"An absolutely wonderful experience! The entire hotel was designed by Singapore's Temasek Group and is seamlessly integrated with the Panmen Scenic Area. The hotel itself is built around a traditional Chinese garden layout, cleverly concealing eight distinct attractions. Its back entrance leads directly into the Panmen Scenic Area, and with your hotel key card, you get unlimited access throughout the day, along with services like Hanfu rental. The hotel itself is impeccable, with top-notch amenities, including the pool and gym. The customer service staff are also very professional. I noticed many foreigners, especially Singaporeans, staying here. The only minor drawback is that the rooms are spread across multiple buildings, making the hotel quite large. On my first visit, it took me a while to navigate from the front desk to my room. Also, the front desk is on the 3rd floor, while the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors, which can be a bit confusing when coming and going."

The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. "Located in the heart of Suzhou, right next to Pingjiang Road, Shuxiang Fudi Pingjiang Mansion is a hotel nestled within a classical Suzhou garden. Compared to my previous stay at Nan Yuan Hotel, this location is much closer to Pingjiang Road, making it more convenient to explore the surrounding gardens. The handsome young man at the front desk had excellent service skills! They even upgraded my room for my birthday. Upon entering the Tianxiang VIP room, a subtle woody fragrance enveloped me, accompanied by the swaying greenery outside the window. The tea set on the wooden table was warm and inviting, and there were books about Suzhou on the bookshelf. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping felt like living inside an unfolded scroll detailing a Suzhou garden."

The Garden Hotel Suzhou (Nanyuan Binguan) was once the private garden of Mr. Jiang Jie Shi. The hotel underwent an RMB 2.6 billion renovation in 2005. This Suzhou hotel is within a stone's throw from world cultural heritage sites like the Master-of-Nets Garden and the Canglang Pavilion. The hotel is the largest Chinese garden style hotel in the city center, from which guests may conveniently access the Suzhou train station and bus station.Chinese cuisine and Western cuisine are available on-site, along with room service and a coffee shop. The hotel also has a bar where guests can socialize over a drink. This Suzhou hotel hosts a large ballroom, two reception rooms and three function rooms. It is an ideal place for weddings, meetings, exhibitions and other functions. Guests can relax buy getting a massage, using the steamy sauna, working out by using the fitness facilities or playing a game of tennis.

"After a refreshing nap, I was energized enough to explore the Nan Yuan Hotel. This used to be Chiang Wei-kuo's former residence and is the city's only garden-style guesthouse, essentially a Suzhou-style garden you can stay in. It has everything you'd expect: rockeries, ponds, winding bridges, and waterside pavilions. The best part? No tourists. The garden was perfectly peaceful, with only the sound of birds and the rustle of wind through the bamboo leaves. My mom finally relaxed, saying, 'Now *this* is how you enjoy a garden!' I laughed, thinking about how we paid to see crowds this morning, and now we've got peace and quiet for free. You really can't predict how things will turn out in life."

"The inn's location is fantastic, directly across from the Lion Grove Garden, and very close to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, making sightseeing incredibly convenient! I had originally booked the smallest room in the inn. When I arrived, I asked the owner if a free upgrade was possible, as many guests had mentioned being upgraded. Without a second thought, the owner immediately upgraded me to the largest room—the service was truly exceptional! The room decor was beautiful, especially the large bed, which perfectly embodies classical Chinese aesthetics. There was also a tatami tea table and a small arhat bed. The front desk even provides a sewing kit for mending clothes, all of which speaks volumes about the owner's excellent service. I'm definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou."

"I chose the Qiyu Pai Resort Hotel for my trip to Suzhou's Shantang Street this time, and I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Suzhou. The hotel boasts an excellent location, close to Shilu subway station, and just a few minutes' walk to Shantang Street, making it super convenient for evening strolls and trying local food. The rooms blend Japanese and Suzhou design, are clean, tidy, and spacious, and come with a separate bathtub – perfect for soaking away travel fatigue. The soundproofing throughout the hotel is excellent, providing a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, ensuring a very restful sleep. The hotel's Suzhou-style breakfast offers a wide variety, with freshly made Suzhou noodles that are authentic and delicious. Plus, the rooftop terrace provides stunning views of the ancient city's sunset, creating a fantastic photo opportunity. The only minor drawback was that the shower water temperature occasionally fluctuated, making it a bit tricky to adjust. However, this is a small flaw that doesn't detract from the overall experience. With attentive concierge service and excellent value for money, I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou."

