GGuest UserA great hotel with excellent service! Shandong hospitality at its best. From the security guards to the front desk, everyone was incredibly polite. They helped with my luggage and guided me to my room. The room itself had a lovely little courtyard, and the main courtyard was also beautiful. It's right by the city wall, so you can catch the gate opening and closing ceremonies in the morning and evening. The room had a smart toilet and a projector, which was a nice touch. I only stayed for one night, but it was a very comfortable experience.

GGuest UserThe room facilities were excellent, with smart home features throughout, and the TV even allowed screen mirroring. There were two types of pillows to choose from, which was a nice touch. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the hotel's overall environment was outstanding. The location is superb, less than a ten-minute walk to Wanren Palace Wall. The hotel is situated at an intersection, with several large shopping malls within 500 meters. Overall, it was fantastic. The staff were also very accommodating, allowing us to extend our check-out until 1 PM, which was a great help as we were traveling with family and could explore in the morning without our luggage. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI chose this hotel for its amazing architecture and also because the interior design is by a Singaporean firm (yes, Singaporean pride! And yes, I’m the guest from Singapore). Qufu is a small town and the hometown of Confucius, and everyone has an endearing way of addressing each other as Teacher or Laoshi here, as 子曰：三人行必有我师 ie we can learn something from everyone. I dare say the JW Marriott is one of the best options in international hotels here aside from the Shang, but Marriott is more conveniently located to the Confucius Temple site and main tourist attractions. I love the 孔门豆腐 here; I had it twice during my short stay. There is a nice story behind the dish; let the server tell you about it. The one who served me was lovely. I asked her if I could record her introducing the dish; she was a little shy and said her Putonghua is not standard (yes, the local people talk with a thick Qufu accent, so if you are out of town, ask them to repeat to you slowly in Putonghua or use a translator), but she allowed me to record anyway. Charming place.

Cleanliness: Tidy and clean, everything you need is there.

P.S. The last time I came to Jining was shortly after the Shangri-La first opened. Hopefully, I'll return to experience it again after its next renovation. Finally, a friendly reminder: choosing Shangri-La means choosing a trusted brand. People nationwide are drawn to your seafood buffet, so please strictly maintain quality control to avoid disappointing both new and returning guests. 🤞

MMalidaThe room was very satisfactory! Especially for breakfast, we could eat sweet potatoes from Sishui, which were really delicious. They were the best sweet potatoes I have ever eaten in my life, sweet and sticky.
In the evening, the hotel not only provided fruits, but also provided some longan and white fungus health porridge. Although I was afraid of getting fat, I couldn't resist the temptation and ate it.

CChichidechiFacilities: A great hostel, it's been a while since I've stayed in one, and it brought back good old memories. The rooms are in the back courtyard, very quiet, and there's a bar in the front courtyard where you can socialize. The price is also reasonable.
Cleanliness: Very good, very clean.
Environment: Great, the transportation nearby is very convenient, and it's also very close to the attractions.
Service: Classic hostel style, everyone is very nice and approachable. Next time I come to Qufu, I'll definitely stay here again.

10mins walk to their pedestrian street , you will find Luckin Coffee, Hey Tea etc and I highly reccomend MOBEN Thai restaurant located about 5mins walk (north) from Hey Tea .

We walked into a room which stunk of cigarette smell. Suspect it was either coming through the shared air vents or the linen/towels , as if they were dried at a location where others smoke nearby.
It's a pity because it's a really nice hotel.
We had someone trying to enter the lift with a lighted cigarette in his mouth , and I had to push him out . That's crazy .

GGuest UserOlder hotel, but still in pretty good condition. Nice quiet location. Breakfast OK. Must have the strongest coffee in China. Still, hotels providing toast without butter or margarine is a bit of a bugbear of mine, but a minor problem nonetheless. Shout out to the staff at this place who were all attentive, helpful and wonderfully pleasant. This hotel is about 1500m due South of the old town South Gate. To get to the hotel from the fast train station, take bus K01 (¥1) and get off at Datong Lu. Turn right for a hand made noodle restaurant at the intersection. Across the road is a popular McDonald's, and downstairs from that is a fully stocked supermarket. The 'san kong' sights start at the South Gate where you buy your thru ticke int. The temple and mansion are very interesting, and expect crowds. ¥7 for a Didi to the South Gate. The cemetery where 100k Kong people are buried is worth a look for the Confucius burial area. This area is only a 500m walk from the entrance. The whole wooded area is large, but you can skip the bus tour as they only stop at the main site anyway, and drive like Fangio through the rest. A slow three wheel open trike cost ¥10 back to the hotel

GGuest UserI loved my stay here! The people who run this place are super kind and welcoming. The room was big, clean and comfortable, and had everything you need (toiletries, water, tea, kettle, tv, good WiFi etc.). The location is perfect, just a 1 min walk from Confucius Temple and there’s a bus (K01) reaching there directly from Qufudong Railway Station. Would definitely stay here again!
