We loved this hotel in Pingyao! I cannot recommend it enough. Great location as it’s in the ancient city. The room was very clean and comfortable. The best part is the owner, when we first arrived he gave us a map and highlighted the main things to see in the ancient town, also told us about the free light show (we wouldn’t have known if he didn’t tell us) which is worth seeing. He also gave us some snacks when we said we were going to Mount Mian the next day. We also do not speak mandarin so all of our communication was through google translate. Staying here was such a highlight of our China trip! Highly recommend!!

The hotel is conveniently located, very close to the county government. It is convenient for a family to stay in a suite. The room is relatively clean. Although the streets in the ancient city are noisy, the room is very quiet and I have a good rest.

I was a little worried before I came, afraid that the description on the Internet did not match the actual situation. After the result, I felt very satisfied from entering the door to the room. Soon after placing the order, the store contacted us by text message and asked when we would arrive at the store? When to pick up at the gate of the city? I also told the driver's phone number. We took the high-speed rail and got off at Pingyao Ancient City Station, and then took a taxi to the agreed Xiamen West Gate. It took about three minutes. The driver master arrived. He enthusiastically helped us carry our luggage and enthusiastically sent us to the store. The inn is in the ancient city. Not far from several important attractions, After checking in, a special person at the front desk introduced us to the main attractions of the ancient city and sent us a map. The inn is a two-in-one courtyard house, antique, carved beams and painting buildings, the first picture is the night view I was standing at the door, very beautiful, after entering the room, the overall look spacious and clean, different from the dirty mess of ordinary homestays, if there is another bigger table to put things, It’s more perfect, and the water pressure is a bit small, but it does not affect the overall satisfaction. The family is very satisfied, so we stayed for another night. If we come to the ancient city in the future, we will still live in his house!

The inn was renovated from the 300-year-old former residence of Hou Wangbin. The current owner has a strong awareness of protecting historical buildings. The entire inn has been restored to its original state, preserving its appearance 300 years ago as much as possible. All staff members are very polite and have a strong sense of pride and belief in Pingyao and historical buildings. We were fortunate to stay here for one night and to have an intersection with the buildings that were 100 years old. I hope that the inns in Pingyao can learn more from the practices here, and on the basis of protecting historical ancient buildings, more people can witness the value of Pingyao.

This is our second stay at this hotel. The reason is that we had a very nice time for our first visit 4 years ago. This time it was as nice as before or even much nicer! Kind and efficient staff, traditional chinese style building and room, delicious breakfast, clean room, everything was so nice. I definitely recommend this hotel. We are sure we will visit this hotel again.

The staff didn’t speak English, we didn’t speak Chinese and yet, we had no issues communicating. They were always willing to answer our questions and give us recommendations on what to do or eat. The hotel also has a washing machine to use free of charge. The room itself is big enough, particularly the bathroom was bigger than the one we had in the 4 star hotel in Beijing in which we paid triple the price for. We visited during low season so it was very quiet. Given the price we paid per night using a special promotion, it’s hard for me not to rate 10/10 due to the value for money received.

After climbing Yanmen Pass, we decided to go to Pingyao Ancient City on the spur of the moment. The inn we found on the road received 5-star reviews. We quickly booked the last room suitable for us. After booking, the boss called us and asked about our location. He also sent the parking lot location to the ancient city. No outside vehicles were allowed inside, so they drove to the city gate to pick us up. When we arrived at the inn, we first drew a map to tell us the location, interesting attractions, and delicious restaurants, so we wouldn’t step into any pitfalls! The room was clean and tidy. It was my first time to live in a Tukang, so I was worried about not getting used to it. The mat was made of latex and was very comfortable. I renewed my reservation for another night the next day. The boss is very down-to-earth, answers all questions and is very patient. I received local vinegar as a gift when I checked out and drove it to the city gate. It is recommended to stay here!

At first, I booked the room with a try-it attitude, thinking that it was a homestay after all. But there were many surprises that I didn't expect. The boss's wife contacted us and arranged for someone to pick us up at the station. I was surprised again when I arrived at the mansion. It is a typical Shanxi merchant's three-courtyard house, Chinese retro style. The courtyard is very clean, and the water view in the courtyard makes people feel very comfortable. The bedding in the room is exquisite, and the disposable items and toiletries are also quite good. It can be seen that the boss has done it with heart. The room is even equipped with a luggage rack. A homestay is comparable to the standard of a five-star hotel. The service is even better. The car picks up and drops off at the old street, which is very convenient. The breakfast is also a local specialty, and the Pingyao beef is particularly down-to-earth. The room facilities are all smart and high-end. I am very satisfied with the stay. I have recommended it to my friends.

The environment is chic, the appearance of an old courtyard, antique. The boss and the service staff are very enthusiastic, and they can make a phone call to and from the ancient city. Full marks for service attitude and service awareness. The downside is that the road is built at the entrance, which is not easy to find, and it causes a lot of dust in the room. But the hotel's sense of service is definitely the best! The boss saw that he brought a child, and specially upgraded the room type. Will go again next time!
