A delightful place with friendly staff, very clean, beautiful building and renovation. I would stay here next time I am in town. It is close to all the attractions, and we felt safe in the neighborhood walking around at night. It has the best showers on our whole trip.

Average hotel but so close to Washington attractions. Whitehouse just down the road and close to Metro. Hotel is old and quirky but staff very helpful. Room size was adequate, bathroom had great shower. Bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee available downstairs in lobby.

This hotel is very old, and our room was pretty dirty (there was black mold all over the shower but they cleaned it upon request). However, it's in a great location.

When I booked a room at this hotel, I accidentally double-booked, due to the internet freezing in the middle of payment. I did not find out what happened until the concierge advised me on the day we showed up. The concierge refused to refund the extra payment, even though the hotel was not fully booked. She was quite rude about it.. She did not even offer to upgrade us to a better room, seeing as we paid double. The room we got was tiny, and the bed was creaky and uncomfortable. Np mini bar, no coffee or tea making facilities. Just awful.

Very nice property, helpful staff, privacy and cleanliness. We really liked the location, beautiful building and quiet atmosphere. No-frills means more affordable! We highly recommend the Architect if you're fine with a less than luxurious mattress and pillows. Will definitely stay there again
