but wasn’t a big deal. They provided two bath towels, one of which was super tiny and something you’d find in an economy hotel. It was fine and I could have easily called down for more. The staff were all friendly. The front desk staff were nice and pleasant. Perhaps a little overwhelmed at times. If and when I am back in Edmonton, this property is on the top of my list of hotels to stay.

The location of the hotel is not bad, the room is relatively large, each bed in the twin room is 1.5 meters, and parking is free. If it is not enough, it should be that the hotel is relatively old. Well, the valet & front desk staff were cordial, the room was quite small with a weird sliding window between the sink & the bed, the special big ice they encourage you to order doesn't fit in any of the glasses provided in the room...the room service was hit & miss...the workout area was absolutely AMAZING though...world class... The lobby bar is quite crafty/cold in winter...almost everyone had their coats on...the bartender was excellent! All in all not good value for your dollar...

The location is pretty good. I stayed for two nights, but there were a lot of homeless people downstairs. It was difficult to go out when it got dark, so I had to eat at the restaurant on the fifth floor. There is a free parking lot at the door, which is more convenient. It is closer to the river on foot during the day, which is convenient for travel. , many hotels nearby

The hotel is just strategically located and convenient for shopping. Nothing else is good! The rooms are outdated, the sanitation is average, the service attitude is not good, there is no feeling of a star hotel at all! You can't get good floors and rooms when you book on Ctrip! We stayed at the Matrix in August when we travelled to Edmonton to bring our daughter back for University. The location is a great central point for us to go to the University of Alberta campus. The added bonus was the breakfast in the morning. Lots of choices of breakfast options and a seating area. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Never picked this hotel for my stay as it was pre-booked but I was impressed the minute I walked in. Staff was friendly and my check in process was quick and easy and even walked to the elevator. Room was spacious and clean, bed was big and soft! I will stay here again when I'm in town for personal reasons for sure!

Breakfast is a typical continental breakfast, but there are a wide range of fruits, dairy products and bread. The reception is very friendly and valet parking is very convenient. It is very close to Albert University Hospital and within walking distance.
