Guest UserPros:
1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable.
2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy!
3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms.
4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty.
Cons:
1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room.
2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee.
3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable.
Overall, we were still very satisfied. I imagine it would be even more atmospheric to visit in winter for the hot springs, though I expect it would be extremely crowded.

Chia Kuek Siong1. The friendly service attitude of the hotel staff was the first thing I appreciated most.
2. The architectural style of the hotel's courtyard (siheyuan) was a highlight I had to discover myself, rather than it being prominently advertised by the hotel. This was a bit of a shame, but I truly loved the traditional Beijing siheyuan feel.
3. The hotel is located in the most secluded corner of the Water Town area, offering a quiet and serene environment, which I really liked.
4. Although the hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance and the bustling Sun and Moon Island, the electric shuttle service provided by the park is excellent. This made it very convenient to return to the hotel to rest or to depart from the hotel to explore various scenic spots.
5. The breakfast was simple but offered a good variety, including vegetables and meat, both Chinese and Western options, three types of fruit, and American coffee from a bean-to-cup machine. Food items were replenished continuously, and the dining environment was comfortable and cozy.
6. The hotel is situated right next to the entrance of Simatai Great Wall, the park's main attraction, making it very convenient to return to the hotel after an evening tour.
7. It would be even better if hotel guests received more discounts for visiting attractions or dining at restaurants, especially if there were greater specials for dining at the hotel itself. This would definitely encourage more in-house guests to dine there.
8. A special thank you to the lady at the front desk for her incredibly thoughtful and detailed service on our check-out day. She helped us with our luggage and arranged for the shuttle to take us to the first parking lot. My wife and I were very touched by her warm service.

It was freezing outside in winter, but super warm inside – I felt like I could wear a T-shirt, the air conditioning was excellent. The service was generally great. My child threw a beanbag up onto the ceiling, which was about three or four meters high, and the hotel staff even managed to get it down for us. I'm very grateful for that. I deducted 0.5 points for service because the front desk staff seemed clueless; when I asked where to feed the alpacas, they said they didn't know and that it was handled by the hot springs area, implying it wasn't under their management. They mentioned the hot springs and entertainment were outsourced. However, we found the alpacas just a short distance outside the hotel lobby entrance, along with geese, ducks, and chickens. There were three large and two small alpacas, and they were adorable. Do bring them some carrots and greens; they looked quite hungry. For breakfast, go early, before 8 AM, as it's very abundant. If you go later, you'll miss out on the delicious cream cakes. Dinner was a buffet due to New Year's, and the seafood was quite fresh for the hotpot. The hot springs were a bit crowded, but the kids had a good time, mostly hitting each other with ocean balls. There weren't many indoor hot spring pools, making it a bit cramped. The temperatures were all high, but it was very clean. They said there were outdoor pools too, but we didn't go as it was too cold.

Guest UserEven though the hotel is a bit old, it's very well-maintained. We arrived on a rainy day and stayed in (thanks to Kong Kong for the warm hospitality and upgrade!), enjoying the breeze on the balcony. But I didn't expect the next day, with the sun out, to be even more comfortable. I wish I had booked an extra night (thanks again to the professional Kong Kong) 😄😄. See the pictures for details.
P.S. Although I haven't actively pursued Globalist status, the Hyatt brand consistently impresses me, whether in Hong Kong, Sanya, or Beijing. I'll definitely be back.

The rooms are clean and tidy, and come with a balcony. When checking in, you need to register your vehicle to park in the underground parking lot 🅿️, otherwise, you might be charged a parking fee. We had three king-size rooms, and 1119 had the best view, overlooking the lake from the balcony, with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room directly opposite could see the golf course behind, which was great for sunset views. The bathroom and bathtub are in separate spaces opposite each other, designed with two sinks for simultaneous use. The front desk is on the second floor, and the connecting corridor to the hot spring ♨️ is also on the same floor, though it's a bit of a walk. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor. Complimentary fruit was provided in the room.

Every time I visit Wuzhen, I stay at Yushe. I'm quite familiar with it, which makes things easier.
The room facilities and hygiene are generally good. The food and service haven't changed much over time; they're consistently decent.
Regarding the wooden stool in the private hot spring tub, I'd suggest that housekeeping remove it during cleaning to drain and dry it. Every time I stay, I have to take it out and rinse it myself to wash off the black fibrous material that accumulates on the legs.
This time, I felt that some of the staff in the restaurant, at the front desk, and in housekeeping might be new (both male and female). Their communication was a bit stiff – like they were unfamiliar with the situation, easily startled, and nervous. While understandable, it was noticeable to have several such instances.
Wuzhen is beautiful in all seasons. Coming during off-peak times for a relaxing stay is very stress-relieving.

