GGuest UserI chose this hotel for its amazing architecture and also because the interior design is by a Singaporean firm (yes, Singaporean pride! And yes, I’m the guest from Singapore). Qufu is a small town and the hometown of Confucius, and everyone has an endearing way of addressing each other as Teacher or Laoshi here, as 子曰:三人行必有我师 ie we can learn something from everyone. I dare say the JW Marriott is one of the best options in international hotels here aside from the Shang, but Marriott is more conveniently located to the Confucius Temple site and main tourist attractions. I love the 孔门豆腐 here; I had it twice during my short stay. There is a nice story behind the dish; let the server tell you about it. The one who served me was lovely. I asked her if I could record her introducing the dish; she was a little shy and said her Putonghua is not standard (yes, the local people talk with a thick Qufu accent, so if you are out of town, ask them to repeat to you slowly in Putonghua or use a translator), but she allowed me to record anyway. Charming place.

HHkPyY_shiFacilities: Although the decor is a bit old-fashioned, it's still good considering it's an established five-star hotel.
Cleanliness: Tidy and clean, everything you need is there.
Environment: Convenient for dining and attractions nearby.
Service: The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and professional.
P.S. The last time I came to Jining was shortly after the Shangri-La first opened. Hopefully, I'll return to experience it again after its next renovation. Finally, a friendly reminder: choosing Shangri-La means choosing a trusted brand. People nationwide are drawn to your seafood buffet, so please strictly maintain quality control to avoid disappointing both new and returning guests. 🤞

GGuest UserWe bought a package which included tickets for two people to visit famous mountains and scenic spots. There are also two breakfasts. The staff at the guesthouse are very enthusiastic and polite, and they all call guests teachers. When I got there, my friend Qi Tiantian added me on WeChat and sent me the shuttle bus schedule to and from the Holy Land as well as the program schedule inside the Holy Land. It was pretty good, and the accommodation was quite spacious. The Spring Festival here is pleasant and relaxing.

Outstanding
MM48355****I highly recommend the Nishan Academy Hotel. It's a garden-style hotel with a shuttle service from the front desk to the rooms. They also offer shuttle buses to Nishan Sacredland and Luyuan Village. The breakfast is high quality. I suggest staying two nights to have a more relaxed experience. Generally, a butler will add you on WeChat and respond promptly to your needs.
We stayed in a mountain-view garden room, and the window view was beautiful. On a rainy day, looking out at Nishan shrouded in mist, my child said, 'It reminds me of a poem: 'Where white clouds gather, there are homes.' The mountain-view garden twin rooms cannot be combined (there's a hanging nightstand in the middle that can't be moved). If you're worried about children falling off the bed, you can use a large chair to push against the side of the bed. I heard that the twin beds in the villas can be combined, but with one room and one small courtyard, ordering two rooms for our trip felt less convenient with two separate courtyards, and it was also more expensive. I really liked the breakfast at Nishan Academy Hotel and their Yatang Chinese restaurant; I found them more palatable than places in Qufu city.
I recommend checking room types and offerings on multiple platforms and the hotel's official WeChat account. I prefer the 'room + breakfast for two' package and not the ones that include tickets. Although Nishan Sacredland and Luyuan Village are quite large and commuting can be inconvenient, the complimentary dual-park tickets (usually valid for 2 days, with two entries to Nishan Sacredland and one to Luyuan Village) were generally sufficient. However, unlimited entry tickets offer more peace of mind, and more importantly, they aren't expensive.
