Great
IIraidkaOverall, I had a positive experience at the hotel.
Pros:
- Location: It's in the heart of the historic district, right next to the Sirkeci metro station. You can easily walk to Sultanahmet, the Grand Bazaar, and the Spice Bazaar.
- Great rooftop restaurant with a fantastic view.
- Delicious breakfast.
- Very friendly staff: I especially want to commend the housekeeper, who was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to requests for water, clean towels, and an iron, which was brought to my room instantly.
Cons:
- There was a sewage smell in the hallway.
- The air conditioning/climate control was not adjustable. It was either too hot (27-28°C) or freezing cold (16°C). You couldn't set a comfortable temperature; you had to call reception, and then the temperature would change for the entire hotel. We couldn't quite figure out how it worked.
- No window in the room: It was advertised as having a city view, but in reality, it looked out onto the wall of the neighboring building.

Great
LLibukaidechenghuaThe rooms were, as always, very comfortable, and the bathroom system was excellent. The hotel view was also beautiful, especially from the breakfast restaurant, in the innermost corner, where you can see the strait – truly a delightful breakfast experience. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the surprisingly strict security check to enter The Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul, where both people and bags have to be scanned! I later found out that many diplomats stay here… so… you get it. The hotel provided various chocolates, as shown in the picture. The toiletries cost 45 Euros per bottle if you take them home, but you can use them freely inside the hotel. There were many old maps of Istanbul in the hallway, and my child spent a long time studying them with great interest.

Great
GGuest UserI stayed at Roco Hotel in Taksim for about two weeks after getting stranded while traveling to the Middle East and needing to quickly find a place to stay while figuring out my next steps during a period of regional tensions. The reception was calm and very accommodating when I arrived. They upgraded me to a room the first night, and when I later extended my stay, they moved me to another room, both of which were comfortable. Housekeeping kept the room very clean and laundry service was available, which was helpful during a longer stay.
The location is excellent. It is right in the middle of Taksim with easy walking access to Istiklal Avenue, the mosque, restaurants, markets, pharmacies, ATMs, and multiple currency exchange offices. It’s a very convenient area if you want quick access to many things in the city, and restaurants nearby can also deliver food directly to the hotel if you prefer to stay in.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, from the reception team to the housekeeping staff. My only complaint was the amount of solicitation through WhatsApp after I shared my contact information. When I extended my reservation, I received repeated messages about prices and tours, which felt a bit overwhelming. It would be better if communication was limited to necessary hotel matters unless the guest specifically asks for additional services.
Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend the hotel, especially for short stays. The location alone makes it a great base for exploring Istanbul.

Very Good
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked its location. Staff are friendly and helpful and we appreciated the daily room cleaning and reset. The best feature of the hotel is that it is well situated to explore Istanbul and is about a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet Square where you will find many of the main attractions in Istanbul like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is a tram line station very close to the hotel and it is a short walk to Sirkeci metro station. It was a good base for us as we checked out the areas across the water. It is a little far from both airports with each taking about 1.5 hours to get to but we felt the location was worth the time.
The room's decor was a bit aged but charming. The beds were comfy and you can get extra pillows here. The room ran a bit warm during our stay but it was a bit noisy outside with frequent tram trains and restaurants below so we kept the window shut. They do have air conditioning and a radiator but we felt the AC wasn't worth turning on during a cool stay in December. Our neighbours were a bit noisy and it kept my wife up but I had no issues sleeping. It was moderately inconvenient when the restaurant decided to pop their new year's eve decorations at 1 in the morning. The bathroom was good and clean with good shower pressure, soft towels and we appreciated the warming rack for the towels. They provide soap and shampoo in dispensers in the shower.
The breakfast was decent enough to start the day. They had enough to do a Turkish style breakfast and most options were pretty light. They had some hot items like sausage, scrambled eggs and other options that changed daily. They also had an area for cold items like cheese, labneh, yoghurt, vegetables and some cold cuts. They had a limited selection of fruit with some oranges and apples. They also had coffee, tea, juice and water. I had an early check out on my last day and they made me a nice bagged lunch to go to the airport with and have me a big can of juice which was very nice. The hotel provides bottled water for guests as well as lots of tea for in room use.
The hotel has a restaurant on site and a small outdoor patio that is open for lunch, dinner and late dinner. They have some spa and massage treatments that you can book at the front desk. There are quite a few bath, restaurants, shops and other experiences nearby. People in the area are very friendly, welcoming and will invite you into their shop or restaurant...frequently.

أأبو بندرOur stay was wonderful in every way, but they ruined it at the end. We asked for an hour and a half extension for check-out, and they flat-out refused. In fact, they even called our room and, in a threatening tone, told us to leave quickly.
GGuest UserGreat appartments, wonderful facilities around the hotel compound. Found the cleaning staff in particular to be very helpful and friendly, specifically Sebahat and Nurgyl. When I noticed that the bedroom window was a little dusty they very cheerfully went and got everything needed to clean the windows there and then and they did it with a smile. Lovely to see and thank you!
DDawood Al-SalmanUpon arrival we received a room facing the main street. We could not sleep well because of the noise of the cars, but the next day the room was replaced with a quieter one. Thanks to the understanding staff. Everything was good, but the room's bathroom is old and needs maintenance and updating.
AAnonymous UserThe room was nice, but there's a mosque nearby, so it got a bit noisy in the mornings. The breakfast was really bad, but the hygiene and environment were decent. The main issue was that many of the staff didn't speak English, which made communication difficult.

SSam ALnI am writing to provide feedback regarding my check-in experience on the night. Unfortunately, the initial interaction with the nightshift receptionist was highly unsatisfactory and dumb.
Upon arrival, the porter appeared unwell and was notably discourteous. He was unable to efficiently process my check-in, which caused a significant delay - I arrived early and there were rooms available but instead of earning a guest you letting people move a way. After a long journey, this was a disappointing welcome.
Thankfully, the receptionist, Mert, provided excellent service. He was professional, polite, and clearly explained the hotel's procedures. His assistance turned a negative situation into a positive one. This feedback is to have a word with your night receptionist please. Also, I booked a room with partial sea view but given a room that views the city but the view is nice and room is nice.
