Guest UserPros:
1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable.
2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy!
3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms.
4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty.
Cons:
1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room.
2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee.
3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable.
Overall, we were still very satisfied. I imagine it would be even more atmospheric to visit in winter for the hot springs, though I expect it would be extremely crowded.

Zuogeyoushenfenderen88I've been to Gubei Water Town a few times, and each time, I've stayed at the Gubei Light Hotel. There were years in between my visits, and it wasn't that I deliberately chose this hotel; it just consistently came out on top when I compared all the options. This time, the service was even better! Manager Zhao Benlin provided attentive service throughout, from confirming my reservation after booking to communicating during my stay – everything was comprehensive. They even accommodated our small requests, from the welcome fruit upon arrival to a send-off when we left, which made us feel very comfortable. A big thumbs up to Manager Zhao! Next time I go, I won't even bother looking at other options; I'll just contact Manager Zhao directly! 👍

The room had all the amenities you could need, the bathroom was quite spacious with a great shower, and there was even a projector on the wall for watching movies at night. Overall, it was a very cozy and welcoming experience.

Guest UserThis is my second time here, and it's definitely my go-to hotel when visiting Gubei Water Town. The room was spotless, and the service was excellent. Even though it's located just outside the main entrance, getting in and out of the scenic area is super convenient – it only takes three minutes to walk there. I was pleasantly surprised because on my last visit, I was quite disappointed with the Chinese restaurant's food, but this time around, the overall quality has significantly improved.

Guest UserThis was a wonderful stay, starting with the warm and attentive guidance and service from Yanqi Hotel's butler, Shirley. The hotel's unique garden environment is a rare and private luxury in Beijing. Another highlight was the spacious and spotless room, with captivating lakeside views from outside the suite. Strolling through the grounds, you can see the harmonious coexistence of nature and culture everywhere. At the end of our trip, butler Shirley was already waiting in the lobby, and the concierge rushed over from afar to help with our luggage. Smiles, greenery, tranquility, comfort, stunning views, and personalized service are the keywords that come to mind for this hotel. One even deeper impression I have is that every staff member I interacted with or observed, genuinely loved their hotel. Even the servers in the breakfast restaurant could enthusiastically tell guests all about the hotel, as if recounting their own treasured possessions. It was clear this wasn't just trained rhetoric, but a genuine joy and pride from the heart.

The room is very spacious, and the bathroom area is quite large, perfect for a family. There's plenty of room for dining and playing together. The height of the chairs and tables is a bit mismatched; you sink in quite a bit when you sit down. The bunk beds were a hit with the kids. Plus, there's a private indoor hot spring in the room, which is free and quite nice. The hotel breakfast is pretty average, with the variety and taste on par with a 3-star hotel in the city center. The hot spring is connected to the hotel, and you can re-enter until noon the next day by registering your room number. However, you do need to exchange your entry wristband.

Anonymous UserAfter booking the hotel, I saw a lot of negative reviews, which made me quite nervous. However, I found it to be pretty good in reality. The environment is beautiful and the air is pleasant, perfect for a relaxing 'lie-flat' vacation, so I ended up staying for three nights.
As a five-star hotel, the hardware facilities, room layout, and spatial design are all top-notch. The accompanying gym and pool are also excellent. The gym has water and towels, and a good range of equipment, so I'd give it a five-star rating.
The main complaint about breakfast seems to be the small restaurant, but I personally felt the food variety met expectations. The live cooking stations for noodles and wontons were quite tasty, and there were also specialty 'huoshao'. The omelet chef was very friendly, and there were several coffee machines, both capsule and regular. The hot dishes were indeed limited, only three or four, which is a clear drawback. Also, the small cakes common in other five-star hotels were missing. I'd give it a four-star rating, but it's certainly not bad.
The Chinese restaurant, however, offers poor value for money. It's expensive with limited variety, many dishes didn't inspire me to order, and the taste was just average. Overall, the dining is a relative weakness. The Jing A beer at the lobby bar wasn't expensive, though. There are many takeaway options, but the robot delivery was a bit slow.
The housekeeping staff were very diligent, providing plenty of water and amenities. I was just a little surprised that after excitedly bringing my own tea, there were no tea sets. It was also a bit inconvenient that there were no toiletries by the bathtub.
The front desk staff were also fine. The World Horticultural Exposition is right outside, and the complimentary hot spring tickets made it an excellent value. I hope they continue to operate well, and I would stay here again if I have the chance.
Oh, and the entrance and exit to the underground parking lot are a bit small, so be careful when passing other cars.

LiuxiaomoOur weekend self-drive trip to Club Med Joyview Yanqing Resort exceeded our expectations! Backing onto Songshan Mountain, the air is fresh, and the resort's lawns and flower fields make for perfect photo opportunities. A leisurely stroll through the grounds is incredibly therapeutic. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the heated pool has excellent water quality, making water activities very relaxing.
The buffet offers a rich variety of dishes, both Chinese and Western, and the desserts are delicious. The G.O staff are friendly, and the activities are plentiful: rock climbing, archery, kids' club, and the evening stage shows create a fantastic atmosphere. A special shout-out to Suna for her thoughtful service, always interacting and reminding us of the activity schedule – she's awesome! The all-inclusive package saved us so much hassle; no need to plan, just pure relaxation. It's perfectly suited for a short family getaway. Highly recommended!

Anonymous UserOur long-awaited summer family trip to Beijing, with the New Otani Hotel as our base, turned out to be a relaxed and enjoyable journey.
Located in the heart of Chongwenmen, the hotel boasts an excellent prime location. This historic hotel, having weathered the years, has shed its extravagance to offer a truly solid and comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and bright, with good soundproofing, allowing us to rest peacefully at night after days of sightseeing. The girls at the front desk were exceptionally polite; seeing that we were traveling with children and seniors, they thoughtfully upgraded our room – another pleasant surprise during our trip. The staff were patient and attentive, striking just the right balance.
The concierge service for luggage storage was convenient, and food delivery to the room was quick and easy, with Mr. Guan Longhai providing meticulous service. The housekeeping staff, Xiao Rui and Sister Haiyan, were also kind-hearted and down-to-earth. Checkout was swift; simply handing the room card to the front desk staff was all that was needed. We'll definitely bring our child to stay here again on our next visit to Beijing.

This place has everything you could want nearby: food, drinks, entertainment, and shopping. It's really close to the subway station, and bus access is pretty convenient too. It looks like a regular hotel, but it's actually more like a hostel. The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, and there are a lot of international guests. I stayed here for a few days, and they even have washing machines and dryers available. Definitely my top choice for my next trip to Beijing!
