Island Shores Inn

5 of 5 stars. This is an older motel that has been completely renovated with an “Old Florida” retro theme. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool was sparkling and fresh. Definitely a budget hotel and well worth it. Its location is about a 10 minute walk from old downtown historic St Augustine. The walk takes you across the famous Lion’s bridge and you won’t have to deal with parking. A short Uber ride is an option.

The Local is amazing! Digital hotel, flawless check in,room key the pool is darling and I had it all to myself, fresh towels pool side flamingo floats a plenty. Rooms equipped with everything you need soap,wash,shampoo conditioner etc. microwave and fridge,seating area plenty of closet space,dresser and safe. Location perfect,safe,walking distance to restaurants and short ride to downtown to historic sites. Love the fact that what would be the lobby is a quiet self service space for all your complimentary coffee,espresso,tea cappuccino needs to stay or go.

Always the Best Spot in town. No matter if it's one night, a weekend, or a week. Always The Local. It's always clean and reliable. The owner is amazing as always. I honestly can't count the times we have stayed at the local. We are a small owner and love to give back to another Small Business Owner.

Room was perfect size with a comfy bed and cold AC and fridge (crucial in summer!) - loved the decor too! I was close to the road but didn’t notice noise at all and there was a white noise machine if I’d needed it (which I didn’t). Absolutely loved the digital check in and out and the couple of times I had a question, they answered immediately. Multiple good restaurants within walking distance and close to the Lighthouse and historic area. Will *definitely* stay here my next time in St Augustine.

The Local is wonderful! Clean, beautiful, spacious enough for a night or two. We have a 1 yr old and was able to set up his play yard and had plenty of room. There’s so many nice things to say about this place. Location, the nice pool, the lobby for coffee and lattes, the upstairs over look of A1A(so cool). We walked to the Bridge of Lions for sunset, how awesome that was. Just a really nice little stay. Five stars+. We didn’t need anything extra, but I asked one question and got an immediate response. There was no issues of it being contactless, it’s actually pretty neat. We will be back!

Amazing location, clean rooms, gorgeous pool, delicious coffee bar. Walking distance to several amazing restaurants and bars. We loved being so close to the amphitheater and our favorite taco spot across the street Mojos. This will be our preferred venue to stay when we visit several times a year.

Absolutely perfect place to stay! Highly recommend! I have no complaints at all! It was a great location, walking distance to food and shops. The pool was very nice with floats, plenty of laying out chairs, tables to eat. The place was so cute and clean. I’ll definitely be staying there again.

Great place! Loved the vintage feel and Floridian decor! Pool wasn’t crowded, and host responded very quickly and was very helpful! Great location too! The taco place across the street is a must! The staff was very nice, nice little coffee and tea bar too. Highly recommend

This is a clean and safe nostalgic motel not far from the historic district. The coffee, espresso, and latte machine is an added plus. I appreciate being able to park right outside the room. Other reviews mention the noise level, and while it is on a busy highway, the suppled white noise machine and air conditioning sounds drown out any noise and lull you to sleep. Even though there is no office staff, you will receive continuous communication via text from the manager who seems open to getting anything you need.
