Hotel was nice, great location a very nice bay having said that the area in general was run down and a little tired looking. The food was generally very good, sometimes a lot of the meat dishes could be cold, which seems to be normal for the are. Having said that a good choice for, breakfast and evening meal. Staff ok although not what you would call friendly.

Tl;dr: I’d say this is good for a cheapish weekend getaway, or if you have a hire car. But unless you’re a beach bum, I’d recommend somewhere else. Positives: - Hardworking, mostly friendly and attentive staff. At breakfast they always bring out a tray of fresh fruit and drinkable yoghurt. On the night we arrived we also had a huge tray of food (mostly meat) unexpectedly awaiting us in our room. - Nice rooms, comfortable beds (apart from the pillows, I had to put cushions underneath), air con. There is a fridge and hob included but you’re not actually allowed to cook - I believe this is just there for boiling water, although you can also ask reception for a kettle. - Nice balcony view (even though we were above the entrance) with a nice outlook to the sea, which is right on your doorstep. The rooms further to the left have an excellent view though. - Good complimentary wifi that works well all the way down to the beach. - There is a small grocery shop a minute’s walk away, closed on Sundays like most places but has pretty much anything you should need. Negatives: - A major drawback is how far it is from anything. There’s a nice promenade but nothing but a few apartments and restaurants along it, many of which have little activity this time of year (late May/early June). You also have to walk past a caravan park to get to it unless you take a shortcut through the restaurant. You need a taxi or car to get to most places since there isn’t anywhere that’s feasible to walk to. Reception can call a cab for you, but you can sometimes be fiddled with prices compared to what Jet2 says, and there can be a lot of traffic leading into town. - Lack of facilities in the hotel. Again, things may pick up later in the year but there was just the buffet (the menu never changed) and the beach bar. There was no daily or nighttime entertainment - even just a guitarist would've improved things massively. The buffet often felt like an assault course with guests consistently pushing in front and the staff hovering around the food and standing in the way while flies get on everything (the rare time I decided to eat inside was an eye-opener) - Montenegro is sadly a smoker’s paradise and there’s no escape from the smell of tobacco anywhere you go, including the beach and restaurant. People just don't have any consideration even if you're sitting next to them. - Odd maid habits - sometimes they’d go above and beyond and slippers and a dressing gown were provided, but it took nearly a week for the sheets to be changed, and the duvet wasn’t even made up nicely. From reading other reviews it seems this a common problem. - The beach allows non guests to use it, presumably at a price, which may mean sunbeds are hard to get a hold of in busier periods (in late May/early June, this wasn’t so much of a problem).

If you want a holiday where you lie on the beach all day and don't mind hordes of children then this hotel is ideal. It is very family orientated and was extremely busy with families therefore the restaurant and beach was very noisy. The food choice was limited and didn't vary much and wasn't very hot. The last day of our visit there was no electricity or water so we couldn't shower or clean our teeth and there was no coffee or toast. Be aware there is no public transport, you have to book a taxi at reception. A trip into Budva cost €30 return but well worth visiting. Kotor cost €95 return, luckily we managed to share with another couple. A beautiful town but very busy. Make sure you take cash with you as the ATM near the hotel wasn't always working, they also charge €5 for each transaction. The airport transfer buses and excursion buses cannot get to the hotel and there is quite a walk. Having said all that the staff were extremely helpful and always cheerful. Would I use this hotel again - No Would I go to Montenegro again - yes but a different location.

If you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is not the hotel for you. This hotel is very family orientated and as such was extremely noisy both in the dining area and on the beach. If you are looking for a holiday where you just want to lie on the beach all day and don't mind the noise then this hotel is perfect for you. Also the lack of public transport made it very difficult to get about, taxi into Budva was €30 return and Kotor cost us €95, luckily we shared Kotor trip with another couple. Make sure you take euros with you as the ATM near the hotel wasn't working sometimes and be aware all ATM's charge approx €5 per transaction. There is no entertainment at this hotel in the evening and nothing else to do in the area. The food was the same choices every evening and at breakfast and not very hot. On our last morning there was no electricity or water so no shower, couldn't clean our teeth and there was no coffee or toast. On the days of arrival and departure we had to walk quite a way to meet the coach which wasn't ideal. Having said all that the staff were lovely, they were very helpful and always cheerful. Would I use this hotel again - No Would I go to Montenegro again - definitely but a different location.

