There are bugs and there are spiders and there are other furry critters in the area. The cabin is typically cleaned on a Monday after folks check out. The cleaning service has an hour round trip travel time, so it is likely it won’t be “freshened up” immediately prior to your arrival if you come later in the week. Please expect there to be a sign of activity of these bugs and spiders and other pests in this natural wooded area.The lawn service might not always be able to mow or trim weeds directly prior to your arrival. Many factors such as rain, wooded property access, and land topology play into this. This is not a metropolitan or town location. If you are expecting that, understand you might be disappointed and won’t receive a refund. Sometimes, a window might fail to lock. However, all main entry doors are secure and have locks on them. We have never had a security incident since we began cabin rentals in 2012. I have had many, many very happy customers. Many folks come back to each of my locations each and every season. However, a few have not been happy due to the items listed above. Please be sure you understand the above information before choosing to stay here. This simple cabin is located on 5 scenic acres to allow hiking, campfires, grilling out, and just relaxing while overlooking the scenic view of the serene woods. It is located near South Bloomingville, OH, just minutes from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Conkle's Hollow, and many other local attractions. Plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, and trash bags are included. The cabin has air conditioning, an electric furnace heater, and a large fire pit! It has a bed to sleep 2, a kitchen with cooktop plate, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside, there is a propane grill on the front porch. There is also ample space for a nice campfire to roast hot dogs and S’Mores! Although the image shows a stack of firewood, please plan to bring your own as it is not provided. Also, there are other cabins located on this wooded property. Please note: I have very good feedback at my cabins, and I pride myself in trying to make sure folks enjoy their time here. I will do my best to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. In order to achieve that, I want to make sure you are aware of a few items: At times an item within the cabin might not be functional. Also note: The tub might take the water heater a bit to regen to fill it with water. But it’s about the best we could do to maximize the space! There is no conventional oven in the cabin, just a double burner cook plate, sink and compact refrigerator/freezer. If you’d like to bring a crock pot along please feel free to do so; or the propane grill can be used to cook as well as the microwave oven. Please remember that the refrigerator and freezer are compact models. The cabin packs MANY items into a small area; if you have any additional questions please feel free to ask! Don't delay! We do our best to keep pesky rodents away but at times there could be a rodent that was just caught in a trap. If you happen to find a mouse in a trap we apologize - we truly are doing the best to can to make the pests disappear. Just please be prepared to place all food in sealable containers or in the refrigerator so you don’t attract them even more! In addition to small furry pests, an occasional wood roach might be wandering around a cabin. I assure you these are NOT a cock roach. Please google “wood roach”. They feed on moist damp wood. They don’t really want to be inside but they might have been carried in on firewood or wandered in looking for a mate. They don’t eat human food and they don’t want to be inside. If you find one, please either dispose of it or simply throw it outside. It is surrounded by all the beauty and peace you would expect from a relaxing walk through the woods. Old log cabin appeal, with updated fresh interior. Main floor includes a daybed with trundle which can become two twins or combine to become a king size bed. A queen size mattress also awaits you in the loft (note because of the pitch of the roof, you must enter the loft on your knees but can immediately stand up and walk around after entering.)See pictures. Because the loft may not be for everyone and may prove more challenging for those who are older or who have physical impairments, again there is a daybed downstairs with trundle underneath that can be brought together to make a king side bed for your comfort.** FOR YOUR SAFETY we have decided to ask all renters to bring their own bedding supplies as well as bath towels and washcloths. We have covered the 2 twin and one queen mattresses inside with plastic mattress bags, which are cleaned and sanitized after every stay.
