From the very beginning when we arrived at this Hotel 23rd September 2022 the lady on the Reception was very professional and welcoming. We arrived just after 12.00 hrs and the lady advised that our room may not be ready but she still made a telephone call to housekeeping. Unfortunately it was not ready but we were able to store our cases and go and explore. When we returned back the room was ready, the porter took our cases to the room and it was perfect, room 31 overlooking the pool, very clean, modern and well equipped for our needs. The following morning the breakfast was amazing and I mean amazing I have never seen a hotel accomodate every taste it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot comment on the restaurants available because we like to eat out to taste the culture of the area we are visiting. The pool area looked lovely but we are not pool people we like exploring but that is our choice. We did on return from our days out sit on our balcony which was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool. In the mornings we did see how the hotel pay attention to detail with the cleaners out cleaning the beds and pool area. We did have a drink the bar area one evening which was reasonably priced and it is a lovely area to relax. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to my friends and family in fact we are looking to book again next September.

The hotel is located on a very quiet street in the city center. Simple but very practical. Breakfast is served in your room (covid reason) Good bedding and wifi works well. A small balcony decorates the whole. Good address to visit Lagos. But be careful not to stop. There are only 2 luggage storage offices at the beginning of the street (30m from the hotel) There are a few vacant places on the street...but the space is full, full Parking on the boulevard along the canal 600m from the hotel costs 12 Euros/day.

Resorts are good. But staff is not enough and also security of resort is quite loose. Everybody can go into the resort and no one will check.

Please be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.

This is our third stay at Solar de Mos, although due to Covid and my partner’s ill health we haven’t been back for a while. We missed it. Why is that…well it offers a friendly, relaxing environment, not too far, but far enough away, from the bustle of the town centre. The new wings offer excellent quality rooms which are well kept and very clean. And parking is easy outside in the side street. There is a small bar if one wants a night-cap after a dinner down town and the breakfast offers a selection including some hot items, which is fine in the climate. All of that is good but it wouldn’t make for a happy holiday if the staff weren’t friendly. And that is where Solar de Mos excels. From check-in to check-out everyone was kind and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble, and it’s the main reason we will continue to come here when next in Lagos. The regulation is to check in at 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at 3 o'clock, and we were also checked in. A resort-like hotel with new facilities and a well-maintained appearance. The front desk and the concierge speak good English, and most of the guests are British. The room is very spacious. The kitchen on the first floor is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, pots and pans, a large dining room and balcony, a guest bathroom, and a large terrace. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is a small yard, connected to the next-door unit. You can walk directly from the green belt to the swimming pool. Children like the swimming pool very much, and there is a kiosk next to it for coffee and drinks. If I have a chance in the future, I will come again. To go to the beach, you can drive by yourself or take the hotel shuttle. The quality of salema beach itself is also very good, there are public toilets, small and beautiful beach.

When I checked in, I was a little bit of an episode. The hotel closed the room. I still sold the basic room. After I went to the store, I started to say that there was no room. Later, I said that there is a room for sea view. I need to add money. However, Ctrip has negotiated internally and super-fast communication with online customer service. After the call, I immediately went to the front desk. Hotel room is small but very clean. The terrace is very big and the sun is beautiful. The hotel is right next to the beach. The scenery is very invincible. The front desk staff compares nice breakfast is really super disgusting. I have seen the most unpalatable meat and sausages are artificial meat. Fruit is canned coffee. The total price is very cheap. Breakfast is good. There is a small shop in the downstairs. Simple daily necessities can be bought. No drinking water in the room, buy it yourself.

We’ve just returned from a week at Tivoli, Alvor, the weather has been amazing, we didn’t see a cloud all week, unfortunately the hotel really didn’t meet our expectations. There are so many areas across the hotel that could be improved, that really would have changed our experience. Firstly the pool areas, there aren’t enough sunbeds for guests. The sunbeds they do have are all pushed together, with no space between you and the next family. Getting a sunbed was also another issue, people were out reserving sunbeds first thing and we saw towels out all day without anyone return. Due to the number of guests in the hotel, on occasions towels had ran out by early afternoon. It’s not something we really expected from a 5* hotel. It’s been mentioned in other reviews, but expect to queue, I understand it’s August, but there clearly weren’t enough staff to cope with the number of guests. We queued for drinks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, booking restaurants, the BBQ…the list goes on. They often ran out of cutlery, glasses and plates. We did really feel for the staff, who were obviously under pressure, but I would say while we came across some lovely friendly staff members, we also encountered lots of staff who were unhelpful and quite rude. The food was average, pretty hit and miss, it did get quite repetitive. The Mexican night was our favourite, but only one chef serving the amount of guests, We did really love the train to Alvor and the beach was amazing. The room was cleaned daily, but was quite small for the 4 of us. For the price we paid for the holiday, we were really disappointed.

This is a large resort with football field, golf course, children's playground, outdoor swimming pool, hotel single room and family room. We booked a one-bedroom (including kitchen, balcony, living room). The location of the hotel is only a short walk from the attractions. 5 minutes, there is a small road to the beach, which is very convenient. The room particularly pleased me that the kitchen supplies are all available (you only need to buy your own ingredients and ingredients), and there are washing and drying machines. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent and the waiters were nice. Since we are self-driving, we cannot give advice on public transportation.
