We traveled here with friends and family for a little break before school started, and the only thing I was disappointed in was myself for only booking one night. When we made the reservation, we were told that we could arrive at any time on the day of check-in, grab our water park passes, and start swimming. We could also continue swimming after check-out. It was great to know we weren’t limited to just the time between check-in and check-out. Before arriving, we received an email instructing us to download the resort app, and we also got a text from the resort offering assistance via text if needed. The resort app was fantastic! It allowed us to order food, check operating hours, and view a daily activity schedule for all the free activities available for kids. Upon arrival, we parked in front and I went inside to get our stuff. There was a bit of a line, but they had several people checking guests in, so it went pretty quickly. Additionally, there was an art corner where kids could sit and color, and a movie was playing on a big projection screen. While waiting in line, staff members fielded questions, gave advice, and ensured a smooth process. Once it was my turn, we checked in and were informed that we would receive a text with our room number when it was ready. I was given wristbands that served as our room keys and had our payment method linked to them, as this is a cashless resort. This was convenient because I didn’t have to worry about carrying cash, cards, or room keys at the water park later. Also, kids received wolf ears, which I thought was a fun touch. The staff directed us to the parking area and we were on our way. We parked the car, packed a swim bag, and headed in. There were several bathrooms and locker rooms both inside and outside the water park area, and the bathrooms had those spinning suit dryers. Inside the water park, lockers were available for rent if needed. We found some chairs with our friends and kept our things there. With four different water park areas and various slides, there was plenty to do. The outdoor pool area had staff running games for the kids, and they handed out stickers and suckers as prizes. There were places to get drinks and food, as well as areas with tables and cabanas you could reserve. When we received the text that our room was ready, we were able to go straight to our room with our wristbands. Notably, there were plenty of lifeguards on duty, and they were all very attentive. The waterpark area also had lifejackets for anyone that needed it. Each of the kids had their height measured upon entry and were given bracelets to let them know which activities they were tall enough for. Upon entering our room, we noticed it was very clean, with plenty of towels in the bathroom and a functioning fridge. We also had a room with a balcony, which was convenient for drying our swimsuits later. The bed was incredibly comfortable—soft and plushy, and I slept great! Be sure to ask the staff about all

Changes came to the Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells, absolutely zero complimentary toiletries. You can imagine my shock at 7:30 am. With the morning madness, with a forgotten toothbrush, no shampoo or conditioner in the room. I would’ve settled with a toothbrush. Both Maggie & Lizzie at the front desk tried to explain to me how it’s been done away with. And kindly recommended a trip to the pharmacy or wait until 9 am when the gift shop opens. We all know that something as simple as forgotten toiletries can make/break a morning. That’s why when traveling there’s always peace of mind that any forgotten toiletries will be available either complimentary in the room or in the lobby, for purchase 24/7 in a vending machine or a self service kiosk. Not here, not anymore. I really hope the profit margin was worth the inconvenience to guests. As I write this, still in disbelief, as NEVER have a I been denied a toothbrush at a hotel lobby. So in short, triple check your travel bag & pack extra toiletries!

There is now a $15 charge to park on the property. They stated that it went into effect at all their properties from May 2024. We got a day pass that already cost over $200 for a family of 4 , then to pay an additional cost of $15 to park is beyond irritating.

We got the “wolf’s den” room with an alcove for a bunk bed. It was a pricier room. Despite that there was $100 dollars in unnamed fees PER NIGHT, including a parking fee. The bed that goes with the room in full-size (I don’t know many couples that sleep in less than a queen size). A pre-made sandwich at the store was $16. The floor of the room was gritty, like it hadn’t even been vacuumed. They have the annoying habit of not cleaning the room, and refreshing supplies. The pool water was brown.

Our room was less than adequate. The refrigerator seal was broken so all the food was not kept cold. The Lodge charges guests to park on the property at a rate of $15 a night. The beds are not comfortable. We stayed 2 nites and got NO housekeeping service. The Lodge advertises Starbucks products but the selection is so limited that they should not advertise it at all. It is a money and not worth the price. Do not advise a visit here.

$15 for parking?? Why are you adding all these ridiculous fees for customers that are already paying for their room plus resort fees. What a shame. We will never be back after this. It’s the Dells. Parking isn’t at a premium and there’s plenty of other choices that aren’t charging for parking. What a joke.

Fine visit. Child loved it. But parents didn’t. I might just not be a Great Wolf Lodge person. But I would prefer to be able to float and watch the kids. You can’t do that there. There’s a lot of adults standing around or sitting in chairs, so that they can watch the kids on the slides. You can’t do both. And it’s super hot in there, so it’s uncomfortable. You either have to ride every single slide, or stand at the bottom. There are a lot of exit doors going straight to the outside that say “exit only - no return.” These are separate doors than what go to the outside pool deck. So I just can’t stress enough that parents are just standing and sitting, making sure their kids get to where they need to be. Was really difficult to find workers who spoke English. (Not people speaking with an accent, I mean people who spoke the English language.) So any question you needed to ask about food etc, almost no one could understand us. Never experienced that before. Food was super expensive. Lunch was $45 for 3 people with no drinks. And it wasn’t great. But slides are great. Lifeguards were super on it. Saw them jump in twice to help kids. Fine visit. We got a good deal, otherwise I probably would say we wouldn’t visit again.

We have been to Great Wolf lodge I believe 7 times over the last 5 years. My kids (5 and 9) love it here. The rooms have been very clean overall, they have been great visits, I actually think the water park is in better shape than 4 years ago even though some stuff is aging. That all being said this last time my wife woke up with 5 or 6 bites the second day. We inspected the mattresses before unpacking or sleeping and everything looked ok. However, after the bites we contacted management and they sent someone up. They immediately setup a heat tent and treated our stuff for 6 hours. They then said they would have a third-party inspection done, they did and called us to let us know they found bedbug casings in our room. I debated on the number of stars because past experiences were so good. Even now they were very responsive and took us seriously. But this incident kind of ruined the whole trip for us, we threw away our luggage even though it was heat treated just to be safe and washed everything we could after the heat treatment. We did not want to bring bed bugs home! I'm not sure what their prevention protocol is but their response was as good as I feel it could have been. But I wanted to let people know that this did happen, we were on the second floor closer to Magic Quest in a Kid Cabin room. Of course this was our first kid cabin room. I would like to thank the management team for being responsive, open and honest, but I can't give this visit more than 2 stars overall.
