Outstanding
HHami NguyenThis guest house is a wonderful budget-friendly option in Samarkand. It’s conveniently located near the city center, only about 2 km from Registan Square and other major attractions, making it very easy to get around. The room rates are affordable, with options for 2 or 4 guests, which is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host is incredibly kind, gentle, and always willing to help with anything you need. One of the highlights was the homemade breakfast prepared by the family — generous, delicious, and offering a wide variety of dishes each morning.
For easier navigation or when booking a taxi, it’s best to search for “Bilol Hotel” on Google Maps.
Wishing this lovely guest house continued success and many more happy guests in the future!
HHidayatsan97815 minutes walk to Registan Square. The guest house is in the middle of residential housing/residential complex, just a few tens of meters to the highway. The place is quiet and comfortable like grandma's house
GGuest UserGreat 3 nights stay at Movenpick hotel with all amenities. Very convenient and close to the Gour Emir monument (4/5mn by walk) and the Registan square (15/16mn). A lot of cafe and restaurants around the hotel as we didn’t book the hotel breakfast. As we are lazy to dine out, we enjoyed twice diners at the restaurant Caramelle (really juicy manti and tasteful somsa & soups) We tried the sauna (hammam was under reparation) and the fitness. We had pleasant drinks at the pool bar. So we can recommend the Movenpick hotel at Samarkand. And the room rates are very affordable for a 4,5/5* hotel.
AAF2310It is not up to a 5 star level for the below reasons
1) the facility looks new from the outside and superficially it is grand but the details reveal that this hotel is subpar, for example the gym facilities, the elevators, etc… looks like a standard holiday inn
2) the staff barely speak English and when you ask them something the attitude is mostly cold and unwelcoming, not helpful at all
3) the room facilities didn’t work most of the time, for example the shower buttons, the phone or the aircon
4) the breakfast selection is minimalist, with v limited varieties
5) the location is far from city center
NNarrilexAn absolutely luxurious and stunning hotel!
It's located just a short distance from Registan Square, amidst the mahalla's historic residential buildings. Three parrots live at the reception, one of which seems to talk. The hotel feels luxurious, like you're immersed in an oriental fairy tale and actually living it. The rooms are comfortable; we were well-appointed and fully equipped, and we rested well before exploring the city on foot. Each room was provided with four 0.5-liter bottles of water. This was a lifesaver for us, as it was hot and sunny; we took the water with us and drank it gratefully.
A stroll from the hotel to Registan Square offers glimpses of historic residential buildings and inexpensive cafes. We liked Shokhrukh Nur and Historic. But for a more authentic experience, the Laghman Center is a better choice during lunchtime. Walking back from Registan Square, you can reach Shaboda Park, home to cafes and restaurants serving khalisa.
So the hotel is very conveniently located for both tourist attractions and gastronomic tours. You can also book a family spa vacation at the hotel: you'll be greeted by a swimming pool and cool jacuzzi, as well as a hammam and steam room.
We really enjoyed our stay here, thank you!
SSarah H.We had to extend our stay and decided to stay at the same hotel for practical reasons. The room is clean and convenient, they provide water bottles and Ahmed tea which is the best.
The only thing missing is a bidet in the bathroom. Breakfast was ok. The location is central, a few minute walk from everything you need to see in Samarkand. And a 15-minute drive from the train station. The man working at the reception on the last night was not as pleasant as the first two as he stopped us on our way to the room for the taxes we had to pay because we extended our stay. He could’ve done it differently and asked us while we checked out or simply told us to come pay when we have a chance to do so, which is usually what is done in other hotels. But instead I had to go back and forth several times to try and pay him by cardbecause he could not figure out how to make the card terminal work. I was so tired and just wanted to use the bathroom and go to sleep and he would ask me to wait an hour for his manager to come, and then lecture me about how things are done in hotels worldwide, as if I did not know, having stayed in hundreds of hotels myself… anyway, I figured he was just new and a bit awkward but there was no need for the condescending tone or to imply that we were going to leave without paying the taxes…
GGuest UserAfter a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.
GGuest UserLocation: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination.
My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea.
Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints.
On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.
GGuest UserVery satisfied, the service was very attentive. The location is within walking distance of the square, about 1.6 kilometers. There's a very good barbecue restaurant nearby. The staff speaks English, and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel entrance is very small, and I circled the building using the navigation system but couldn't find the entrance. Hahahaha, actually, the entrance is right on the road.
