Hotels near GENTE ROMA BABUINO UOMO, Rome

With the expectation that this is a guest house (not a hotel), we were duly impressed with the amenities and cleanliness of this place. It is ideally located at Piazza Barberini (next to Metro stop, by the Triton fountain, and across the street from pick up of Rome hop-on/ hop-off bus), with a cafe across the street and several restaurants, pharmacy, bank nearby. It is about a 10-15 leisurely walk to Trevi Fountain, so location is attractive for tourists like us. We travelled as a family (2 adults, 1 child) and we were assigned a triple room overlooking the courtyard (very quiet at night, even for my husband who is a light sleeper). The central air conditioning was amazing, especially in the summer heat. The housekeeping is exceptionally prompt ( we would return after lunch for a siesta and the beds are made, bathroom cleaned, fresh towels available). While they don’t have breakfast onsite at this time, we are able to buy breakfast vouchers for 3 euros for the cafe across the street (this is the discounted rate since the same breakfast is €4.50 without a voucher). This was a quick breakfast type: cappuccino and a cornetto (croissant with Nutella or jam). If you want an American breakfast, that is also available at said cafe. Prior to check-out, the front desk arranged for our airport transfer (€65 van pick up). Alternatively, folks can walk to the taxi stand across the street (€50 standard tariff for airport drop off by taxis) but we had someone with mobility issues so pickup in front of the guest house was ideal. Other amenities included basic soap and body wash, in-room safe, water bottles when we first arrived and small refrigerator inside our room. There is also a vending machine near the front desk for additional water/juice and coffee vending machine (you will need coins- it was maybe 85 cents for a small coffee). There is a nearby PAM grocery we frequented for bottled water and other supplies. Overall, a memorable stay and we hope to back again soon.

The ho(s)tel was brand-new, and very clean! The beds where a bid hard, but thats personal preference. We asked for more pillows and towels, and they happily obliged. The breakfast buffet is pretty basic, so don't expect any warm/hot food like fresh eggs or bacon - but it's all you need. The whole staff was superfriendly. The location is perfect, as it's sitting at walking distance from the most famous sights: Colloseum, Trevi, ... Apart from that - it's only a 4-min walk from the metro-station 'Republica'. There's a convenience store located right in front of the hotel, which also comes in handy for getting a few bottles of water for the road. Would recommend, and definitely stay here again!

Really convenient location with only 3-min distance to Roma Termini giving you quick and easy transfer to the airport and elsewhere in Italy by train. Rooms have been renovated too. However, front desk staff was really rude. When I dropped my room keys in the transparent plastic box placed on the front desk for an express check-out and turned around leaving the hotel, staff shouted at me asking me to wait in line. The staff said I haven’t cleared my payment and tried to charge me full room rate plus city tax even though I have prepaid the room rate to Agoda in full. True that I haven’t paid city tax but they have swiped my credit card upon check-in or they could have asked me to pay upon check-in either. I suggested the hotel should have hided their express check out box if there is no such option available. The staff bluntly replied it is for guests who have cleared all the payment. It is really ironic who can enjoy express check out, if the hotel doesn’t charge city tax upfront nor charge it to credit card. Meanwhile, the room cleaning is so-so and forgot to refill shampoo/shower gel/fresh tower quite a few times during our stay. Also, the windows isn’t good at isolating street noise. I'm sure that each of us has his own scale of factors to evaluate whether a place is beautiful or ugly but that the added value is the people. In this clean, nice and very comfortable hotel, near the Roma Termini station, it is precisely the people who make a small hotel a point of reference for our trips to Rome. Paola from the reception was, and is, the person who followed us during the booking process and who went out of her way to help us project our photographs on a wall, in a small room set up just for us, a small group of photographers arrived in town for a two day photography course. We have been sleeping two nights in this B&B in Trieste near the railway station, in a third floor palace with lift. There is a parking in Silos nearby. Clean and spacious room. Heat. New bathroom. Exceptional shower. Abundant hand towels. Coffee machine with capsules. Heating machine with tisane. Fridge. All the structure is furnished with contemporary design works for sale. Recommended.

Only two stars but spotlessly clean. Lovely room and super shower room. Bed was firm but comfortable. Fridge in the room. Coffee machine and snack machine near reception. No lift. Room only. Area is a bit run down. Lovely park 100 metres away with pavement cafe/bar doing basic snacks. Would go there again

I went on a rugby weekend to see the six.nations competition Italy v Ireland. The staff made me welcome upon my arrival and advised me on certain security issues when visiting the top landmarks in Rome to make my experience less intimidating which i appreciated enormously since was on this occasion travelling alone. I even requested and took on the recommendation of the staff member for a good local hair stylist. he he There are plenty of good bakeries and small bars and restaurants in the neighborhood making this an ideal location in comfortable surroundings. Tip outside the hotel a short minute walk, is a direct bus line to the Vatican. Allin.all great and knowledgeable staff and very helpful. Room was good and a speedy elevator my floor. breakfast was sufficient with plenty of fruit and choice, Do get the Roma 72 pass i used the public transport quite often.

Abbiamo soggiornato in occasione dell'evento Europa in danza, insieme a mia figlia che ha partecipato alle audizioni con maestri internazionali. Personale accogliente e preparato. Pulizia della camera ottimale. Colazione a buffet con cibi salati e dolci davvero ottima. Nei pressi c'è un fornitissimo supermercato (Panorama). Facilità di parcheggio nel piazzale antistante l'hotel. Ottima esperienza. Da ripetere.

It was fantastic. We will surely book room again. The reception and all other staff was very friendly. It was quite peaceful at night.

There is a parking lot on the ground floor of the hotel, a little far from the airport, no problem with self-driving! The room was clean, the first hand went straight to the right and the first one was a great restaurant. The breakfast was not fixed. It was also a right-turning, straight-going cafe. It was very good to open a cafe at 5 in the morning.
