"I had a very satisfying stay here. First off, the location is excellent – right in the bustling heart of downtown Cairo, yet surprisingly quiet. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the Egyptian Museum and a nearby metro station, and about a 20-minute stroll to the Nile River. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries around, making dining and shopping very convenient. The room had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great for making breakfast, and there was a common lounge area on our floor. Getting to Cairo Airport by Uber only took about 30 minutes."

"Hotel was good overall , considering its price and location. The entrance is actually at the back alley from the main street but it is not dangerous even for ladies. You will need to take the lift up to the 5 th floor reception where they will greet you. Breakfast was served at their ‘restaurant’ and cannot be taken away. They serve at 8am , which I think is a little late since many tours starts around that time too. Breakfast is hearty so we enjoyed it very much ! For the room, it is ok. The building is old so we can’t complain too much. Room is clean and big , so is the toilet. We were also told that we have to leave our keys at the reception when we head out for the day. Then when we come back we can collect the keys again at the reception. Not ideal since we planned to leave some cash and some valuables in the room. We had no problem with our items but you may consider this if you are concern about privacy of your property. Overall we had a good stay."

"I chose this hotel because it's right next to the Egyptian Museum, which was very convenient for my first day in Cairo when I was unfamiliar with the city. It's really close to the museum, and getting to Giza train station by metro to buy tickets was also easy. There were a lot of police cars around, so it felt very safe. The room itself was very new. The only minor issue was that I had booked a pre-payment model, meaning I would pay upon checkout. This usually isn't a problem in my home country, but here, they unexpectedly required a $150 deposit. The platform was responsive and said they would follow up if the deposit wasn't returned later, and the hotel also informed us immediately after receiving the payment. It was just a small hiccup, nothing major. Overall, it was a very good stay! 👍"

"Since we were flying back home the next day, we booked this place as a temporary accommodation for our last night. Overall, it was pretty good. Someone greeted us downstairs and helped with our luggage. The decor was new, but there was still a slight odor. The bedding seemed okay. Breakfast was delivered directly to our room balcony by phone; the smell was acceptable, similar to other hotels. It was a bit noisy being near the street, but it didn't seem to affect our sleep. It was very close to Ma's Noodle Shop, and after eating Egyptian food for so many days, this noodle dish was a lifesaver! It was good value for money, close to the Old Museum. We booked a four-person room for three people, which would be a great deal for larger groups. If you're thinking of booking, wait a few months and see if you can get rid of the smell!"

"Great for a long/ extended layover in Cairo. Meals were really good and the staff were very helpful. The hotel offers a shuttle to and from the airport which is really convenient. If you plan on touring Cairo or being there for a long time consider that the hotel is quite far out as it’s near the airport. Still doable but there’s a usually a surcharge on tours when picking up anyone staying in this area."

"My stay at Sofitel Downtown Cairo was genuinely pleasant and absolutely worth the money. The hotel delivers a high standard of comfort, but what truly made the experience stand out was the exceptional staff. Special thanks to Ahmed Zakarya at the front desk for his professionalism and warm welcome. Appreciation as well to Shaker from housekeeping for his attentiveness and consistency. I would also like to extend special thanks to the ladies at Solana, the breakfast restaurant—Zakeyh and Hanan—who are truly the gems of the restaurant. Their kindness, energy, and attention to detail made breakfast a highlight of each day. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, driven by excellent service and a strong hospitality culture. I would gladly stay here again."

"Excellent location near Tahrir Square / Egyptian Museum and Sadat Metro Station. Staff were excellent in particular the manager Mr Ahmed receptionist Alaa and house keeping Azze. "Excellent place and great people I was visiting Cairo for several days to refresh old memories because I have lived in Zamalek 50 years ago. I looked for the hotel just somewhere in the heart of Northern part of Zamalek, and location at Taha Hussein street was the best possible option, so I have chosen The President hotel. I had just general expectations as from regular three star hotel, but staff and hotel amenities have exceeded my humble expectations far beyond! The room was very clean and spacious, slippers, toothbrush, shower supplies, teapot, tea, coffee bags, minibar - everything was very nice and provided. Starting from security at entrance and reception (I was put to the level where restaurant is for my convenience), everyone was very nice and polite to me. Housekeeping by Mohammed Eldeep was perfect. Service at breakfast was outstanding (and at dinner too), and chef Mitu had cooked the most delicious food with personal attention and kindness. And tour service provided by manager Dahy was beyond perfection - utmost and ultimately outstanding and fabulous. I was taking complex trips around the city and transfer to the airport. With the greatest scrutinous attention to details from Dahy I got excellent service and very professional drivers so my trips were exceptionally planned and fulfilled in time. To wrap up, I strongly recommend the President hotel due to mostly positive and splendid emotions I have received there during my 3-nights stay. Area has great infrastructure once you need 24/7 groceries, pharmacy or ATM. Don't recommend to drive in Zamalek, better take cab or walk."

