"My parents, kids, and I went on a trip to the Three Gorges, and we chose the Shuiyunlan Hotel because it's very close to the tourist center. We booked a river-view room and a family room for 4 nights, including breakfast. The hotel staff thoughtfully arranged for us to be on the same floor, in connecting rooms 1206 and 1207. The breakfast was plentiful, with different dishes each day, and my family was very satisfied. Special thanks to housekeeper Gao Yan. She noticed our wet clothes weren't drying easily and thoughtfully provided a drying rack, even hanging the wet clothes in a ventilated spot by the window 🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Our child's Mi Band went missing, and she also helped us find it 🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. And a big thank you to Front Desk staff member #1. When we checked out, we mentioned we had three children, and they kindly gave us three souvenir gifts. The kids were thrilled 🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. The whole family had a wonderful stay and a great trip! "Overall, my stay had both good and bad aspects. The hotel front desk service was both professional and attentive. The 34th-floor lobby offered an incredible view. The check-in process was warm and meticulous, with staff demonstrating a gentle and polite attitude. They proactively informed me about breakfast, the pool, the best viewing areas, and even the optimal time to watch the sunset over the Yangtze River. Any questions I had were patiently answered, showing consistent high-quality service throughout. Special shout-outs to concierge Garbo and Zoe, who were incredibly professional and explained everything in detail, even sharing their own landscape photos. The bellboy Wensen was very polite and enthusiastic, taking my luggage directly to the room. After checking out, I specifically left a thank-you letter for them in the room. The Deluxe King City View Room was very spacious with a well-organized and open layout. The large glass windows offered expansive views, allowing me to enjoy the city's twilight blue hour in the evening, with city lights beautifully scattered, creating a wonderful ambiance. The room was spotlessly clean; the floors and bathroom corners were meticulously maintained. The bedding was soft and fluffy, and the pillows were just right. The soundproofing was excellent; I barely heard any traffic or hallway noise, ensuring a very restful sleep. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, and the toiletries were high-quality and amply stocked. All drinks and snacks in the minibar were complimentary, showing thoughtful attention to detail. The breakfast buffet offered a rich and comprehensive selection, including Chinese hot dishes, freshly cooked noodles, Western pastries, and fresh fruit beverages. Local specialties were also available. The ingredients were fresh, and dishes were replenished quickly. The dining environment was generally quiet and clean. Staff circulated constantly to clear tables, ensuring no shortages. The window seats offered soft light, making for a relaxed and pleasant dining experience with city views. The lobby bar had an elegant ambiance with soft, non-glaring lighting and comfortable sofas, perfect for a short rest or business discussions. The server, Jane, proactively asked about drink preferences and recommended local specialty teas. A cup of Poria and Sour Jujube Seed Tea in the afternoon was particularly helpful for me as it aids in calming and sleep. The cloud lights and rose rabbit sculptures in the lobby, especially under a black-and-white filter, enhanced the artistic atmosphere. The open-plan design of the lobby bar seamlessly connected with the front desk and lounge areas, maintaining both a sense of openness and privacy. Now for the areas that could be improved. The breakfast buffet staff sometimes lacked proper judgment. After I finished eating and was about to use my phone for a bit before continuing, a staff member cleared my empty plate without asking. I expected them to replace it with a clean one, but no staff member did, forcing me to get new utensils for subsequent servings, which disrupted my dining flow and was quite uncomfortable. This was especially noticeable the next day when the service was clearly different; Xanthe actually *asked* if I was finished, unlike the other staff member who just cleared the plate without a word. The two breakfast experiences were completely different. The basic welcome amenities were not consistently provided. From check-in until check-out the next day, I received neither a welcome fruit platter nor any dining vouchers. I even asked in the morning if a fruit platter was available, and the front desk staff said they would order one immediately. However, it never arrived by check-out, with the excuse being that another department failed to deliver it. Compared to the amenities provided to guests in other room types at the same price point, I found this clear differential treatment unacceptable. There was a noticeable disparity in service, and the attention to detail was not up to standard. This lowered my overall stay experience and highlights a need for standardized service and improved staff service philosophy. Despite these minor disappointments, I'm still willing to give a high rating due to the professionalism and warmth shown by the front desk and concierge team. After checking out, I specifically left a handwritten letter saying, ”From the moment I entered, every service made me feel at ease.” Especially the line, ”Where the heart finds peace is home; here tonight, forget the frost,” which truly reflects my experience. I hope the hotel sees this letter and maintains this reassuring level of service while promptly addressing any management shortcomings. As a consumer, I believe good aspects should be maintained, and poor ones should be improved—that's a fundamental principle. Once the service details are perfected, allowing both facilities and service quality to be consistently excellent, I believe that after rectifying and refining these details, the hotel will truly exhibit the complete quality expected of a five-star hotel, offering guests a flawless, comfortable, and smooth stay experience. It will surely gain more guest loyalty and recognition and become the top recommendation for accommodation in Yichang."

