"I specifically checked the check-in time, but they incorrectly told me it was 10 PM. Also, they tried to charge me for a disposable shower kit (though they did cancel it). The lack of attention to detail for guests made my stay uncomfortable. However, I did like that the shower, toilet, and sink were all separate. And the room was nice and spacious!"

MM533957****This Toyoko Inn is conveniently located in central Daegu, close to attractions and with good amenities nearby. However, the soundproofing isn't great, and I could hear occasional thumping from the room above at night. If you have a choice, it's probably best to pick a corner room on the top floor; it might be quieter.

NNanookleskimoThe house is easy to find thanks to the neon sign, it is peaceful and located 15 min away by walking from the shopping and restaurants area. It's an old traditional house very well maintained with a beautiful Korean garden in the midst of a scooter repair shop neighborhood, which makes it quiet at night. The rooms have AC and have beautiful wooden panels. The bedding is comfortable with a double futon. The pillows are a bit too hard though on the neck. The bathroom is clean. They provide shampoo and soap amenities. Coffee and tea you can help yourself with in the shared kitchen. The owners work quite hard to make it welcoming and were helpful in providing touristic information about the city. We had a wonderful stay and recommend it to any families looking for a soothing and peaceful stay in a traditional yet modern setting.

HHello,puiThe room was spacious enough for two large and two small suitcases, and importantly, this hostel has an elevator! It's very convenient, and the location is also excellent! We found the actual location based on a previous review.
The lady at the front desk downstairs speaks excellent English! There were absolutely no communication barriers throughout our stay!
We were four girls staying on the 4th floor, but the common area on the 4th floor is only for males, which was a bit inconvenient.
Also, you can't shower between 11:30 PM and 7:00 AM, which is a bit inconvenient for a night owl like me.
Overall, though, I highly recommend it!

LLittle momoThe only problem with the hotel is that the shower area isn't separated into wet and dry areas; there's no glass door or shower curtain for privacy, a common drawback of many Korean hotels.
Everything else is great :) The hotel is located near Dongdaegu Station, less than a ten-minute walk, which is very convenient.
Just across the street are many restaurants open late at night, as well as many famous Seoul shops where you'll have to wait in long lines.
The room, while not very large, was very clean. It had a small terrace with views of Daegu's nightscape.
The hotel lobby provides perfume for guests, a thoughtful touch.
The hotel breakfast deserves the highest praise—it was absolutely delicious! We stayed for two days and enjoyed different dishes! Highly recommend the kimchi, pork, tofu, and pumpkin!!

GGuest UserThe check-in staff spoke basic English, but other employees didn't. Room cleanliness was a major issue; while general tidiness was okay, a thorough cleaning was clearly lacking. On the first night, a staff member put my friend's pajamas inside the duvet, making them hard to find. The second night, they threw away my facial cleanser refill, which was the first time I've ever encountered a hotel discarding a guest's items. On the third night, no one cleaned the room, refilled the water, or emptied the trash. I tried calling reception, but communication was impossible. We had to go to the front desk in person and show them photos of the room's condition before they said they'd send someone to clean it. However, after waiting over ten minutes, no one showed up. We eventually confirmed that no one would be cleaning that day and we'd have to wait until the next. The trash wasn't emptied, and it took repeated requests to get water, which was delivered by a staff member with a rather poor attitude. We asked for water and a trash bag for our rubbish, but they gave us water and towels. Generally, many staff members don't speak English, making communication quite difficult.

BBrian LawrieWhat a perfect place to stay to visit this City. Host was impeccable in answering questions and providing assistance- easily contactable throughout the stay. Although small apartment had all things I need full size fridge/ freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine. Great size Tv with loads of channels and Netflix.
Very comfortable bed. Lots of food options close, so you don’t need to cook at home. Subway line 1 is a 2 min walk from front door.
No key or access card everything is with access codes, made life very easy. To top it all off Wifi was very fast without any issues. Thank you, I had a great stay, highly recommend especially as it was value for money.

GGuest UserI gave 1 extra star because the man at the desk kept my bag safe when it needed to be. So he did the job well. Otherwise, zero stars will be given for the service of the old lady at the desk. She was unfriendly and insulting!!! First, she doesn't speak English, so she should use a translator to communicate with the customers. Instead, she started talking in an unfriendly way in Korean when she knew I couldn’t speak Korean.
Second, because I don't understand and she doesn't understand me, I have to ask my Korean friend to talk with her. She is still not friendly. And not try to understand for me, because I don't know what my friend and her were talking about. So she showed me that she got annoyed with my misunderstanding of her.
Third, and the most horrible of all. She was very rude the next day. I came to her desk, because I needed something. I have just shown my face and wanna say hi, with a friendly look at her. But she started to behave rudely right away before I could say hi. By saying something loudly in Korea and weirdly using both hands and looking angry. So I felt very uninvited to ask something. So I go away from her. Back to my room. I found my stuff (toothbrush and other things of mine) that I forgot in the other room. That I forgot to take with me, on the floor!!!!!! The worst there is a desk for face washing next to the door. So she could put it in there. It's so onhygien with my toothbrush without a cover put on the floor. I have never gotten that horrible service before. Even when I go the a very cheap hostel!
I was in a good mood to discover this city. And these are bad memories I got from her. She has just ruined my good mood for the holiday there. My friends suggested that I go to this Motel. Now my friends know how stupid this service I got from this lady. They won't come anymore in the future!
If the old lady doesn’t like foreigners then she shouldn't work there. So it won’t ruin someone's holiday. I hope the manager of their company does something with the service that the lady gave to the customer. I don’t complain usually. But this is unacceptable! I am planning to go regularly to Daegu because my friend lives there. This motel is in a perfect location for me. But now I would rather go to a hotel that is far away than this Motel. So you have just lost 1 regular customer because of this stupid service. I am still angry if I think about this service with my toothbrush on the floor.

GGuest UserThe hotel was good enough for one night. However, the check in process was quite difficult for a foreigner who doesn't speak any Korean, so make sure you have your translation apps handy!
The room itself smelled a bit like cigarettes. I'm not sure if I accidentally booked a smoking room, but I assume I didn't since my reservation didn't say as such.
There was also no natural light in the room. While there was a window, it was covered in some kind of plastic film. The hallway was also completely dark.
The bathroom and toilet were excellent, and so was the little bag of amenities offered.
Bed was clean and comfortable.
Good enough for a one night stay, but wouldn't come again!
