My sister and I spent two nights at the Hotel Nova Sintra and had a great experience. The hotel is family-owned and located about 1/2 mile from the historic center, an easy walk and away from the tourist throngs in the historic center. The room was very clean and comfortable and there is a very nice rooftop plaza out front. Breakfast offered hot (scrambled) eggs, sausage, and potatoes. There was fresh fruit and sliced tomatoes, pastries, and a machine that made a nice cappuccino (among other coffee drinks). The service was great. The hotel arranged a car for us from the Lisbon airport. They referred us to two very good local restaurants for dinner and even made reservations for us. The morning we went to the Pena Palace it was pouring rain. The hotel lent us an umbrella and called us a taxi that took us to the palace entrance so that we avoided some of the rain. They also told us the route to take to walk down from the Moorish castle to the city. The proprietor and his son were very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend Hotel Nova Sintra.

My husband and I spent two wonderful nights at Hotel Nova Sintra. Rui, without a doubt, made our stay. He is attentive and friendly and you feel as though you’re a guest in his home. The hotel is perfectly located, close to free parking and all that Sintra has to offer. The expansive terrace was our favourite place to reset, with a glass of wine, before heading out to dinner and the dining room, a great place to start our day. We really enjoyed the healthy options at breakfast: granola, seeds, fruit, yoghurt, milk alternatives and freshly squeezed orange juice in addition to other, more traditional continental fare. The room was bright and comfortable and also quiet in the evenings. The shower was also wonderful: great water pressure and nice and hot. If you plan to stay overnight in Sintra, this is the place.

A hospedagem no Nova Sintra, foi superior a nossas expectativas,a localização e o café da manhã incríveis, a limpeza e acomodações do hotel impecáveis, o sr Rui é de uma simpatia ímpar, nós ajudou com dicas de passeios, restaurantes, fez toda diferença em nossa estadia, o sr Domingos também muito simpático, ficamos por 3 noites, e foram as melhores, quando for a Sintra novamente, será no Nova Sintra Hotel que ficaremos novamente.

any kind words you read about rui are true,he's a great and knowledgeable guy who clearly loves his job. hotel is not a 10 minute walk from the train station and despite being on the top floor(no lifts)staff were more than helpful with my suitcase. my room(attic)was basic,very clean and spacious and was a pleasant place to come back to after a days sight seeing,throw in a lovely and large terrace with fantastic views that i found super relaxing and a good choice of food/drink at breakfast and this lovely hotel has a lot going for it.

Nous étions dix personnes du Québec venues faire de la randonnée pendant quatre jours à Sintra et les alentours.Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux de monsieur Rui qui nous a reçu comme la famille.Il nous a fait d’excellentes recommandations de restos, nous a organisé le transport vers Lisbonne.N’oublions pas les copieux petits déjeuners ou le 5 à 7 sur la terrasse.L’hôtel est bien situé,à distance de marche du quartier historique et de la gare.

Because it should be 5/5. Rui is wonderful, the location is very close to the station, and the room is spacious, clean and lovely (especially the terrace!). You can tell that a lot of effort went in, to look after this place and for the visitors. The walk to the historical centre is about 15-20 minute walk, which for some people might seem a bit far, but the walk is very enjoyable you don't even realise it. I also recommend booking a tour with Wonder Van (pick up point is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. TIP: If you book directly with them you can book cheaper) The 2 days in Sintra has been the highlight of my travel in Portugal.

Charming hotel, located close to the historic town and convenient for the palaces etc without being in the thick of things. Comfortable renovated rooms, pleasant views, lovely garden and terrace. I would echo all the complimentary comments on the personal management of this hotel - Riu is clearly very experienced and constantly attentive, helpful and charming.

Petit hôtel calme, bien situé à 5 minutes à pieds du centre-ville. Accueil extraordinaire, nous avions l'impression d'être dans une chambre d'hôte! Renseignements précieux sur les restaurants et les circuits de visite. Petit déjeuner parfait et complet. Une jolie terrasse très agréable. Un excellent séjour!