"The room was exceptionally good, very clean, and had a charming courtyard style that truly evoked the feel of Suzhou in the Jiangnan region. Facilities were complete, and the mini-fridge stocked with drinks and water was a refreshing touch during the scorching summer. We even received a welcome gift upon entering. The hotel is conveniently located, not far from various attractions, with Pingjiang Road just a few minutes' walk away. My only minor regret is that taxis can't drop you off directly at the entrance; you have to walk a short distance from the street corner. This is understandable, though, as many Suzhou courtyard-style accommodations are nestled within alleys."

"The room was great! Even though the hotel opened in 2018 or 2019, the facilities don't feel dated at all. The front desk staff were very attentive, offering thoughtful services like recommending attractions. It's also a moderate distance from the attractions in Gusu District, so overall, it was a really good experience. Just wanted to add one more thing! In my opinion, buildings in Suzhou generally aren't very tall, and the rooms at this hotel are on higher floors. This gives you a much more open view, without being blocked by older buildings (just my personal observation)."

"Their bed and pillows are always comfortable. We had decent sleep and room is quite well soundproof. Choices for breakfast are a lot and they tasted good. Staffs are polite and friendly. Location wise is great and convenient. Next to 平江路, railway station is within walking distance and many snacks and restaurants nearby. We will definitely consider to stay here again. There are some areas of improvement though 1. There’s a huge dressing room inside but we don’t use it at all, maybe it could be more useful if there are some traditional clothes provided to try for free, the fridge could have relocated here cause the current ones is too small and difficult to put in additional stuffs. 2. We asked for ice bucket for our wine but the hotel is not able to provide. The fridge couldn’t fit in the tall wine bottle. We settled it ourselves eventually."

This time, my sister and I visited Suzhou again and booked this hotel 🏨. We stayed here last year, and both the environment and service were excellent! So, we chose to stay here again. The hotel 🏨 is conveniently located right on Pingjiang Road. After checking in, you also get two complimentary tickets to a Pingtan teahouse 🆓. Last time, we had a king-size room, and this time we got a twin room. There's even a rocking chair in the room that my sister found so comfortable she didn't want to go out sightseeing! The hotel 🏨 room rate includes breakfast, and both the braised pork noodles and braised beef noodles were delicious. After breakfast, we took a nice stroll along Pingjiang Road!

As a seasoned traveler with extensive luxury hotel experience (having stayed in nearly a hundred and being a 'Black Diamond Partner'), this was my first time trying the Kimpton brand. My main reason for choosing this hotel was my strong interest in Kengo Kuma's concept of a 'granular structure' Suzhou garden landscape, and I wanted to experience it. The result, I must say, far exceeded my expectations. On the night of my check-in, it was a stormy evening. Under the interplay of wall washers and granular lighting, a beautiful rain curtain formed over the classical eaves. Coupled with the white noise, the quality of sleep significantly improved, and the ambiance was just right. My choice of the 'Cool Garden Water View King Room' was an absolute highlight. The room was spacious and airy, blending the elegance of Suzhou gardens with modern minimalist design. The attention to detail in the room's amenities, a testament to HBA Interior Design, was evident and far surpassed what one would expect at this price point. The room featured a Serta mattress, a capsule coffee machine, and custom-scented bath amenities (available for purchase at the gift shop). What's more, the body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion each had a unique scent! This is a significant step up from most luxury brands that often offer a single citrus scent across the board. The first round of mini-bar drinks was also complimentary, and it's worth noting that the selection featured unique local specialties like 'Wang Shanzha' (hawthorn drink) and white peach soda, rather than just standard colas, showcasing a thoughtful integration of local flavors. Of course, the impeccable and attentive service is a must-mention in this review, easily comparable to (if not surpassing) the butler service at domestic St. Regis hotels (where butler service often isn't 'in-person' unlike in Europe or other Asian St. Regis properties). Our butler, Vickey, proactively added me on WeChat before check-in and was consistently responsive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Whether I was inquiring about hotel facilities, nearby attractions, or had any spontaneous requests, she responded instantly and resolved them efficiently. The hotel's location is also very convenient, nestled in the old city of Gusu – a tranquil retreat amidst the hustle and bustle – making it easy to access attractions like the Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road. From the top-notch hardware to the warm service, this stay was flawless, and I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Suzhou.

The room has large, floor-to-ceiling windows with a fantastic view. This time, I was given a lake view room, and it's right next to a food court with a fountain. Strolling around the south plaza at night and watching the fountain was incredibly relaxing. The hotel staff are all highly professional and respond to any request promptly and efficiently. The breakfast is also excellent, everything is handmade – no pre-made dishes here! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Science City; it's truly a hidden gem. Definitely worth checking out!

We stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
