Kanaya Ryokan

It's a very old-fashioned hotel. The air conditioner in the public area can't be turned on. It's not very hot. There is no toilet in the room. You need to walk to the public area. I happened to live on the second floor this time and had to carry my luggage up. There is no sense of service and the hotel is also No meals are provided. If you arrive late, you can only buy instant noodles from a nearby supermarket.

I stayed there with my son without meals when I returned home for a memorial service. Being a local, I knew the name of the inn, which was a bit quaint, but by chance there was a cancellation, so I decided to stay there. The rooms have a very old feel and elegance, and you can hear the fresh greenery and the chirping of the yellow-spotted bulbul from the window, making it a nice inn. The room has a toilet and sink. Both rooms are well-cleaned and the futons are comfortable to sleep on. The only disappointing thing about the room was that it was on the second floor, but there was another room next to it, and the walls were thin, so it was very noisy, so I wanted it to be quiet at night. It's worth taking a bath at least once. The cypress bath was spacious and had a great atmosphere. There were only two showers in the washroom, which was a bit inconvenient. There is no hair dryer or mirror in the changing room, so you can use the hair dryer in the sink in your room or in the hallway. There is a small cafe nearby near Rendaiji Station, and we took out bread and coffee from there for breakfast and ate it in our room. There is a 100 yen store, a home center, and a convenience store within a short walk around the inn. I went to a high school near here, and I was surprised to find myself staying at Kanaya Ryokan at my age. I feel very nostalgic and plan to take a leisurely stroll around the area the next time I return home. Of course, after the walk, we took a bath in the 1000-year-old bath.

The 1,000-person bath was spacious, just like its name. It was nice to be able to take a bath without worrying about other people. Moreover, mixed bathing. It is not popular late at night and still monopolizes Japan's best all-cypress bath. Sashimi was fresh in the meal. After all it is the best that the sea is near. Not only the taste but also the number of items made me full. I would like to use it again when I go to Izu.
