The hotel that is really in the city palace complex needs to use the hotel's pass card to enter and exit the gate of the palace complex. The lobby, restaurant and bar are the main building of the hotel. However, it is slightly shabby, and the corners of the old facilities have mold spots and poor sound insulation. In short, it is like a small building that was previously occupied by people. Breakfast can be ordered a la carte, and the recommended leg of lamb for dinner is delicious. It is full of butter, and it is a real candlelight dinner ~

We stayed here with our whole family (me, my kids and parents) this June. It was a fantastic experience. The staff went back and forth to make sure every day was comfortable. Some perks we enjoyed during this stay were cleaner rooms day and night, fabulous breakfast and dinner in Sunset restaurant, and breathtaking Lake Pichola and Taj Lake Palace views from our rooms. Special thanks to Mr. Bhanvar, Ms. Preeti, Mr. Abhishek, Ms. Rachaita, Mr. Balu, Mr. Pawan, Mr.Gourav., Mr. Ramesh, and Mr. Kishan Dangi (and if I forgot someone, please forgive) for assisting us day and night and ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable. I can't express enough my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Pawan and Ms. Rachaita for their exceptional service. They treated my parents like their own, making and serving memorable meals with their dietary restrictions in mind. Their care and attention made our stay even more special. After such a wonderful experience, I am eager to return, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I am confident they will enjoy their stay as much as we did.

Sehr geschätzt habe ich die Dusche mit der Regenbrause und genügend Wasser. Es ist ruhig und mitten in der Altstadt, also ideal gelegen, um viele Sehenswürdigkeiten hier zu Fuss zu erkunden. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und gut und kann auch draussen auf der Dachterrasse genossen werden mit Blick auf die Altstadt und den city palace. Besonders aber möchte ich die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft von Sa***preet in der Reception und von Arjun und Pravin im Restaurant erwähnen! Vielen Dank!

My adult daughter and I spent 4 nights at Janak Niwas while we explored Udaipur. We had a very comfortable twin room with attached bathroom, on the 2nd floor and overlooking the quiet lane outside. From the moment we arrived the welcome from Sanju and his brother (? Raju) was very friendly, informative and helpful. The other staff had very limited English (about as limited as my Hindi), but they were always friendly, willing and respectful. The rooftop area is spectacular and nicely decorated with plants etc for a great ambience. The small menu is limited to home-cooking fare, but the breakfast we had up there was delicious. Sanju took us on an interesting guided walk in the city, and was very informative about local sights, transport etc. My daughter enjoyed a painting class during our stay, and our transport from Udaipur to Jaipur was arranged efficiently for us with a great driver. I can happily recommend a stay at Janak Niwas to anyone wanting to stay close by the City Palace and market.

Really loved our stay at Petal of Mewar. Would stay again. Staff (specifically Renchho) were great. The rooms were exactly what we were looking for, and they have a beautiful rooftop view of the city skyline and City Palace. It was in a really good location walking distance to the sites in Udaipur. Renchho was always extremely responsive and helped with recommendations, bookings, requests for the room, and pointed us to the best food we had in Udaipur. Great experience! Spacious and clean rooms, amazing family who runs the place. Terrific view of the palace from the peaceful rooftop. The location is great and close to major attractions, but also not on the noisy streets. Jitu The owner also guides in the palace, very recommended as well!
