The location is in the tea house area. The Qian room I stayed in has a large bed and tatami. It can accommodate 3 people for a family trip. In the morning, the waiter will help you prepare breakfast. There is a bus stop not far away. It is very quiet at night. It is recommended to stay if you want to experience tatami.

This was one of the most gorgeous and automated place that we stayed, and real highlight of the trip. The setting is stunningly beautiful, and the amenities are fantastic. The mix of modern and traditional Japanese elements, the neighborhood and the bathroom of our dreams. It takes a while to get used to how every component of the house requires a manual to operate, but this place can align itself with your needs and comfort with astounding precision. What a beautiful place.

Our introduction to traditional Japanese accommodation. It's in the heartbeat of the Higashi Chaya district and very close to the Castle/Kenroku-en. Service was exceptional and very considerate after our train was delayed by 6 hours. They have 24h reception so no issues with late check-in. They were also very friendly and didn't mind adjustments to the included breakfast. Location is very close to Kanazawa Station - I'd highly suggest just taking a taxi especially if you have big bags. It was only $13 AU at around 9pm. My only complaint - the room is a little bit dusty. Maybe the A/C filter needs to be replaced? Otherwise it's 10/10.

This was a great little hotel during our few days in Kanazawa. It’s right in the Highashi Chaya district, which is lovely to wander around, and not too long a walk from major tourist sites (Kanazawa Castle, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and my favorite, Kenroku-en). The washer-dryer in the room worked great and was a nice bonus, and we appreciated the online guides to all of the room’s gadgets. We never figured out the tub, but loved it nonetheless! Breakfast was more western-style than Japanese, but still very good.

I loved Utaimachi. Understated but very high quality accomodations. Beds, pillows, mats -- all first class. The bathroom was gorgeous. I would stay here again no question. The location is unmatched too right in the middle of the Chaya district.

The modern "ryokan" is located in the center of Kanazawa in a beautiful, typical and characteristic neighborhood where you can breathe the air of authentic Japan. We were greeted at the entrance by warm and friendly staff who immediately made us feel at "home". After offering us a delicious local beer and assigning us rooms, the girl who received us proved to be very nice and kind, explaining the main points of interest in the area and recommending some excellent restaurants. As for accommodation, what can I say…. A true marvel!!! The perfect union between modernity and tradition, in a welcoming environment you can find the comforts of the present (smart TV, wi-fi, smart boiler, microwave, washing machine and much more) and the wonderful customs of the past. Wood, tatami and cork adorn all the rooms in which you can walk, strictly barefoot. A dream!! Sleeping in a futon (typical Japanese bed) was an excellent experience, I assure you that in addition to being very comfortable, it is relaxing to be able to lie down and feel the heat retained by the tatami. Last but not least the PERFECT breakfast!!! Prepared with care and precision, you can enjoy both sweet and savory and all served with fruit juice and coffee/tea. The attention to detail is nothing short of sensational and adorable, dishes plentiful and quality superlative. To conclude: wonderful place, excellent experience, recommended and absolutely worth repeating!!! ————————— The modern "ryokan" is located in the center of Kanazawa in a beautiful, typical and quaint neighborhood where you can breathe the air of authentic Japan. Beautiful place, and located in the middle of Higashi Chaya district. Really excellent place, with very tasty breakfast and great, artful, traditional Japanese furnishings (but with the modern amenities of a great hotel)

An inn located in Higashi Chayamachi. We were greeted by smiling staff and arrived at a room with a calm atmosphere. Almost everything we needed was provided and it was comfortable. During the day, it was a lively tourist spot, but at night, it was a different world of silence. We had Higashi Chayamachi all to ourselves (lol). If we got up a little early in the morning, we could take photos of the sunrise and the Chayamachi district. It's an inn that makes you want to come back again.
