Family Holiday - September 2024 We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable week stay at the TUI Blu Grupotel Turquesa Mar (September 2024). We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 3 months). Our review below highlights on the positives first: 1) The staff were fantastic. Everyone we dealt with were friendly & extremely accommodating. Unlike other resorts we have stayed at, the TUi staff were not that pushy when it comes to partaking in activities around the pool which was a sigh of relief not having to constantly say no when being badgered into playing ‘water polo’ for example. 2)The hotel throughout was very clean. There were staff always on hand tidying up and our rooms were always cleaned daily. 3) The restaurant offers a very good and varied array of food choices for all ages. Our 3 YO can be quite fussy but we never had any issues finding him something. We didn’t get chance to try the Taverna restaurant as when we tried to book, there was no space left, so best to book this a few days in advance. 4) The Pool sizes were of a great size for the size of the hotel. The main pool area comprises two large pools, a plunge pool, a baby pool, a slide section and easily accessible to the indoor pool. There were always plenty of space and we never struggled to get a sun lounger. There is another pool which is up behind the football pitch but we never ventured up. 5) The Room sizes were great for a family of 4. There was plenty of room for all 3 x beds and the cot in the bedroom and plenty of space in the sitting area even when it had all of the suitcases and pram. The air con was also fantastic. We do however have some negatives that we want to share, moreover as recommendations to the hotel / any people thinking of coming for possible changes that we feel would be beneficial, but these didn’t stop us as a family having a very good time. 1) The Timings are odd for people with young families I.e 8am for breakfast was some mornings a stretch when our little one wakes up at 6/630 and says ‘I’m hungry’. We did sneak some fruit out from the evening meal so he could have this in the morning, but the hotel do discourage this. 2) The Drink and ice cream choices for an all Inclusive is poor and you have to pay extra for nicer ice creams / drinks, annoying when you are paying for all inclusive and not something we’ve experienced with other all inclusive resorts. 3) There was No lock on the balcony door (we were in a 1st floor room) which meant our 3 YO could quite easily open the door without us knowing if we were in the bedroom and go out onto the balcony. 4) You definitely need a decent pair of footwear for around the pool. The pool area was jet-washed every morning, but once wet, the tiles are extremely slippery and we saw several people slip over. There are signs up to warn people, but recommend good quality flip flops or of the like. 5) There are no pool side tables which meant when you bring a drink back it
