Great location close to Syracuse University. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff friendly. We had a great stay.

Hotel was great walking distance to campus and was clean. Zero smoke or musty odors.

Cld be better but Blade and Chris made the biggest impact. I would probably return because of them. Was looking forward to a historic building with some amenities. The entrance doors should have been a foreshadow. Trying to get your luggage in while opening the doors was not easy. Especially if you are an older demographic, smaller, or recently in surgery recovery. Indication they wld not spend money on doors to welcome their clients. The hotel business is about making  your clients life that little bit easier, nicer, memorable. I understand saving money on notepads in the rooms but a front door that is not welcoming is a nuisance. Blade upgraded the room.  I asked for help bringing in a second piece, a cooler with medical supplies. I was grateful Blade took the initiative to help because there was no bellboy. The room was small but okay. Thank goodness it was low season and she had the good sense to upgrade me. The room itself had no safety deposit box, no coffee maker or kettle. Fortunately I brought my own kettle for late might tea and toaster.T he oatmeal breakfast was nice. The room had no plug by the desk and the chair provided looked like an office chair ...yeah...but was very low and cld not easily be raised. I cld not do it. I was disappointed there was no Smart TV but found the tv acceptable with many channels. No great shows but acceptable. Disappointing there was no sleep timer on the tv. There was also no automatic shut off because of lack of use. This means spending extra electricity because the tv is on all night because they don't give you a remote with a timer or set the tv up to shut off automatically when there is a lack of activity after 3 hours. Annoying. Didn't sleep as well as normal. Chris who has been there a long time was wonderful. He took the initiative to suggest taking me to the bus terminal. It was 5 minutes away so a total of 10 minutes there and back. He  cared about my happiness. Anina was very nice. Franklin also. Mary the housekeeping supervisor also pleasant. The first night the late night staff was mediocre. I asked a question she said she didn't know because she had never been there. The point is she didn't even try to help. Its her city.  She was so oblivious she thought her answer was normal. In my books that is not helping your client. She is not unpleasant but clearly needs training. She is in the customer service industry. The customer service of Blade and Chris are the main reasons I wld return to the hotel Skylar. They are great Ambassadors for the Hotel Skyler. This cld be a great hotel but as it is its okay.

Two years ago, I booked a hotel here. Due to the negligence of the hotel management, my credit card was deducted twice. I tried to contact the hotel to deal with this matter, but their service attitude was extremely poor and all kinds of blame shirking. Please don't stay here if you don't want any trouble

A really great place, and very unique! I was just traveling through, and was just going to stay off the interstate, but I'm very happy I got off the road a bit more and stayed downtown, because I had such a pleasant time at this place, and downtown has a lot to offer.

Good location. We had a room right off the lobby so a bit loud, but overall a good place to stay.

It was a very nice suite, enjoyed my stay and the bed and shower were very nice. Only problem was at checkout the girl at the front desk attempted to charge me $32 WITHOUT TELLING OR ASKING ME despite me having been fully paid months ago. She claimed it was from ******* and even though I showed her my PAID RECEIPT, she could not assure me of anything because there was no manager there for the whole weekend! Luckily ******* assured me there wouldn’t be any other charges but it took me an HOUR to check out instead of the 2 minutes it should have. But the woman attempting to charge me money without even ATTEMPTING TO TELL ME really put me off wanting to come there again. Luckily I didn’t have the $32 dollars on the card or I would probably be waiting for a refund. Just inexcusable
