Hakuba Hotel Paipu No Kemuri
3.6/56 Reviews
Although it has already passed the winter skiing season, the white horses only open the ski resorts on the top of the mountain. The hotel can also provide real-time information on the ski resorts. The day is relatively deserted, the restaurant has fewer choices for breakfast and dinner, and the taste is still good. The hot spring has become a personal package. box
Hakuba Ski-Kan

A very special experience, the family hotel, the landlord and the family are really enthusiastic, and feel a different Japan in this quiet small village. First of all, we went to Baima in December. The snow is not early enough this year, so many ski resorts have not opened, and the surrounding facilities are naturally not open. Basically, it takes time to take a shuttle bus to the ski resort, and taxis are a bit expensive. The landlord’s son would take the initiative to ask what kind of ski resort he was going to today and what kind of help he needed. I said that I wanted to send the child to the nursery. He took the initiative to drive us to the nursery. He also called all the nurseries around him. The landlord will make some small snacks for the hotel guests every day. The last day of 2019 is hand-made rice cakes. The babies are very happy to watch and have eaten cakes for many years. Finally, we set off back to Tokyo and booked the bus. The bus station was actually nearby. The host’s mother specially arranged a car from their hotel to take us there. I was moved every day during the 4 days I stayed here. We are from a big city. This small hot spring hotel is a public restroom and bathhouse. I wasn't used to it at first, but believe me, staying for 2 days will make you feel different.
Hakuba Märchen House

The breakfast at this hotel should be booked in advance, and when you check in, you will be asked if you want to book breakfast for tomorrow. Breakfast is generally OK. The hotel has a car park. About 6 minutes is the ski resort.
Evo Hotel Hakuba

We used 2 nights on the three consecutive holidays in February. The location is outstanding and within 30 seconds walk of the Happo Bus Terminal and 1 minute convenience store. The room was large and the toilet (washlet) was very beautiful. The hot spring on the top floor was hot and could not enter for a long time, but the body warmed from the core. This time it was a night stay, so it is unrated about the meal. Even if I asked for early because of the rain, I would check in, and even if I was scheduled to stay alone, I was happy to take it. The grandfather at the front desk (owner?) is certainly unique, but let's laugh and receive it. I didn't ski, so I didn't know it, but I laughed at the fact that it was the most luxurious in Hakuba. It was very kind and kind if you talk about it. I would like to use it if I have another chance.
Pension Chauchau

