3-Star Hotels in Hamburg

Great stay — second time and still amazing I had another wonderful stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Hamburg — this was actually my second time here. The first time I stayed with my mother, and this time with my fiancée, and both experiences have been consistently great. The service is excellent. The staff are always smiling, very kind, and extremely polite, which really makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Everything about the hotel feels lovely and well taken care of. The gym is nice and well-equipped, perfect if you want to keep up your routine while traveling. Breakfast is amazing — plenty of options and everything fresh and tasty, definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The location is also fantastic. It’s close to public transport (there’s a tram stop nearby), making it easy to get around the city. There’s also a great falafel/döner spot close by if you’re looking for a late-night snack, which was a fun bonus. Plus, it’s very close to Westfield, where you can enjoy the scenery and find lots of nice restaurants and shops. Overall, an amazing stay once again. Thank you to the whole team — I’ll definitely be back.

Hotel is about an 8 min walk to the train station. There is construction nearby which meant we had to walk a short path in the dirt through a park area but not a big issue. Hotel was clean and beds were comfy. No toiletries or amenities though. Not much to eat around here though (nearest restaurant is near the train station). Easy and simple check in/check out procedure.

This is a no frills hotel good for staying a couple of nights. It is quite expensive for what it actually is, but it was among the cheapest options I coule find when booking. Perhaps that's the price standard in Hamburg. The room looked a bit dated but it was quite spacious compared to other hotels in Europe. The location is great, close to the city centre and train station. However, you do see a lot of weird people wandering around the area near the hotel. I did not have any issues, but I would recommend staying vigilant. Breakfast is basic, but at least it is included so you won't leave hungry in the morning.

We stayed at your hotel for 18 nights in total as we were visiting our son and his family for the Christmas holidays. He lives nearby so this hotel was VERY convenient. The housekeeping was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot water and pulsating shower in the bathroom. We were disappointed that there was not a coffee maker/kettle in the room. We were also rather disappointed that the full breakfast buffet on a couple of occasions did not have the hot items readily available. We were able to order individual servings of such items but it was not the same as being able to freely pick and choose what we wanted. We also noticed that the hot drinks that were dispensed from the machine were NOT hot at all and just merely warm. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous at all times. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit our son in Hamburg.

Nice hotel in the middle of the city, right next to the central station. Clean and fresh, and the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our 2-night stay here and i wouldn’t mind staying here when visitibg Hamburg again. Worth knowing, the hotel has 2 small elevators, one of which was closed for repairs causing long waiting times(especially around breakfast times) if you cant use the stairs for some reason.

Hotel Hesse in Hamburg is set in a relatively quiet part of the city, which made it a comfortable base to return to after a day out. It’s not particularly central, but getting around wasn’t difficult, and the surrounding area had a calm, local feel to it. Inside, the room was functional and clean enough for a short stay. Nothing especially memorable, but everything worked as expected. It had that slightly dated charm you sometimes find in smaller city hotels, where comfort is there, just without any modern flair. What stood out most was how uncomplicated the whole stay felt. Check-in, check-out, coming and going—everything was easy and without fuss. It’s the kind of place you choose when you just need somewhere to rest, rather than somewhere to experience. Overall, Hotel Hesse was a practical and no-frills option in Hamburg. It may not leave a lasting impression, but it quietly does the job if you’re looking for a simple place to stay.

The hotel is quite expensive, but its location is excellent, right opposite the train station, making it very convenient for getting around. There are also many restaurants nearby, so dining is easy. The room itself is small and a bit cramped. When I checked in, parts of the hotel were still under renovation, and there was a lingering smell in the room, but it cleared up after opening the window for ventilation. The best part was having USB charging ports by the bed.

We don't know have to go to other hotel to check in and get the key. It would be great to have the information when making the booking. It's really annoying when we have late arrival and rainy day, we still need to carry our luggage to other hotel and come back. Also, they have few homeless sitting in front of the entrance. They are nice and polite but I still feel unsafe. I have paid for the Breakfast, but the reception said didn't see it in my booking. He was kind and maybe can feel that I am already exhausted and anger. He just gave me a Breakfast voucher and WiFi password. If not I think I will have a long waited until he found out the package until midnight. Breakfast have to go to the hotel which we have checked it.
