Wifi constantly drops in day paying wont make it better. Cleaning is poor will only do fast job on floor, some of bathroom every TWO weeks !? or after move out since Covid. Used to be weekly and whole room clean. They dont clean microwave, stove.fan hood ,fridge said won't dust or clean furniture counters window sills if you have things on any part of tables/dressers or even when you dont .TV windowsill underbed are now thick with dust is why I asked what is wrong. Said we have to clean our own rooms but for floor tub toilet and sinks. Wont give TP you have to wait in a line at front desk to ask when you run out.and for fresh towels Lots more possible COVID exposure in that. i had to move out of accessible room due to noise and now they even changed shower heads so its very hard to wash hair etc They said to save water. i got that surprise Friday night with no notice. Now my 5 minute showers will be 20. Not such a water savings, and even harder for me. This used to be a great place . Sadly I'm here in a disabled veterans program to avoid homelessness during Covid but its Less clean than it was and my choice noise outside room not dealt with was accessible or sleep wasn't good. Now no real cleaning? . Other longer term guests clean themselves or hire outside maids. There is not enough storage or accessibliity for long term stays and that you need to store things on dresser and tables is used as more excuse to not clean. What a shame they have lowered cleaning and room supply standards when saying they are higher. Been here 6-8 months and hearing more and more complaints .Not sure what local corporate is thinking -doing less while advertising it's more.

We have stayed here before and it was amazing, family owned and cozy hot spot. I’m not going to lie when I found out it was under new ownership and new employees but... wow I was beyond impressed!! Great place to stay with family. I was in the big room with my daughters for their spring break this year and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Check in was simple and easy The rooms are totally accommodating for family trips and I’d imagine others for solo. But our stay was fantastic, we had the big room right next to the sun deck and the ocean is about a 700 ft walk (if that really)! Great place to stay happy they’re still open during covid. This place went above and beyond— my daughter got bit by something or stung at the beach and the woman at the front desk that evening was able to pull out a first aid kit immediately to help us and accommodate ALL needs. She told me the room we were in was labeled the “party room” 219 and she was very kind, friendly, informative and did anything she could to help us with the sting or bite plus our stay. I can’t remember her name but she works evenings and I believe her name started with a K or Kayla. If she is the one checking you in then you will be in great and safe hands! The Newport Channel Inn is doing better than ever and we cannot wait to come back (minus the bite/sting from the beach) It may look older from the outside but the quality of the feeling of home being away from home, those special employees and the beach right across the street will always have me as a repeat guest!!!

Aside from the normal… Clean hotel, comfortable beds, delicious warm breakfast, excellent location… This hotel went above and beyond and being accommodating. I want to send a huge shout out to one of the girls at the front desk, Daisy. She had no obligation to go the extra mile for me, but she did. there’s nothing I appreciate more than outstanding customer service. I’ll be back and I will always recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel right on the beach. Enjoyed the views from the sitting areas...windows opened to let in the fresh ocean air along with the amazing beach and boardwalk views. Enjoyed some of the extras....beach cruisers to ride along the boardwalk as well as beach chairs and towels. Parking was a little tight; however, you had a spot in a secure parking area and parking is scarce in Newport. Location was excellent, right on the boardwalk with easy walking to both the pier, restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We will be back!

The facilities are definitely up to the standard of a four-star hotel. The outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are beautiful at night, the breakfast buffet has fresh fruits, and the mattresses and pillows are very comfortable.
