After leaving HOSTALIN and its greedy cash payment receptionist, to the point of wanting to rip me off, I headed to hostal SAN ANTONIO. Since check-in was at 2 p.m., I could only leave my luggage. Check out at 11 a.m. and only bus to Paris at 8 p.m. When I tried to explain my situation to the owner, she pretended not to understand anything. I understood that I could leave my luggage but not my person. Nothing was offered to me, for example to leave the premises at noon as was specified in my reservation. I was forced to leave the place, feverish and weakened. I'm giving up on my day spent in Madrid in freezing cold.

The best thing about this small hostel is the location, a step away from Atocha, the Antón Martín metro station and the Plaza de Santa Ana. An area with a lot of nightlife, so there are people until late at night around. The rooms are small but quite clean. The bed is wide and quite comfortable, and the air conditioning works perfectly. The worst thing about the room is the shower, which is almost hard to get into, how tiny it is. In addition, the wall makes a strange shape so the shower curtain does not cover the space well and in the end you end up putting the entire floor full of water. I saw it quite quiet, without noise at night. The attention of the staff is quite attentive, although I only saw people at the reception the day I arrived. The rest of the days I did not see anyone. Of course, they give you 3 keys so that you can come and go whenever you want without having to call the doorman.
