The hosts are very friendly and welcoming people — they explained where everything is located and even gave me a small gift when I was leaving. They met me and walked me to the city gate.
The hotel itself is a small family-run place with a cozy inner courtyard. It’s about 600–800 meters from the main streets, so the atmosphere is calm and quiet. The room was spacious and quite clean. The kang bed is on the firm side — be prepared for that — but for me it was perfectly fine.
Overall, this place was the best option in terms of value for money.

GGuest UserDuring the Chinese New Year, I decided to visit the renowned Pingyao Ancient City and carefully chose the Yushe Boutique Hotel. The day before our arrival, someone from the hotel contacted us to offer a pick-up service and even sent us a detailed list of suggestions for exploring the ancient city – truly thoughtful! The owner's sister, who picked us up, meticulously introduced us to the history of the ancient city and current conditions over the next two days. Upon arrival, the owner's brother was equally thorough, demonstrating the diligent character typical of Shanxi people! Our family of four's room was impeccable in terms of space, cleanliness, and bedding. Later, chatting with the owner, I learned they operate with the quality standards of Atour Hotels, which explained why the sleep was so comfortable.
One evening, the water pressure for the kids' shower was a bit low. The next morning, I spoke to the owner's brother, who explained it was due to the high volume of tourists in the ancient city causing low water pressure. They later installed a booster pump and resolved the issue!
Finally, before leaving, we bought some wine and vinegar from the owner after tasting them all – they were delicious. And to top it off, the owner kindly drove us to the train station! Many, many thanks!

GGuest UserI was so touched! Right after I got off the high-speed train, the inn owner was already waiting for me by the roadside in his car. Since cars can't enter the ancient city gate, the owner switched to an electric scooter and continued to take me to the inn, free of charge. The proprietress helped me carry my luggage to the second floor, which I felt really bad about, but was deeply moved by! I absolutely love the style of this room. After check-in, the proprietress grabbed a map and meticulously explained tips for exploring Pingyao Ancient City and important details to note, making everything very clear. I love Shanxi; I felt such attentive care here. When it was time to leave, the owner offered to drive me to the high-speed train station again. I felt embarrassed and decided to leave early and take a taxi to the station myself, then informed the owner via WeChat. He immediately asked if I had gotten into the car yet, offering to drive me if I hadn't. Oh, I was so moved! I told him I had really gotten into a car and didn't need him to drive, wishing his business prosperity and continued success! For anyone planning a trip to Pingyao Ancient City, choose this place; it's very reliable, you won't go wrong!

GGuest UserI've traveled to many places, and this stay was truly wonderful, exceeding my expectations. Even before we arrived, the owner's thoughtfulness impressed me. They added me on WeChat to communicate in advance, and when they learned we had an elderly person with mobility issues, they arranged a wheelchair for us, saving us a lot of trouble. I'm so grateful! 🙏 The room hygiene was impeccable; every nook and cranny was spotless. I'll let you in on a secret: the owner is a Virgo, haha! This is a guesthouse with warmth and a personal touch. Go for it, everyone!

TTanluzheWsI am from Shanxi, and this time I went home to bring my father-in-law, mother-in-law and relatives from other places to visit. The boss is a local and very nice. It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great 👍. The first photo is inside the inn.

GGuest UserTaking the high-speed train from Taiyuan South, it's a 31-minute direct ride to the ancient city. A smooth bus ride on route 3 takes you to the South Gate, where the majestic 'Four-Province Thoroughfare' city tower immediately transports you back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. I checked into Yunshu Inn, and to my delight, the owner, Mr. Liu, very thoughtfully upgraded me to a Ming and Qing style room in Jinxiu Tangyuan. He also proactively provided a map and explained the attractions, showing great attention to detail. Staying right in the heart of the ancient city, exploring, eating, enjoying the sights and the light show, everything felt convenient and smooth. Every step was pure bliss. Pingyao's charm began the moment I checked in here! (Afternoon, November 14, 202***: Pingyao Ancient City, Shanxi)

GGuest UserWe booked two rooms together. The owner helped us with our luggage at the entrance of the old town. Upon entering, he offered us homemade wine and vinegar to try, which we found quite nice. The rooms were nice, with a rest area on the first floor and a sleeping area on the second. I would definitely choose this place again next time I visit.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. The price is very favorable and only tens of dollars, which is really good value for money. I especially recommend everyone to stay and experience

LLiza MartinsI never felt so welcomed as I felt here. I was treated as family. They took care of me the entire time. They took me to the Pharmacy, offer me dinner, allowed me a late check out and took me to the train station. The place is amazing. A historical building, with 2 gardens and rooms decorated as we were centuries ago. I loved my room. Spacious, cozy, beautiful, full of details. It’s 2 minutes from the principal streets, but quite. I am traveling China for 3 weeks already and honestly, I feel that all the chineses are amazing. But this family is even better than anyone else I met on my way. Thank you 🙏 See you soon

MMartinThe host were nice and friendly. They speak no English but they use and app for basic translations. The room is good value for money. Modern and clean, with good architectural finishes. They don't provide towels, shampoo and so. No air conditioner either, thou I asked for a fan and they gave it to me and it was perfect like that. Location wasn't so easy to find, the access road can be either dusty or muddy depending on the weather.
It's about 15 minutes walk to the north gate of ancient Pingyao city wall. I would recommend specially to couples as it's the same price as for solo travellers. (I guess the price is per room) They didn't ask for a deposit as written in their policies, which is a plus. I attach a plan explaining how to best get there. Recommended.