"The hotel's location is fantastic, within walking distance to surrounding commercial areas and attractions. It's just a few minutes from Wanda Plaza and right next to Yiling Yangtze River Bridge. The room was clean and tidy, with no strange odors, soft bedding, and a full set of toiletries. Housekeeping replenished supplies daily and the service was gentle and polite, making for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I highly recommend the river view rooms; you can see the bridge and the river as soon as you open the curtains, and the night view is stunning. This is definitely the top choice for anyone visiting the area."

"A bit of an oddity - a ‘hotel’ occupying the 26th floor of a tower block - while residents occupy other floors. Perfectly fine for a one-night stay as I was only here to do the 2 dams & 1 gorge cruise and visit the 3 gorges project and from the hotel if is a very short walk to the Visitors Centre where the cruise begins. Service consisted of picking up my key. When I returned it at 0730 next morning reception was closed Appreciated the black tea and kettle in the room. I had a river view room. The windows were dirty and there’s a lot of noise from the street and riverside. But that aside for 1 night it was ok."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Yangtze River, and you can enjoy river views from the room. The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and even upgraded our room, for which we are very grateful. The breakfast offered a good variety of both Chinese and Western options."

"The hygiene, environment, and location are all excellent, making it a great value for money. The room isn't huge, but it's perfectly adequate. We booked this hotel mainly because we had an early start for a Two Gorges, One Dam day trip the next day, and it's super convenient as it's only a three to five-minute walk to the meeting point. However, parking was a major issue. If you park in the Wanda Plaza B2 parking lot, it's 60 yuan per day max, and the hotel doesn't offer any subsidies. Plus, the elevator is hard to find, and the hotel didn't provide clear instructions initially. We ended up parking in the outdoor parking lot of the Three Gorges Tourist Center, which was 40 yuan max."

"- Overall positive: The hotel is very new, but there's no lingering smell of renovation. It's clean, spacious, and bright. The service is exceptional – warm and efficient. From the moment we stepped out of the car, every staff member greeted us with a smile. Alex and Linda were especially attentive. We stayed for four days and three nights, and the free use of a Mercedes/BMW electric car was a huge convenience for traveling with kids. In summary: We had a very satisfying stay! - Location & Facilities: Although the hotel is in the mountains, it's very close to popular attractions like the Three Travelers Cave (for coffee) and the Cliff Restaurant. It's a bit further from the city center, but in such a scenic city, staying amidst the beautiful landscape is much more enjoyable. The riverside pool is stunning! The gym is small but well-equipped, with foam rollers, yoga mats, and stair climbers. The most pleasant surprise was the alcohol wipes, readily available to sanitize equipment. - Hygiene & Bedding: The hygiene was impeccable; even the nooks and crannies were spotless. Housekeeping was prompt even with our three-night consecutive stay. The bedding was very comfortable. On the first day, the pillows were too high, and after a call, a comfortable pillow was immediately delivered. - Breakfast: Breakfast deserves its own mention. The variety of dishes was standard, but they had local specialties like spicy red oil buns and radish dumplings, and fresh watermelon juice! The ingredients were fresh, and the braised beef noodles or vermicelli were incredibly delicious. There was even ice cream. It goes until 11 AM, perfectly suiting the relaxed pace of a resort hotel. - Family-friendly activities: This hotel is very accommodating for families with children! The children's toiletries (especially the toothbrush) are the most durable we've encountered in any five-star hotel so far. There were science experiments on the weekend, which our older child enjoyed. The pool had a foam party, which both our older and younger children loved."

"The room was pretty good. I stayed with my family for a few days. The hotel is right on the street, so it's super easy to catch a taxi. Just cross the road and you're at Yanjiang Avenue. The weather was lovely these past few days, perfect for a walk and watching the sunset. If you need anything during your stay, you can just ask the hotel staff. All in all, it was a good stay."

"We were a family of three traveling, and we had originally booked a deluxe river view room, but it was upgraded to a cloud river view room. After speaking with the front desk manager, they also provided an extra breakfast for our child. The room had a great view and new facilities. We had initially only booked one night for the 23rd, and had return high-speed train tickets for 2 PM on the 24th. However, after visiting the Three Gorges Dam this morning, we felt too rushed, so we immediately changed our train tickets. We then spoke with Manager Hu at the front desk to extend our stay for another night. We kept the same room, received a discount, and another complimentary breakfast, which was very nice. The Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the hotel has group purchase packages that are very good value and the food is delicious. Yesterday, we arrived back late and our child wanted to go swimming, but we were worried the restaurant would close. After speaking with Manager Hu, they arranged for the restaurant to prepare our dishes in advance. We ended up dining until past 9:40 PM, which was after their closing time of 9:30 PM, but the restaurant staff were still very enthusiastic. The breakfast selection was quite varied, and the pool on the fourth floor was clean, as was the 24-hour gym. However, I have a small suggestion: the hotel's toilet paper could be upgraded as it's a bit thin and doesn't quite match the hotel's quality. Overall, our entire family was very satisfied and had a great experience. We will definitely choose Marriott Group brands again in the future!"
