Fairyland Hotels in Taiyuan

I found myself having to stay in Taiyuan due to the outbreak preventing me going home. After several phone calls I finally found this hotel that would receive foreign guests. The staff were very polite and I particularly wish to thank the front desk staff and the concierge who helped me with the various paperwork needed when I arrived. The room was very clean, well furnished and maintained. A fruit basket was delivered which I thought was a nice touch. Living so close to Taiyuan it is not somewhere I would usually need to stay but should the need arise again I would not hesitate to do so. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks me about a suitable hotel or if you are planning to stay in Taiyuan. The location is very convenient. Lots of food options and things to do nearby. All in all, Shanxi Hotel deserve praise.

Good hotel occupying 2 floors of a commercial building in the city. Easy access to pedestrian mall, eateries and food stalls right in front of hotel. Our room was even equipped with a small washing machine! Ample supply of drinking water much appreciated. Housekeeping staff number 072 was courteous and helpful keeping our 3 rooms clean and well kept. Only setback to this hotel is no porterage nor ramp available and we had to carry our big bags up the steps to the main lobby.

Advantages: bright and spacious👍🏻Good surrounding environment Opposite is Dongli Park. I took a walk after dinner and felt great❤️ Breakfast is convenient. I also tried the gym on the second floor👍🏻 The original refrigerator in the room was not working well. The maintenance staff came to diagnose and replace it immediately Disadvantages: 1. The noodle stew in the breakfast buffet had a strange smell. I think it can be replaced 2. The room bathroom had a serious odor 3. Close to the airport. There are many planes all day long. It is really noisy 4. The night shift at the front desk is obviously more professional and patient. The attitude and professionalism of the day shift are not satisfactory. For example, when I checked in, I said I wanted to see the room type first, but was rejected because I was not available... After checking out, I found that two small bags of medicine were missing. The process of communicating over the phone was infuriating. I was asked to leave my phone number and said I would call back after confirmation. I called again after ten minutes, but was asked to leave my phone number again. I questioned, why do you want to call in less than half an hour? The reply was very tough, written on a note and thrown away... Apart from the attitude of the front desk, the stay experience was quite good

The hotel lobby is on the 5th floor. It is not particularly large, but surprisingly has a tropical feel, and there is a little bear playing the piano~ The front desk lady is very gentle and helped us upgrade to a suite, so lucky! As an old five-star hotel, the service and environment are impeccable, and there is nothing wrong with it. During the May Day holiday, staying for two nights within 1,000 yuan is very cost-effective! It has become my first choice in Taiyuan unconditionally~ By the way! When checking in, a plastic cover will be put on the ID card! I was touched by the small details

I came to Taiyuan temporarily for one day and booked a reservation at the Shanxi Hotel next to Yingze Street. I was upgraded to a business floor with a relatively new decoration. It was clean and tidy. I was very satisfied.

The hotel is not bad. The lobby is quite large and has a light fragrance. I am satisfied [smile], the front desk staff! The service attitude is particularly good [strong]. Seeing that we brought our children here, they also introduced the hotel's May Day activities. I heard that there were pitching pots, ring tossing games, and cartoons. My children didn't want to leave [grin], and the breakfast was richer than the breakfasts in the hotels I stayed in before! Few hotels have rice noodles for breakfast. The taste is more delicious. It feels like it is made with care. I will stay here again next time. It's more reasonable! ! !

The room is warm and clean, the service is thoughtful and meticulous, the housekeeper service is in place, the front desk responds quickly, and Wanda Plaza is just downstairs. It is very convenient. Having lived in private residence at an overseas Pullman Hotel, this Pullman is different. Pros: - Very professional, presentable, helpful, prompt, and well spoken multi-lingual staff at reception and breakfast (staff member Ivo is exemplary of these qualities, also Zhao fengpei (gentlemen on the door who helped me with my bag and the car door), and the gentleman that was by the door at check-in who helped expedite the check-in process). - Comfy beds and pillows. - The softest and best bathrobes! - Yoga mat in the room in a nice touch Cons: - A general issue across most hotels is enforcing the non-smoking policy. Unfortunately there was a group of men smoking in the lobby (despite the non-smoking signs), one elevator smelled of cigarette smoke, the a/c seemed to recirculate this smell, and I had to change rooms the second day as the smell of old cigarette smoke was embedded into the pillows and you could smell it every time you walked into the room. Therefore it triggered my asthma. Although they were very busy, I was able to change rooms after the first night. - Unfortunately the executive lounge was not open and your only other option is the lobby. - No spa - Only one restaurant open at night and no room service - Is in need of more regular general maintenance Room for improvement: - While the lounge is unavailable it would be helpful to communicate this to your executive room guests when checking-in or on the booking website which it wasn’t. My husband had to prompt this conversation at check-in. But it was clear there was no set alternative, that is, just go to the lobby lounge and have what you like (no timing, no specifics). This led to confusion for the staff members in the lounge. To save time for staff and the customer, a simple bulleted list on an A4 sheet is what Kempinski do. Perhaps a note on the guests profile or the room number should suffice. - Slightly envious that the other reviewers were upgraded. We were supposed to be upgraded from the executive room for free as a platinum member but that never happened. However, it was good that Kelly offered the minibar, and some drinks and cakes at the lobby lounge as free. - Also, our first executive room 1710 was dark, windows were filthy, it was run down and had no Nespresso machine (compared to 1805 which was the same room type but a lot better).