"Lovely smart hotel. Several restaurants. Massage and gym. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice sbd roomy. Rooms spacious. Would stay there again but if you want to be in the town centre with many shops you need to stay closer to city centre as this, was, about 30 minutes from airport. It didn't matter because everything is a short cheap taxi fare away. Also it's next to a military camp where you can see and hear the soldiers marching from your balcony. If the bugle noise bothers, you at 6am then maybe not for you. Also, but not related to the hotel you'll be woken up at 4am by the, wailing from the mosques but you can't really get away from that can you. The hotel I understand is, owned by the military and so you'll often see soldiers stay there. They weren't any trouble. In fact it made you feel safe. "

BBensonHKTitle: Unparalleled Luxury and Impeccable Service at St. Regis Cairo Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Review: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the St. Regis Cairo during my visit to this magnificent city, and I must say that it was an experience beyond compare. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the grandeur and elegance of the hotel, and every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. The St. Regis Cairo is a true testament to luxury and sophistication. The moment I stepped into the opulent lobby, I was greeted by a stunning display of modern design blended seamlessly with elements of Egyptian heritage. The attention to detail was impeccable, with intricate artwork, exquisite furnishings, and a magnificent chandelier that took my breath away. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at the hotel's exquisite restaurants. The St. Regis Cairo also boasts an array of impressive amenities. 11392341****Connected to Terminal 3 by a sky bridge, you can walk directly from the terminal across the parking lot to the hotel without ever going outside. The room was spacious and soundproof (could barely hear any planes taking off or landing), the bedding was clean, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My only regret is that my stay was too short; my flight was delayed the night before and I didn't arrive until almost midnight, then I left right after breakfast the next morning.

VVon30Stayed for 4 nights. Upon check-in I asked the man at the reception if anything else was needed as normally a deposit would be taken. Was told that everything was fine. On the 2nd night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant at the lobby. Food was not prepared as I requested as I ordered steak. The waiter insisted that I sliced through the middle to check it as I ordered medium rare. He agreed that it was overcooked. Took it back and said that they would prepare another order. However, 5minutes later he sent the same steak back to me and mentioned that they checked under proper lighting and it was cooked properly. It was very obvious that it was definitely overcooked and dry. I just accepted it and couldn’t be bothered. Mind you the fries that came with the steak was over fried and hard as rock. I didn’t even eat another piece after trying it. Halfway through chewing on the hard and dry steak. The waiter decided to come back again and ask if everything was fine and if I didn’t like it they could cook me another piece. This was just frustrating and I didn’t want to wait anymore as it was late and I was tired from a full day tour. Finally finished my dinner and asked for the bill. I signed it to the room. The waiter comes back and tells me that I didn’t put a deposit in the room so I had to pay. Mind you I brought no cards or cash since I expected that I could bill to the room. One of us ended up going back to the room to take money to pay for the meal which was embarrassing and unacceptable for our standards. We were staying for 4 nights. On our last night of stay, we came back to the hotel and we were locked out of the room. Had to go back to reception and found out that the person who checked us in didn’t put the correct number of nights. This was truly a disgrace on Waldorf and the receptionist.  Obviously your staff at the check in need more training. I have stayed in many international hotels around the world and never face such lowly trained staff at reception that make such mistakes which spoils the image of the hotel.  However, I have to give a huge shoutout to a few people that made my days great. Menna and Apeeo from breakfast were wonderful. Impeccable service from them. However, male staffs showed poor knowledge and were quite lazy as they were more interested in chatting that serving customers. Bellman Sherif was wonderful helping us check out with our luggages and even waited with us for our transport.

GGuest UserThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby. Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on ******* and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid. The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo. The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel. We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

CcalilopezzThis hotel is located 5 minutes from the airport and is definitely one of the best mid-Price options in the area for a long layover or short stay. The location is NOT great if you want to see the pyramids or museums but great for being near the airport. The pool area is quite nice with a bar next to it and spaces to sunbathe. The restaurants are decent quality and the flavors are a 7/10. We got the Cesar salad, mixed grill plate, and shrimp soup! The shrimp soup was awesome and everything else was just OK! The wifi wasn’t strong unfortunately but if you sign up for the ALL benefits you can get faster wifi for free too. If two people stay, they need to add an additional fee of 70 US dollars. Very unlogic, so I leave my friend and I booked another hotel.but the facilities and environment is good .only their service is bad
