The Golden sun hotel is a small but nice hotel. The thing that stands out is the staff, they are brilliant so friendly and helpful and this is across the hotel l did tell the owner/ manager but he took little interest. To be honest you see the owner many times in the restaurant but talks to none of the people staying at the hotel and is bad tempered and rude to his staff occasionally. The food is nice and there is a variety of choices if a little limited but it is very tasty what they do provide. Biggest downside is lack of entertainment only two evenings of limited entertainment. Enjoyed my stay would l return not sure.

Had a lovely stay at The Golden Sun hotel ( do not get confused this is not the Golden Sun hotel & Spa ) hotel was amazingly clean brilliant staff all very friendly , the food was ok to be fair plenty of it lovely and clean restaurant just a bit short on choices don`t get me wrong we always found something to eat and what we had was very nice . Beer was ok can`t really comment on spirits wife said the wine was nice rooms were good maid cleaned and changed towels everyday all in all had a really really great holiday there and would definitely would return location was very good really close to beach great pool and pool area never had any trouble getting a sunbed any day. You are on the main flight path we loved it but you do here and see planes through out the day check it on Youtube . Thanks for a great stay Dean & Tracy

We have just got home from a week here as a couple. The hotel was in a great location, very close to Kalamki beach and the main *****. It was really clean and all the staff were so lovely. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. The bed was so big too. The room did feel a little small, but it didn't matter as we didn't spend much time there, and the balcony was a good size with a nice view. This is definitely the place to stay if you like a quiet relaxed hotel. Like other reviews have said there is no entertainment here, and nothing happening round the pool during the day. Which isn't always a bad thing, but we did only spend one day round the pool as we got quiet bored. The food was always good with a good selection. The drinks were fine as well. The beer was good and the spirits hit the spot. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't take our drinks to the room, but there is an on site mini market to buys drinks from. All in all a lovely hotel. Definitely somewhere to stay if you like snoozy pool days.

People moaning about the food !! Food is very good and there’s always something to eat. Repetitive over 2 weeks but choice of fish, pork, chicken or beef . Plenty of veg dishes and soups are delicious !! Selection of lovely fresh salads and fruit and delicious desserts. Hotel is spotless and rooms are cleaned everyday. Staff are always on the go and attentive. Girls on reception were very helpful and cheery. Bella and others in dining room are a great asset to this hotel. Always smiling and clearing and setting new tables. The quiet man Servet at the main bar is an absolute gentleman and also Emiliano at night on top bar is a wee gem. Pool bar is ok, serving toasties, chips banquettes and salad pots. The thing that disappointed me was the mixer drinks. Not branded Cokes or Fantas. Too sugary sweet cheap juice. Solved by buying my own juice at shops. I would also take a travel cup for taking coffee or tea out to main bar as only allowed to take plastic cups from dining room. Great location for beautiful beach and short walk up to the main drag. Had a great holiday !!

if i could rate the hotel more than 5* i most definitely would. room was spacious and cleaned everyday to a very high standard, staff across the hotel was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating to our every needs. always something to eat whether it was in the restaurant or the snack bar, that says a lot as i am such a picky eater. A massive thankyou to chef ayman who welcomed everyone into his restaurant, had a chat with everyone and made sure his food was to the best possible standard, taste was impeccable and there was always something there for everyone. Our first holiday in Greece and i will definitely be coming back to this hotel next year, honestly couldn’t recommend it enough!

My friends and I have just returned from this hotel. We have no complaints at all , the staff were professional and friendly and happy to help if you needed anything. The food in our opinion was really good , plenty of choice and variety and hot. The drinks were typical AL but we managed to down them . The rooms are big and cleaned every day with a decent sized balcony. We will be happy to return.

Definitely not a four star maybe a 3, the food was very basic not much to choose from the pancakes at breakfast was harder than a brick they could probably put a window through, other than the pool theres not much to do, entertainment is non existent the rooms are very basic the beds are firm to solid room's were clean but sometimes not fully attended to, there was no sun bed wars as long as you were down for 10 the snack bar was good cheese toasties,chips,sandwiches and ice cream the staff were great and happy to help with anything,only a five minute walk to the beach and town All together it’s not a bad hotel some things just need to be changed and fixed but it wasn’t worth the money we spent.

This is our 3rd visit to the golden sun. We can't fault the the staff and rooms. There is plenty off choice for food, which you can always get something to eat. Only thing we miss is the chef specials, only choice was pork pita breads which is good, used to get carbanara . We are glad to book for next year.

Everything about his hotel was good except smoking around the pool . Can there either be a ban on smoking around the pool or a designated area to have a smoke . Non smokers do not relish the smell of smoke while relaxing in the sun . Please consider