The hotel itself is situated in the beautiful Jazz beach where it shares its location with 2 other hotels. Be warned however, apart from the hotel restaurant and a few other beach Cafes that is pretty much it for this secluded area! There is a great company that provide water activities / sport on the beach, very friendly staff - BUT only if you are willing to spend up to €150 for jet Skiing and €80 for paragliding. (Was very worth it though in our opinion!!) BEWARE - there is absolutely no public transport in this area, so you MUST get around via Taxis which were quite costly considering it was only a 8 minute drive to the neighbouring Budva. The hotel can book you a taxi which can range from anywhere between €11 - €15. On the way back to the hotel between €15 - €26!! , particularly in the evening, be aware of the scamming taxi companies, Montenegro is infamous for this. More about the hotel - The hotel itself is modernish. With beautiful sea and Mountain View’s, particularly from your balcony. But, we found the cleanliness of the hotel was not full marks from us. Our room was NOT cleaned daily, at most our towels were changed and that was it. We had to complain 2 days in a row that our bed sheets were not changed and another incident where there was a mark on them and they took ages to change them! Additionally, the food is pretty mid. They serve the same buffet style breakfast every day. The menu you can order from (and pay separately from) was quite nice. Although i unfortunately experienced a bad spell of food poisoning from eating the beef burger … so eat at your own risk. On the whole, staff are happy to help and provided good service. Also beware of the hidden tourist tax you will have to pay at the end of your stay which we were surprised with! €€ later …

Our overall holiday was very disappointing. We were not made aware that the holiday season does not start until the 1st of June and there was no bars or restaurants open and no bus service into Budva until the season opens. The food was buffet for breakfast and dinner and did not vary at all and therefore our dining experience was very poor.

The hotel is located on Jazz Beach in a bay surrounded by wooded hills and mountain views. The beach ranges from pebbles to shingle to sand so choose your spot. The hotel offers free sunbeds, beach towels are provided and there is a beach bar area leading to the restaurant. The road adjacent to the beach had a number of bars and restaurants. Not many were open early May but they were getting ready to open for the main season. Our room had the most amazing view of the sea! The room was large and modern with plenty of storage. We did email ahead to ask for a twin room and one bed was a single sofa bed but it was comfortable. There are basic self catering facilities including cooking rings and a larder fridge. We were the first Jet2 tourists in the hotel and were expecting a freezer and kettle (as stated by Jet2) but we were able to collect ice cubes from the bar whenever we wished and the hotel purchased kettles for us. The room had plenty of sockets and a USB. There was nice hand soap and shower gel provided in the bathroom. The staff at the hotel were amazing and did everything they could to accommodate our requests. As it was early season no buses were running but the hotel booked taxis for us when required. The food was to a local variety but we always found something we enjoyed on the buffet. There were always nice salads, with lovely cheeses and cooked meats, soup as well as meat dishes, fish, pasta and rice options. Some of the breakfast options we were unsure if they were sweet or savoury but there were pancakes, eggs, cereal, different breads for toasting, jams and honey. We never tired of sitting on our balcony admiring the beautiful view. Thank you again to everyone at the hotel for making our first visit to Montenegro very special 😍

We had a lovely time at the Hotel Poseidon with a view of the beach and sea from our balcony. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to accomodate us. The food was reasonable and we were brought fruit and yogurt for breakfast when we asked and other things too. The location is fabulous although a taxi is needed to reach Budva and there isn't anywhere to walk to from the hotel particularly. There are a few bars and cafe's nearby but we had half board. Sunbeds and parasols on the beach are included. The wifi is really good and worked right down to the beach. The room was big, smart and was cleaned every day. I would happily return.
