Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. Not only is the hotel lovely but the views outside are breathtaking. The hotel rooms were large, clean and had everything I needed. Dinner and breakfast were gorgeous and I enjoyed the welcoming bar area. Staff were amazing and I can’t wait to stay again.

Second stay here not quite sure what is going on not as good as previous stay. Staff seemed sullen. No sparkling water in bar, coffee machine broken evening meal pasta dish disappointing pasta that is readily available at most supermarkets and a sauce that was just white wine and cream not reduced to take the alcohol off. Breakfast just ok I think the hotel may have a recruitment issue.

We were impressed with the smart neutral decor of the hotel , great bar with outdoor terrace . Room was spacious with good bathroom , food very good as was the overall service from friendly staff .Location on the estuary was lovely for an evening stroll , close to the Ravenglass Railway which we also visited .

The hotel or guest room above a pub was very nice it was January 2024 no one bothered to.put the heating on the room was freezing . The mattress was so old that the springs were cracking when you lay on it . The breakfast was ok, but £14 each was a rip-off . We won't be back .

I stayed here while in the area for work. The staff are so lovely and the room I had was huge, with a nespresso machine and a sofa, as well as the biggest bathroom I’ve seen in a while. The bed was really comfortable. There’s a great selection of breakfast options, cooked order each morning. I had dinner in the restaurant both evenings I was there and wasn’t disappointed. The portions are big and I can recommend the sticky toffee pudding. They also make their own ice cream, which is very good indeed! I would stay here again without hesitation. The views from the hotel are lovely too. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is that my room was chilly in the mornings.

We stayed at the inn along the road, but our breakfast was in the Pennington restaurant. Very disappointing, it was in fact almost identical to a Wether spoons standard breakfast, except wetherspoons have unlimited tea & coffee , we got one cup! My partner's eggs Benedict was atrocious, one egg, undercooked, on an uncuttable muffin, with cold sauce. For these 2 underwhelming plates, we were charged £28. Up to that point, we'd had a great weekend in the Inn ( including a lovely evening meal) so this spoilt it a bit. Need to hire a decent breakfast chef.

We had a large room in the annex as we had our dog with us. The room was serviced each day and there was plentiful tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate and biscuits available The restaurant was light and tables well spaced. Breakfast was extremely hearty and the porridge serving is huge! Be warned. Eggs Benedict were a great start to the day and there was a good choice of " full English" items. The bar lounge area was a good place to relax during the afternoon after a day's walking, although sometimes the TV seemed a bit unnecessary. The staff are helpful and welcoming. Good value for money . In fact I am going back with a friend this month!
