Comfortable and nice

Extremely well organised management ; we got a good night's sleep; very comforting. Nearby hotel good options for bfast ; shopping ; & adequate parking facility!

Have stayed here a few times now and it really is hit and miss with rooms when it comes to road noise. It is in the city centre so understandable you'll get some traffic noise though.

This hotel is very central in Napier and you can easily walk anywhere in the CBD and along the seafront from this location. There isn't a fully time person on registration so that can be a bit disconcerting but by touching base before you arrive it can all work out well. There isn't a lot of parking actually at the hotel but street park is very easy to find. The place is clean and comfortable.

I would love to give this hotel more than 3 stars it was clean, comfortable and well located but the reason it loses out is I have never ever stayed anywhere with such atrocious lighting. I might as well have been blind it was so poor and to get anything half way decent I had to turn on the light near the door as this was linked the the biggest light in the room. The shape of the room was such that the light near the door offered nothing in terms of room lighting except ability to have light on in the room. I can not believe the room light wasn’t on a seperate switch. It may seem odd to go on about lighting but hotels for me have 3 criteria lighting, noise from other guests and showers over baths. There is no shower over a bath and I’ll give them a pass on noise as it’s no worse than many other hotels I’ve stayed in.

First thing, it was annoying that the couple they were serving ahead of us was charged for $598 and for us $650. The place is reasonably clean but there are molds in the corners. They only provided us shampoo/conditioner all in one so this is what we used for body soap. We requested at the time of booking for extra pillows, none were given. We can't request for something when no one is at the reception. The place doesn't have enough car parks so you need to park across the road. They don't provide breakfast neither. The room is very small and I expected better amenities for their room charges. There is a fridge and coffees/teas.

Nice location and easy to find. Wasn’t happy about the lack of parking which wasn’t mentioned upon booking. When somewhere says they have parking I assume there is more than 10 spaces. Should be marked as ‘limited spaces’ On the up side, the room was nice and clean, the air con was on when we arrived which was lovely on a hot day. Check in was pleasant, even got a couple suggestions for dinner nearby. Close walk to main shopping area and waterfront.

I stayed at this property for three nights. The property is located on the outskirt of Napier's shopping/dining/entertainment precinct. It seemed to be the only positive point I could relate during my stay. When I checked in, the front desk tried to overcharge $60 on the room bill and said that it was what their system showed, until I showed the booking confirmation they sent me. What was underwhelming was their attitude that they could only be correct until they were shown otherwise. There is a lack of secure parking on the premises. If you can't find one during your stay, you will have to use on street parking nearby. There is a pub and some restaurants near to this hotel so it may not always be easy to find a parking slot. Also, finding a safe on-street park can be a bigger challenge esp. at night when some people may have drunk a few more pints from the pub. It is definitely a concern for those who drive and stay. The room was in a decent size and the furnishing was fine. The windows and balcony were a bit dated and filthy. A splash of new paint and occasional deep cleaning should have fixed them. The service during my stay was fair. Daily room cleaning was late (done after 3pm) but with labour shortage it was understandable. I would not consider staying at this place again because of the problems mentioned above.
