I just checked in to this hotel for the first time, and I'm struggling to understand the negative reviews. I've stayed at The Frobisher Inn, Discovery, and other locations --- none of them compare. It's leagues more modern than any other lodging in the area, my room was spotless on arrival, the staff at the front desk was extremely helpful, they have a $10 discount on breakfast through a voucher program ... not sure what else is to be expected. In my opinion, it's a fantastic facility and there's a lot to appreciate about it.

We booked the bed and breakfast package just to find out they do t have breakfast on Sundays. Then they wouldn’t do anything to refund the Sunday cost for the breakfast package. Restaurant service and staff was very disappointing. Service was the worst we received anywhere in Iqaluit. Very disappointed on the restaurant aspect of this location.

Clean and modern hotel. Shower was hot while outside was cold. Had ample towels and soaps/shampoos. Queen bees were large and slept well. Ate at the lounge and had a great supper. Served by Min. She did great. Double caribou burgers were yummy. Great quality meat. Good micro brewery beers hit the spot. For dessert we had more caribou 🤣 with caribou meatballs with a type of sweet berry/strawberry jam. Next time we are in town. Will come back and do the same meal and stay.

I stayed 3 nights while on a business trip to Iqaluit. The hotel was immaculate and staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. I ate at the restaurant and lounge and the service was great. It will be my go to place when I'm in Iqaluit. It's 3 minutes from the airport

Stayed here for the better part of a week at $350 a night. Restaurant and service staff excellent and very keen to help. However, Front Office and Managerial staff officious and unnecessarily inflexible on simple matters such as late checkout and meeting room use. Hotel was far from fully booked but the folks that run the place appear motivated by dinging you for $300 here and $150 there, $50 anywhere else, etc. On a brighter note, The Black Heart Cafe nearby (about 700 steps from this hotel) is an outstanding place for great morning coffee and yummy breakfast.

Aqsarniit hotel is disgusting! They don’t clean the washrooms, bathtub is full of rings and obviously gross. Whe I walked in, took my boots off and my socks stuck To the floor!!!! Looks so nice but the dirtiest place I’ve ever been! 🤮

I have stayed here multiple times, and multiple times I’ve had sticky pee residue on the bathroom walls which is clearly visible without having to kneel down and look, old fingerprint smudges on the mirrors the last time I was here I had a deluxe room with a couch in it and the couch had a bunch of crumbs on it when we first got there. This time around I don’t have shower water pressure it just trickles out and to ‘fix’ this they gave us a key for another room that we could use to shower and turns out there was already a guest inside that room!!!! Like are you friggin serious????! they didn’t leave any Kcup coffee pods by the keaurig, we ordered from the restaurant downstairs and they didn’t put any napkins, utensils or condiments in the bag which wasn’t discovered until we were back at the room. The only reason I’m even staying here is because It’s at a discounted rate. Definitely not worth $367.50 on a standard room.

Visiting over the Canadian Day long weekend. Hotel was clean and welcoming. Room bright, clean, spacious and comfortable. Had to ask for more towels and there was a lack of soap and coffee in room. Apparently, they were waiting for a shipment. Coffee was available in reception area and they had a small selection of breakfast items available in the foyer whilst restaurant was shut. Would of of been nice to be pre warned of restaurant closures due to the long weekend. We did eat in the bar one night. Unfortunately, the security guards were quite rude and insisted that we pay to put our coats in the coat room. I explained that we were hotel guests and they insisted and were very rude to my son and myself. My husband ended up taking the coats up to our room. The hotel is close to airport.

This was my fifth time in Iqaluit, first time since COVID and also first I this new hotel. I found it fine. The room was comfy and I appreciated the view. I didn’t love no coffee in the room (waiting on a supplier delivery) but hey it’s Iqaluit /Nunavut. You can’t expect it to be like the south. Coffee in the lobby wasn’t ideal but it worked. I found the staff great. I heard someone (another guest) complaining about how many “locals” were in the lobby and outside. Again I’m going to comment: you’re in Nunavut!! And the locals you’re concerned about are from either Iqaluit or neighbouring communities. You’re in THEIR original space- have a heart and some sense. I liked speaking with others in the lobby and beyond. The restaurant was yummy. Would you liked longer service hours but see above- You’re in Iqaluit!!
