If you're expecting a 5-star, 10/10 luxury experience, this may not be the place for you. However, if you're looking for something unique with historical architecture and exceptionally friendly staff, I highly recommend giving it a try. We stayed for one night, and the room was clean and comfortable. While we can't comment on the quality of the food as we missed breakfast—our own fault for not paying attention to the time—everything else was wonderful. Saleem ( apologies if I have spelt your name incorrectly) was a fantastic host, and his team made us feel very welcome. The hotel itself has a lot of character, and we enjoyed exploring it. We stayed in the Tatu room, which overlooked the seafront. Even though it was on the main *****, we had a peaceful night's sleep in a comfortable bed, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We’re already planning to return to Stone Town, and this will most likely be our go-to place due to its great location and the warm, welcoming staff.
