Very Good
KK T Richard TanIt was my first time staying in a university dorm as a tourist. It reminded me of my student days.
The reception staff who handled our check-in were very friendly and most helpful.
At the reception, we learnt about the self-service laundry, breakfast, convenient shop, bar and lounge etc.
The room was of a decent size. In fact larger than some hotels. The ensuite toilet and shower were small but adequate. WiFi was strong enough.
Good that there was a lift. Tourists like us do carry quite heavy baggage..
Although the room faces the open space where students gathered, the noise did not pose any issue at all. It did not go on late into the night.
There were a few lounges. A pantry. A games room.
Breakfast was really very good. The restaurant was huge. The buffet was well organised. Food was freshly cooked. Eggs, sausages, haggis, cereals, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, all kinds of bread, etc. The atmosphere was incredible. Just like any campus full of youthful energy.
The campus was beautiful just at the foot of Arthur's Seat. And bus transport to the city centre is readily available. It is actually not far to walk.
KKirillIn principle, not everything so bad, waiting was worse. Even managed to sleep. At 2:00 a.m. somebody came and woke up with his noise, nobody was insured against it

CCinderbellaThe location is absolutely perfect — it’s literally right in front of the castle, and there are plenty of cafés around, so the vibes are really nice! 😍
BUT the room itself was super tiny — honestly, it felt claustrophobic. Definitely not recommended for families traveling around the UK with lots of luggage. Thankfully, the reception staff were very helpful and let us store our suitcases at the front desk because they knew the room couldn’t possibly fit all of them 🤓 I even had one of my suitcases stored in their locker, lol.
There was even one night when the AC in our room suddenly stopped working, but the staff handled it really well and helped us move to another room — no hassle at all, which we really appreciated!
One important heads-up: this hotel is not wheelchair-friendly. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind if accessibility is a concern.

GGraham HoodI would describe the twin lions hotel more of a b & b. It was very basic. It was only a 10min walk to murrayfield and they don't double / triple there price on match days.
AAzibasuam LilianI loved the location as I had access to the park for the children and to the shop. I loved that the room had enough beds for all of us (5 people). I would have appreciated if we could get plates, as we came with food. It was great the room had a microwave. There was plumbing issues that delayed our shower time. But stay was good.