A private pension. Therefore, it is recommended for people who want to relax because it is not large, so it is unlikely that they will encounter groups of guests or student groups. The location is in the middle of National Route 148 with an express bus stop and Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort, so it feels like it's okay to visit by private car or public transportation. To get to the ski resort, you can take a shuttle bus from the bus stop at the top of the hill about 7 or 80 meters from the inn. It's all downhill on the way back, so you can walk home, but it's better to see it for 10 to 15 minutes. If you want to buy something to eat and drink, it will be Escale Plaza, which is the base of the ski resort, or a convenience store that is a 5-6 minute drive from the inn. If you walk to Konpi, it takes 30 minutes one way. The food at the inn is described as creative European cuisine, but it was a fusion of French and Italian. The taste was absolutely delicious. The volume may be a little unsatisfactory for men. Rice can be replaced, but I was confused because I was not given a clear guide or written somewhere. It seems that you can also replace the breakfast bread, but there is no guide here either. If you say that you should just ask, it will be until then, but I think that clear guidance is still essential because not everyone can ask such things. If you omit the verbal guidance, you can post the guidance on the table. As a difference from the pensions of the same size in the surrounding area, if it is famous, it often comes with an after-meal drink, coffee or tea, but this is not provided. If you need it, you can order it separately for a fee. Breakfast comes with coffee or tea. When I visited, I was in the middle of the corona crisis, so I don't know if I was doing it, but it seemed that I could enjoy alcohol in the dining room after dinner (of course, an extra charge). The room is not spacious, but enough to sleep. Regarding the position of the TV that other people wrote, it was certainly higher than my line of sight and it was hard to see. If I didn't adjust the distance, it was difficult to see the screen due to reflections, etc., and I felt stressed because I couldn't change the location arbitrarily due to wiring problems. In the room where I stayed, the TV was placed on a wooden stand in the corner, and the height of the TV hanging from the stand was the maximum height for comfortable viewing. I really want you to improve this area. I thought that it would be a minus point that it is difficult to watch the TV for that, even though you can watch foreign movies and Japanese movies rented out by the hotel for free on the DVD player in each room. There is also a unit bath and toilet in the room, but the door to this is locked. For those who need it, the accommodation plan will have a bathroom and the basic fee will increase. Conversely, if you don't need it, you can stay at a cheaper price than other similar-sized hotels in the surrounding area. Regarding the toilet outside the room, the toilet on the 2nd floor where the guest room is located was a strange structure with separate toilets for men and women next to each other as others wrote. It was unavoidable in terms of space. It may be troublesome for women, but we recommend using the toilet next to the front desk on the first floor. This is separate from the entrance for men and women. The bath is already here, but it is not large. It's a so-called family bath, and if you're an adult, there's a fixed number of 2 people, and if you force yourself to put 3 people in one room, it's basically for 1 person. It was one room. For example, both parents and one child, or one parent with a child, are of reasonable size. I didn't feel that there were negative points such as poor cleaning or dim lighting, but on the contrary, there was no particular element that appealed to me. According to the information on the website, it seems that you can enjoy the jacuzzi on the terrace except in winter, so if you want to enjoy a bath in winter, please use Escal Plaza or nearby hot spring facilities. By the way, there was no information about this, but it seems that you can take a bath 24 hours a day, except during cleaning. The drying room is a concern for ski snowboarders, but it didn't feel like there was a separate room. It was rather simple, with a passage partitioned off, shelves installed, and a warm air heater placed. Even so, if the boards and boots are normally wet, they will dry, but it is safer to dry the boots that are wet to the inner and the clothes that are wet to the inside in the room. There are often times when there is no clear guidance as information, such as refills for meals or a DVD of a bath guide movie, and depending on how you look at it, it may look like a lack of hospitality. However, the owner couple is very pleasant and friendly. The service is not bad at all, such as caring about the likes and dislikes of meals, and offering to pick up and drop off if you are handy. It was a pity that the information dissemination was insufficient.
Hotel Hakuba Hifumi

Superb little hotel with fantastic staff and great food. We stayed 3 nights and would have liked to stay more :) Before we had even arrived, we had asked a few questions by email and the staff were exceptionally helpful. So we were pretty confident we would be looked after when we actually landed in hakuba. We arrived into Happo bus terminal and were picked up in a private transfer (Although the hotel is approx 3 min walk from the bus terminal!). But it removed the stress and got things off to a great start. We arrived around lunch and wanted to ski that afternoon, so the hotel gave us a ski pass at a great rate and contacted the ski gear rental company to come collect us. The room was perfect. We stayed in a basic room as there were no other rooms available. So meant we didn’t have an in room onsen. But honestly, we didn’t miss it. The onsen you can book for an hour is lovely. It wasn’t ever really booked up. It was really clean and an incredible way to end the day. We had a bit of a mix up and someone else staying at the hotel “accidentally” took our onsen booking. Quite a surprise when we turned up and there were people in there 😂. The hotel staff were great though, they closed one of the other two public onsens for an hour for us. They are normally reserved for just male/female only. This was a great touch and rescued what was going to be a bit of a lost evening given we had come back especially for our onsen booking. Breakfast the following day was awesome. We had the Japanese breakfast which came with lots of little dishes, all of which were delicious. Maybe the best miso soup we’ve had! Worth mentioning that I am a vegetarian, and they accommodated this with zero fuss! Switched up a few dishes for veggie ones. Which was really appreciated. I was all set to just eat cereal for 3 days! We also ate dinner at the hotel which was fabulous. Lots of little dishes all of which looked and tasted great. Again, I had a whole different vegetarian menu, with some really unusual, innovative dishes that were delicious. Didn’t think I’d have one of the nicest quiches I’ve ever had in a Japanese ski resort! Price was reasonable as well for what was a really nice dinner. All in all, highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff!