Guest UserFinally checked into the Commune by the Great Wall, a Hyatt Centric property – specifically, the Bamboo House. This stay completely exceeded my expectations, so I'm sharing an honest review for anyone considering a visit.
The exterior features tightly packed natural bamboo poles, complemented by a black sloping roof. Walking along the forest path, you can see the building softly blending into the mountains and woods from a distance, without appearing out of place at all.
The most stunning feature is the independent outdoor bamboo tea room. Bamboo columns enclose a semi-transparent space with white sand covering the ground. Through the bamboo gaps, you can gaze at the mountains and forest. Sitting quietly and enjoying tea here creates an incredibly atmospheric experience, perfect for photos.
The public areas boast large floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the green trees outside like natural landscape paintings. During the day, light and shadows filter into the rooms through the bamboo poles, creating ever-changing scenery.
Practical Tips for Your Stay:
1. The room offers excellent privacy. It's a standalone building surrounded by dense trees, away from the hustle and bustle of public areas. It's ideal for those seeking quiet relaxation, couples on a getaway, or small gatherings of friends.
2. The building materials are natural bamboo, so there's a natural bamboo and wood scent. If you're sensitive to slight color variations or textures in natural materials, please be aware of this beforehand. The gaps in the bamboo create a soft, translucent feel; if you require ultimate privacy, simply pull down the indoor blackout blinds.
3. The hotel is located in a valley, so the temperature difference between morning/evening and daytime is greater than in the city. Remember to bring a light jacket if you plan to sit in the outdoor tea room in the evening.
4. The resort grounds are very large. I recommend driving in, as walking to and from the restaurant can be quite far. For dining, you can choose the hotel's restaurant or bring your own snacks and enjoy them in the outdoor tea room.
Areas for Improvement:
When I checked in, the room had just been cleaned, and there was still water on the floor, suggesting a rushed and less-than-thorough cleaning.
The 'Old Beijing style' afternoon tea, which looked great for photos in the lobby, consisted of pre-bought items of generally mediocre quality.

Guest UserWe had such a fantastic time bringing our child to the Le Du Port Marriott this trip! My child was participating in a robotics competition, and after adding the hotel's butler, Skyller, on WeChat, they pre-checked us in so my child could rest during lunchtime. We learned it was also my child's birthday that day, and they even prepared balloons and a small cake, which made my child incredibly happy. Any requests were promptly addressed. A huge thumbs up to Skyller! 👍 The room was spacious and clean, and the children's amenities were thoughtfully prepared; the small slippers and toothbrush made my child feel really involved. Breakfast offered a wide variety, and there was even a dedicated children's serving area, making mealtime enjoyable for my little one and stress-free for us. The pool temperature was just right for splashing around and enjoying the hot springs with the kids, plus there's a children's play area. It was a truly special birthday, and the attention to detail in the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this to families looking for a 'one-stop' destination for kids around Beijing.

This is our third year coming to Gaoshan Ski Resort, and we stayed multiple times last year. This year, we booked a continuous stay. The front desk service is genuinely excellent. We happened to encounter a price adjustment during our stay, which led to more questions on our end. Each time we bothered the front desk, they were incredibly patient and amiable in resolving our issues. They were also very efficient and exceeded our expectations. Last year, the parking lot security guard made the best impression on me, and I was surprised to see him again this year. We even chatted with the shuttle bus driver. This year truly exceeded all expectations, and we'll definitely be back next winter.
The only minor drawback was the inconsistent translation for the 'Xueyan Hall' (Snow Swallow Hall). Some places used Pinyin, others English, one spot even had 'Xueyan Hall' written in Chinese, and there was an English spelling error with a space in the middle of a word. I hope this can be corrected. Given that it represents the country's image, such basic mistakes should really be fixed.
Heituo Mountain after a snowfall is absolutely stunning. The 'Heituo Ink Painting' lives up to its reputation; it's truly a dreamlike sight.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! You can reach the foot of the Great Wall in just two minutes. The room was super clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. My in-laws, who were traveling with me, loved just relaxing in the armchair by the window, breathing in the fresh air, so much so that they said there was no need to even climb the Great Wall – just staying at the hotel was a treat in itself. There's also an adorable tabby cat at the hotel that loves getting belly rubs. Dining was convenient too; Yanxi Fishing Village is right in the courtyard, and the food portions were generous. After we came back from the Great Wall, we rested at the hotel, and the staff even thoughtfully brought us afternoon tea. It was such a warm gesture and really helped to wash away the fatigue from climbing the Wall. The scenery at Mutianyu is just beautiful! We'll definitely be back, and when we return, we'll stay here again and come to pet your cat once more!
