Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax Costa Adeje

Four of us stayed at this lovely hotel. We done bed and breakfast but we ate there two nights as well. The interior of the reception is lovely and as to was the welcome.. The food is exceptionally good and the choices are great. It was my wife’s 60th birthday and the hotel gave us a lovely treat of a bottle of Cava in our room one day of the stay. The evening entertainment is quite good to with a variety of singers or soul Dj’s. It was quite busy on our stay and we always had no trouble with any service. My reason for a four and not a five is like I said it was busy and the sun loungers were virtually all gone by 10.30. Yes you would get one, maybe ? but they were few and far between. Why does the hotel not clamp down on these people who lay their towels out before breakfast and don’t show up until the afternoon. The only ones that were available were probably in the shade all day or beside a Childs pool.. The hotel is lovely and our stay was great. I would recommend this hotel and hopefully they get a grip on these sad people that have to lay out their towels.. Five star hotel, so sorry I had to give it four.
Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey

I have to admit that when I arrived at Santa Cruz I thought I'd made a terrible mistake in booking this holiday. The City itself is very industrial on the outskirts and is not a traditional holiday resort type destination. After exploring the city the next day I was relieved that there are some lovely bars restaurants and open spaces in the city well within walking distance of the hotel. It is a totally Spanish resort, there is not a lot for kids to do and most people do not speak English. The restaurant s are mainly Tapas and generally close at around midnight. There are no tourist type shops at all. I traveled with my family 2 kids aged 12 and 14. We had a good time but it was tricky at times because you have to make an effort. Having said that it was a good holiday the city has amazing shops and the outdoor lido is well worth a visit. The beach is also lovely but again no shops nearby. There was no where to even buy floats or beach stuff. The hotel is first class in terms of service, facilities and location. My wife and I would return but for a shorter stay and if I could make one change to our stay we should have hired a car. To visit the South.
Hotel Botanico y Oriental Spa Garden

This was our third stay at Hotel Botanico, and we felt like we were returning 'home' after a gap of 2 years because of Covid. This is such a beautiful hotel, in a stunning, peaceful garden setting. The rooms are excellent, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful swimming pools and amazing spa facilities. There are lots of restaurants and bistros very close by, as well as the hotel's own restaurants, and a shuttle bus leaves for the main port just a 10 minute ride, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops etc. Jet 2 holidays were efficient, helpful, and all the arrangements worked.

Food is bad, one in our family got sick after eating in the restaurant, after few days we had to call a doctor. Next day we were flying out in the afternoon and the person that still was sick asked for late check out and stated the reason why, the answer was still no. Even stranger, one night we asked for virgin mojito at the bar, the three bartenders who were working all said no. That they were only alowed to make it with rum, when we offered to pay the regular price but asked them just to skip the rum, the answer was still no. Ot seems that the poor staff who mostly are very nice, are not allowed to male any decisions on the job, no autonomy, making the services robot-like an heartless. The problem obviously is whit the managers that were screaming at the staff when I arrived and the computer system had crashed, I didn’t have to understand Spanish to understand how terrible managers are in this hotel.
Balneario Pozo de la Salud

The hotel has a lovely position by the sea and it also has some fabulous views of the mountains as well. We had a first floor sea view and the room was very clean & comfortable. No safe but you can make tea/coffee in your room. Our evening meal was good, nothing spectacular but we enjoyed the ribs, the restaurant lacks atmosphere. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, which is very late especially if you are going out walking. Breakfast had a good buffet selection but nothing hot available. We were disappointed that we were unable to book a massage/treatment in the two days that we were the there as the hotel was not particularly busy. Reception was a bit hit and miss, we had to keep reminding them about our picnics, which were forgotten on both days. The restaurant service is good. We did a nice walk from the hotel to the Arco de la Toscas (a natural stone sea arch) which is about 9km return. There is a bus stop outside the hotel but I think the bus is quite infrequent. It is a hike up to Sabinosa but there is a footpath which will avoid most of the road. The pool has some loungers and a good view of the mountains but we didn't use the pool. There is a bar/restaurant opposite the hotel where we enjoyed an early evening beer.
