Hotels near Hōkan-ji, Kyoto

I am really satisfied with this hotel! I chatted with my friend before and felt that Hyatt Hotel was too expensive. She said that Qingshui Qinglong was also good. I decided to give it a try and was really satisfied! First of all, the road leading to Qingshui Temple can be driven for a while, and the other part can only be walked. This hotel is just at that intersection. The location is really impeccable. Then although this hotel is in the most popular tourist area, it is completely quiet in the bustling area. It feels like meeting love around the corner. When you look up, you can see Yasaka Pagoda. Then the hotel's service, facilities, and bedding are all very satisfactory. The only flaw is the breakfast, which is in line with Japanese efficiency. I have been waiting for a long time. Then I chose the Japanese soup pot, but I was not full at all. I had to add rice twice in a row and finished the rice with the soup base.

I have to say that this is the most comfortable and well-received room I have stayed in Japan so far! First of all, I want to praise that the hotel is very clean and big! ! And the pots and pans for cooking are all clean, so I feel completely at ease staying here! The transportation location is very good, and you can go to Kiyomizu Temple just across the road; secondly, there is a very local set meal opposite the hotel, which is run by an old lady. It only costs 2000 yen (cash only) for two people to eat very full, and the taste is also very good! In addition, it is also very close to the supermarket (I think it is called Ueda). In the evening, my husband and I bought sashimi and beef skewers at the supermarket and cooked them in the microwave at the hotel! !

We stayed for a good 3 nights at Terrace Kiyomizu Kyoto. The location was perfect for visiting Kiyomizu-dera and Sannenzaka within walking distance. The hotel has a paid parking lot for us to park our car, so we do not worry about finding it. The hotel has a rooftop view of Kiyomizu-dera and Nidec Kyoto Tower. The staff was very friendly, and we had a free gift on the checked out date.

It's beautiful hotel which has own shuttle buses to Kyoto station. They pay attention to every detail and every aspect. Service is superb. hotel staffs are very friendly and so polite. They welcome you from the beginning outside hotel. Greeting every time they see you. Shuttle buses drives are extremely helpful and friendly.! Breakfast are always great. Morning chef is amazing and kind. Thank you. And please give my best regards to him. Me and my parents had lovely time during stay. And if not because we booked hotel another week at Osaka, we sure would love to stay another week. My father still talk about the trip at your hotel while we stay at Imperial Hotel Osaka. Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage. The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The location is very good. It's only a ten-minute walk to Kiyomizu Temple. Just outside Kiyomizu Temple is Kiyomizu Saka, Ninnenzaka, and Sannenzaka. There are small shops and restaurants along the way, which is very lively. It is also very close to Gion, more than a kilometer away, and you can walk there. Minutes from the subway. There are not many restaurants nearby, but it is easy to find them through Dianping. There are convenience stores just a few minutes walk around.

We were astonished by how close the hotel towards the Kawaramachi, Gion and subway areas, making it super convenient to visit all foodie and sight seeing places. It looks very clean, the staff are super friendly and came all the way to assist us sending back our shopping to Tokyo. If you would make Kyoto your base to see the neighbourhood like Nara, Uji etc, highly recommended this hotel location

Centrally Located with a Few Drawbacks Travel Lodge is located on a shopping street with plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s also within walking distance of Gion, making it a great base for exploring. The location offers easy access to both bus and metro lines, making transportation convenient, and it’s not a far walk to reach either option. They also provide luggage storage, which is helpful. However, be aware that rooms are only cleaned every 4th day, so if you’re staying fewer than four nights (like we did), you won’t have a clean room and you’ll need to grab supplies and exchange towels at the main desk. The hotel breakfast, served at a neighboring restaurant, was a bit of a letdown. It mainly consisted of bread and some oily sides, though the coffee and drink options were good. The room itself was typical for a Japanese hotel—compact, but clean, with a hot shower. Despite the small size, after a long day of walking, you’ll sleep fine! Just keep in mind that check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM, so plan accordingly!

We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is well managed with location near bus stop, and a short distance to Kyoto station downtown shopping area. The service from the reception, breakfast spread selection, and room amenities were all good. The only minor problem was the laundry, as the dryer is not working well. We would return to this hotel if we visit Kyoto again

This hotel is located at a perfect location in Kyoto, with the Kyoto Station being 2-5 minutes away depending on walking speed. There are many eateries and restaurants around the area, and the availability of various malls such as Aeon enhanced the experience we had staying in Miyako Hotel. Self check-in kiosks were used, and payment for foreign tax can be done seamlessly there. They have 2 different buildings in which the rooms are situated, which was unfortunate for my family as we were assigned rooms in each of the different buildings. However, the rooms were big and comfortable, and I was happy with the stay. While mineral water was not given for each day, they had a water dispenser in each level of the rooms, which made it convenient to obtain water. Vending machines are also available for those who prefer to get their own bottle of drink/mineral water. The staff were very friendly with any questions or requests and were fast with assistance for baggage storage. The only downside could be the lack of coin washing machines in the hotel itself, and the next nearest available public coin washing machine was located about 5-7 minutes away from the hotel itself. It is not easy to find and can be quite a hassle to actually do any sort of laundry unless you are willing to pay for the in-house laundry service. Overall, it is definitely recommended to choose Miyako.
