It’s is a beautiful hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Environment was pleasant and welcoming. The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time walked in the door.

We stayed here on a last minute booking over the March long weekend. We are so glad we did. Susie and Gordon were warm and friendly hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. We stayed in ‘the residence’ with our two teenage children. It has a lovely new bathroom, a kitchen and a barbecue outside in the patio area. This is where we cooked dinner each night. We also took advantage of the included Continental breakfast each morning. We would highly recommend this B&B and would like to stay here next time we are in Launceston. Thank you Susie and Gordon!

Great location. 5 minute walk to main part of town for shops and restaurants. Rooms clean and tidy and beds very comfortable. Restaurant is small but the meals were nice and the staff very friendly. Room has all the amenities you need (tea, coffee facilities plus bathroom) Opposite the park, lovely for strolls. Monkeys to see between 8am - 4pm

The room was nice with a clean bathroom and comfortable bed, however very small and seemed better suited to someone on business rather than holidaying. There was quite a bit of noise surrounding as the front door opened to the car park, and the walls must be thin because you can hear voices from neighbouring rooms. The car park was also full most of the time so finding a park was difficult. I’d only recommend staying for business purposes only. Location was good.

Lovely place to stay. Well located to be able to get around the city with a supermarket across the street and walking distance to city centre and beautiful parks. Absolutely no noise from the road, other guests or neighbourhood do was very peaceful. The Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculately clean and the most comfortable beds ensured a restful nights sleep. I had requested a ground floor apartment and walk in shower for my elderly mother who was staying with us and these were accommodated. I really can’t fault anything about this place other than it would be beneficial to have lighting above the mirror in the bathroom for applying makeup and shaving. Would be happy to stay here again and would definitely recommend.

Reception was perfect - I arrived early and was offered a room immediately or a short wait for an upgraded room. Rooms are large, warm, comfortable, and stylish. The cafe and restaurant are very busy and Grain restaurant food is delicious. Highly recommended.

It was late at night when we arrived at the hotel. The room key has been placed in the mailbox, and they have notified us of the password in advance. The rooms are average in size but very tidy. There are two rooms, one with a double bed and one with two bunk beds. In fact, there can be up to six people. There is a supermarket in front of the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel also has laundry at its own expense.

We stayed in a family room. 2 adults and 2 kids. The site looks old and dated from the outside, but while the room we had was basic it was a great price, great location and large enough that we weren't tripping over each other. We had a really good trip and this room was perfect to come back to. It had all the facilities we would want, including a microwave etc.

GGuest UserCon: I would have given 5 stars except that on Friday night, the last night of a four night stay, we were kept awake until midnight by blaring live music from Mudbar which was on the ground floor below our suite. We were located on Level 2. Even having double white noise playing on our iPhones at full blast didn't drown out the noise. It ruined what had, until then, been a wonderful stay. I know Mudbar is not operated by Peppers Seaport but surely something could be done about the excessive noise. Pros: Wonderful staff from reception to housekeeping. Everyone super friendly and helpful. They should get a pay rise! We were in a Riverview Suite, room 2004. It had a lovely view and a balcony, was spotlessly clean and so spacious with a large living/dining room and a full spacious kitchen minus oven but had a toaster which was great for breakfast. Plenty of storage in the bedroom and the bathroom was really nice. Nicely located for walking around Launceston. The rooms been recently refurbished with new carpet and furniture and it was really comfortable.

GGuest UserWow! We stayed in apartment 10 which was the 3 bedroom accommodation. It was huge and more than enough for a family of 4. Nice lounge and dining area and modern kitchen with all the appliances you would need. We came late and had to check in after hours which the staff organised for us without issues. Free car park in the front. A bit of a workout walking up the hill but a good morning exercise ;) Location directly opposite the City Park and only minutes walk from the main mall. A quick walk to cafes for breakfast. The only negative was the wifi didn’t work, but not really an issue. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

GGuest UserNot recommended if you have heavy baggage as theres no elevator (only 2 floors though). The place is beautiful as it’s on the top of a hill, but not so convenient if you’re on foot to sightseeing / do grocery so I’ll give it a 4. We didn’t need much service it’s mostly just DIY without much issue so I’ll give it a 5. The place is definitely clean so 5. Amenities would be 3 due to the stairs for heavy baggages (might not be an issue for everyone), also there’s no blind or door for the shower so the water would spill out to other areas in the washroom even if you are very cautious.

