Top Couple Friendly Hotels in Longsheng

If you get the chance to visit Longji/Longsheng to hike through the amazing rice paddies, then you absolutely must stay at Li'An Lodge. The rooms are lovely, clean and quaint, and a cultural alternative to the more modern options in the larger cities. The lodge is run by Aaron who goes above and beyond to help visitors, give local recs, and speaks perfect English. He will also help you avoid any tourist traps.  Li'An lodge is also built on the highest point so you have a fabulous view, and is situated right at the starting point of the main hike in local area. The rooms give you a great view of the rice paddies and the village.  The food is simple and great, or you can eat around the town, which is very atmospheric. We came in the low season end of March, which was misty but fab and we had most of the places to ourselves.  Really can't recommend enough. If you get to Guilinxi (station) they will send a driver to get you. You can also book directly with the hotel over email with Aaron which is easy and efficient. 

What a find! This guesthouse is absolutely excellent. When staying at guesthouses, you always worry about things not living up to expectations, and while the online photos looked great, this place really nailed the details. From the bedsheets to the toiletries, from the tea to the food at their restaurant – I highly recommend their spicy chicken and rice paddy fish – everything shows the owner's dedication. It felt just like being at home, very reassuring. The staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly accommodating. I hope your business continues to thrive, and that you stay true to your original vision and maintain this level of service quality.

This guesthouse stay was truly fantastic, probably the most delightful part of my entire Guilin trip. The location and view are simply unbeatable. As soon as you open the window, you're greeted by the stunning, layered terraced fields. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee, just relaxing, makes time slow down. The facilities are also excellent, making for a comfortable and worry-free stay. The restaurant is on the rooftop terrace. We ordered the bamboo tube chicken and beer duck, both authentic and delicious. The owner even treated us to some homemade rice wine, which was sweet and delightful – a complete surprise. What impressed me most was the owner and staff's warm and thoughtful hospitality. They proactively helped wash our clothes and returned them to our room, patiently explained fun routes and lesser-known attractions nearby, and even kindly arranged transportation to and from the Dazhai parking lot and halfway up the mountain. We didn't have to worry about transportation at all during our entire stay. From the scenery and food to the service, every detail was carefully considered. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Longji Terraces; it's absolutely worth the trip!

Super friendly and helpful boss. The room is clean and has air conditioning, although there is no need to turn it on at night. It is quite cold at night when I was here in mid September. They serve a sumptuous breakfast and provide free laundry service. Beautiful view of the rice terraces especially at night when the lights are turned on. The price is not the cheapest in the village but definitely value for money. The hotel is up on the hill and can be a quite tiring climbing to it.

A comfortable, clean, family-run hotel in an excellent location, with a warm and homey atmosphere. Coming from Chongqing, we especially appreciated how the owners went the extra mile to organize a shuttle pickup for us from Guilin North Railway Station. The shuttle connected perfectly with the regular bus to Dazhai, making the journey smooth and stress-free. They also kindly transport guests to and from the main parking area before entering Dazhai village itself. After a long day hiking through the breathtaking rice terraces, we highly recommend trying the delicious homemade Chinese dishes prepared by the owner’s wife — authentic, fresh, and exactly what you need after trekking. Two final tips: don’t miss the chance to try on the complimentary traditional local clothing and take photos. It’s a fun and memorable touch that adds even more charm to the overall experience. Also, for a small fee (around 50 yuan), we had a wonderful cultural experience with two local women who proudly showcased their traditionally long hair and kindly posed with us for photos. It was a unique and memorable moment that made our stay even more special.

What truly stood out was the balcony and the breathtaking views from it; you can see vast rice terraces right from your room. The guesthouse is tucked away deep inside the village, making it a wonderfully peaceful and quiet spot. The owner is very accommodating; if they're available, they'll drive down to pick you up from the foot of the mountain, and for the return journey, an uncle will give you a ride back down on his motorbike. Do be prepared for mosquitoes and insects, as they are common in the mountains and might even get into your room. The guesthouse is conveniently located between two main viewpoints: it's a 15-minute walk to 'Thousand-Layer Terraces' and 20 minutes to 'Xishan Shaole'. I went to 'Thousand-Layer Terraces' every day to enjoy the scenery. Getting to 'Jinfoding Peak', however, requires careful navigation. I believe I missed an unmarked shortcut, which resulted in a much longer trek. It took me about an hour and a half of combined uphill and downhill hiking to reach 'Jinfoding Peak'. Even if I had found the shortcut, I estimate it would still take over an hour. The locals at the guesthouse claimed it only takes 40 minutes, but I suspect that's because they're familiar with the shortcuts and are in excellent physical condition. For anyone who isn't very fit, my strong advice is to take the cable car directly from the Dazhai car park to 'Jinfoding Peak' on your first day, explore it thoroughly, and then head down to the guesthouse.

Service: The owners are very caring. They handled our bus bookings and provided free transfers to/from the bus stop. They also gave us great tips on the best local scenic spots. Food: Exceptional quality. They use homegrown ingredients, and the flavors are balanced (not too spicy), which was a highlight of our trip. Value: Very fair prices. While other locals might upcharge for food, water and transport, this hotel maintains honest rates. Cleanliness: The rooms were very clean and comfortable. A truly pleasant stay, highly recommended!

The listing is located at the highest point of the terraces. It belongs to Jinkeng Dazhai. The landscape is invincible. We drove by ourselves. The steepest mountain road in the past reached more than 60 degrees. I still feel thrilling. But the landlord took the initiative to propose that the room can be driven on behalf of the car. The wooden structure is not very soundproof, so the prompt action is gently to avoid affecting others. The hot water is Very good, close to the observation deck No. 1, walk to the observation deck No. 2 ~ It takes more than 20 minutes. These two observation decks can see the most spectacular terraced scenery. No need to go to other observation decks. Bring your own meals and fresh food. The listing is very cost-effective.

The room was clean and tidy, the mattress and blankets were comfortable and warm, and the shower water was hot and plentiful. Standing on the balcony, you could see the entire rice terrace area, and they even provided a tripod for recording the sunrise – a rare find! The lovely landlady was warm and thoughtful, preparing ginger tea to warm everyone up, and serving local rice wine during the meal – fragrant and smooth. She also provided a basket of ethnic costumes, which we all enjoyed taking photos of. Furthermore, the hotel's public areas were exceptionally large; besides places to drink tea, read, or relax, there were even tables and ping-pong tables!

All these photos were taken from the balcony of the B&B! ! The owner of the B&B is very hospitable and the food is super delicious. I had to eat another bowl of my favorite noodle soup before leaving! With such a beautiful view and the friendly local Red Yao proprietress, we stayed one more night. Come on everyone, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, beyond words! ! !