MMlftVery nice staff and it is clean and comfortable. Every time when we come back, we can feel very relaxed. Outside is cold but our place is warm and we can have very relaxing hot shower.
There is free internet and there are many T V channels and movies to see. I can keep in touch with my family overseas. Kids and I can enjoy movies together.
The location is very good. It is in the city and very convenient to take public transport or visit tourist information centre to join tours. There are lots of warehouses, department stores, shops, cafe or restaurants around. I recommend anyone to stay at Launceston Central Apartment Hotel.

A warm welcome from friendly, helpful Jude was the start to a most enjoyable stay. Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. All good! Highly recommended.

GGuest UserI appreciate a hotel that offers a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave! It always helps being able to cook a little. The view was quite good too, overlooking Launceston, and it was an easy walk into town. Beds weren’t comfy with the springs being closer to the surface than I hoped. And whilst it may be small, the TV only picked up SBS Food. A good channel, but after a big day exploring it’s nice to just zone out which I couldn’t do. Would recommend for a short, overnight stay.

GGuest UserI would like to give the reception staff Lisa and Karen 10 out of 10 for wonderful service. I was trying to get a bed for one night and rang the hotel as I'd booked on what I thought was their website - I'd booked the wrong night and couldn't change it. Lisa was the lady I spoke to and she very kindly sorted it for me in such a lovely manner. Then when I arrived Karen was on reception and the welcome was warm and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Personality plus, what an asset! The room was on the small side but comfortable, spotless and had a fabulous view of the city. It is also within walking distance of two theatres, bars and restaurants. A genuine pleasure to stay here, thank you ladies.

GGuest UserWe stayed here as a family of five in a Family Room with private ensuite. We checked in 15 minutes early but the lady was happy to give us the keys to the room. The accommodation is upstairs on top of a pub/pokies. There is no lift so you have to walk up two flights of stairs and carry your luggage. Our room was very spacious with two single beds, and a sofa bed in the main living area. There was a private ensuite separating the queen bed room which was perfect for my parents. The room had basic furniture, a TV, fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. My son loved having a bubble bath as we only have a shower at home. The room was clean and the wide windows around the room made a good view of the outside which my son could look out of. Our room was situated next door to the communal kitchen and opposite to the shared bathroom which was very convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to a shopping plaza, restaurants, a KFC, Hungry Jacks, Coles and Woolworths. The only negative was that our room was situated along a busy main road and at night you could hear all the traffic passing by so we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Also our booking via booking.com said we would get two free welcome drinks for two guests upon arrival but we didn’t get that. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay at Mowbray Hotel and would consider staying here again.

BBarrAs a solo traveller just spending one night in Launceston, The Star Hotel was the ideal choice. It is centrally located and street parking was easy to find and free between 17.30 and 09.00 next day. The room itself was compact but comfortable with an ensuite. The friendly, efficient female staff member was able to help with local advice and when I decided to have dinner later, the food and service were exceptional. Three see a couple of stair cases to negotiate but really no trouble. This place was a highlight of my travel in Tasmania.

GGuest UserDISGUSTING! We entered the vuilding and immediately a disgusting smell of dirty feed crashed into our noses! We honestly wanted to throw up and at 7pm when we arrived there was already nobody in the reception to talk to or to complain to. My bunkbed had a chewing gum sticked on it (photo attached). At night people were loud till 1am and in the morning at 5am they were back on, behaving as if it was noon time. We complained the morning after to the hostal that did not assume any responsability, saying nobody ever complained. No compensation whatsoever, but how could we prove the disgusting smell of the building?! NEVER AGAIN. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED.
